I drove home on that Friday evening the happiest man alive. I was stuffed with Mrs. Johnson’s lasagna. I was convinced that she was a wizard in the kitchen, her lasagna was the stuff of legend. To make things even better, I was going to prom with Victoria Johnson. I felt incredibly lucky. I could not believe that she actually said yes.

I knew that asking her to prom was a huge gamble but it was a risk that I had to take. Coming up with the idea had not been easy since I could not go with the normal route. If I had asked her out in school, she would have been very uncomfortable. I went the cheesy route.
