Five hours later, Emily was already carrying Nia in her arms. They finally arrived in the Lycan Blood Pack territory and her daughter shivered at the sight of the land before them.

“Mommy, I don’t like this place,” Nia said, trembling. “Where’s Daddy? Is he here?”

Emily kissed Nia’s cheek trying to console her. “Daddy’s here. She needs you, Nia.” She took one of her tiny hands and kissed its knuckles. “Remember that day you showed me how you are able to bring the dead bird back to life?”

Nia nodded her head, focusing on what Emily, her mother, had to say.

Emily swallowed hard and carefully glanced at Nia. “Can you do the same thing to your Daddy…? B-Bring him back to life?”

Her little girl’s eyes began to water. Nia was smart enough to realize what Emily meant by that. Her lips curved downward, and her chin trembled.

“Daddy is dead, Mommy?” Nia’s voice cracked.

Unable to control her emotions, Emily cried and nodded her head. “Y-Yes… Daddy is dead.”
