Elle POV

Elle woke up to a blaring alarm clock in her room, the sun was so bright against her all white bedroom.

Ugh, she moaned, it couldn't be time to get up already. Noooo.

But, here it was time to get up already.

As she slung her small frame out of the bed tossing the purple comforter over the mattress,

she could here her mother cooking in the kitchen.

Great Elle thought. She's home.

Elle heard her mother stumbling around again in the kitchen trying her best to make breakfast. As Elle walked down the hallway with it's peeling yellow paint on the walls, a tightness burned in her throat. Readying herself for the confrontation that was coming her way.

"oh you're home." Ann spat out. Like, Elle was her roommate instead of her daughter.

"You know our rent is due in a couple days. I'm looking a little short on my half."

"you're always a little short."I shoot back. It's petty as fuck.

I can feel the burn in my throat as I spit her attitude back out at her.

I hate how she makes me feel small sometimes, like her world is dependent on mine for survival.

You'd think it was she was the daughter sometimes instead of me.

She stills, looking at me with rage in her eyes, as she's scrambling eggs over the stove.

Taking a steady breath before we go into all out war, I make my way through the rest of the house trying to find clothes to wear.

I know how I can make some extra money tonight.

The strip will be packed it's Friday in Vegas, and people will be out, drinking, gambling, hot and ready to know what their future will hold. The Vegas strip was just 20 minutes from her hometown of Blackwater Heights.

If, I had any sense at all I'd leave my mother and find a place down there, so I could be free and independent of her. I make sure I'm dressed in all black, with a low cut tight fitted shirt on. Showing off my best assets.

If people are busy looking at the girls, they aren't busy watching me as I read tarot cards for them.

I hate it when people notice the little tic I have in my neck, as I feel the familiar wave of energy come over me once I shuffle the cards.

As I let the voices come in.

But that is my secret weapon. No one knows, that sometimes, sometimes the voices are right, that sometimes what the cards show me come true.

Grabbing my trusted Rider Waite deck, I had out the door and down to the Vegas Strip, hopefully I'll have enough rent money, or enough money to move away from my horrible mother and strike out on my own.

The heat as always was unbearable as Elle set up her table and decks and candles. But,I love it here on the strip, the excitement, and buzz of everyone.

My spot is right next to the strip club called Midnight's Girls. Max, the owner has always been nice to me. He looks out for me when I have clients that try and get a little handsy. Or mistake me for a stripper.  The night began to flow in and out as some of my regulars would come by my table asking the same questions, " Will I get good tips tonight?" "Will I find love?" "Is he or she cheating on me?"

Those are my favorite questions, because they are almost always YES.

But, I always have tissues and a little hidden flask of Jack, just in case it's an emotional ending.

As I look down at my tip jar I notice I've actually made quite a bit tonight and as I'm counting I look up to see the most gorgeous man traveling with what can be  only  described as a pack of other equally mouth watering looking men.

All Tall and beautiful, but they seemed to be following the one in front, all of them seemed to almost walk behind him.  This greek god is the most gorgeous out of all of them. Just that one thought makes the heat in my skin set on fire. My heart seems to be beating faster.

Get ahold of yourself woman!

I chide myself.

He is tall, tattooed from his arms, to his neck and god knows where else, but I can only imagine. He has this beautiful olive skin and dark hair with these eyes.

He is tall, tattooed from his arms, to his neck and god knows where else, but I can only imagine. He has this beautiful olive skin and dark hair with these eyes.

The eyes are what initially did it for me. Not quite blue but not quite green either. For a second our eyes meet and just that one second I think I see a flash of dark blue hit his eyes, the feeling that comes over me is bizarre. I can't place it, as I've never felt anything like this energy coming off of any other man before. It is also a look that make my panties want to melt off of my body as I feel heat rising all over me.

"Clam down girl", I try and whisper to myself.

But, then again most men don't know my little secret. My sensitivity to others energies.

The wind does a little whoosh around me. My candles flame flickers, and I hear my small spirits guides voice whisper "Not human".

All of this is a lot happening at fucking once. I feel hot, bothered, and overwhelmed. As a sickening feeling takes hold of me, I finally realize I'm staring with my damn mouth open.

If, they are not human what ARE They exactly?

Oh, fuck. I'm fucking drooling. great. Oh, my fuck.

He has definitely noticed me staring at him.

Everyone in his little pack of friends has noticed I'm drooling.

Let me just die of embarrassment now please. But, maybe they don't seem to notice me. They walk past me and to the doors of Midnight. Briefly, the Greek god at the front looks at me, I could almost swear he looks like he could either eat me in a way that makes my insides want to melt or he wants to murder me.

His vibes don't scream attracted.

As the mouth watering group of men head to the door Max greets them.

Max, who is wearing all black skinny jeans and a black top, his usual look, big and broad shoulders with a nose ring and black painted fingernails is the owner. Steps out with beers in hand, smoking.

"My boys, I'm so happy you could make your way out of the woods to see me."

The Greek god and Max hug, and they walk in. Before Max goes inside he comes next to me and lends in.

"How's it going tonight Elle?"

"Better than I thought."

I say, with a sheepish smile as I hold up my tip jar. I know I'm as red as a fucking tomato, and Max seems to know why.

With a wink, Max says, "They are harmless to humans." With that  Max leaves me to the line that is starting to form at my table. As the night goes on I continue pulling cards for myself. But the lover's card of the tarot seems to haunt all of my readings moving forward.

I begin to realize it's for me. Could this mysterious mountain of a tattooed god be for me?

Elle woke up to a blaring alarm clock in her room, the sun was so bright against her all white bedroom.

Chapter 49 For the first time in days, I didn’t wake up gasping for air. There was no phantom scent of damp earth or sulfur clogging my throat, no lingering echo of my mother’s cold voice vibrating in my skull, and no violent spike of adrenaline demanding that I jump out of bed and reach for a weapon. Instead, there was only the soft, warm filtering of morning sunlight through the log cabin window and the deep, grounding scent of pine and cedar embedded in the heavy linens. I rolled over, my arm instinctively sweeping across the mattress to find the solid, furnace-like warmth that had anchored me through the night. My fingers met only cold, empty sheets. A sharp prickle of my usual hyper-vigilance flared in my chest. I sat up quickly, pulling Silas’s oversized linen shirt tighter around my shoulders. The fabric hung low on my collarbone, swallowing my frame, but the lingering scent of him instantly dialed back the panic. Shaking off the remnants of sleep, I padded across the c

POV Silas: Chapter 48The cool breeze coming off the water carried the sharp, clean scent of pine and oncoming dusk, cutting through the heavy tension that had settled deep into my bones over the last three weeks. I stood at the edge of the wooden dock, the soles of my boots pressing against the damp, weathered planks as I watched the dark river lap rhythmically against the support posts. It was the first time since we crossed the border that I didn’t feel the phantom itch between my shoulder blades—the constant, exhausting paranoia that we were being actively hunted. For the first time in what felt like centuries, the air didn’t taste like copper and imminent bloodshed. We needed this. She needed this.I ran a heavy hand through my hair, gripping the back of my neck as a fierce, protective anger rolled through my chest. Anne had spent so long carrying the weight of the world on her fragile shoulders, burning her own spirit to ash just to keep everyone else warm and safe. The poor th

Forty Seven: POV Anne: The forest spirits didn't just clear a path for us; they provided an escort. When the brush parted, it wasn't a horse or a carriage waiting for us. Standing in the dappled sunlight was a creature of absolute myth—a unicorn, its coat gleaming like spun starlight, its silver horn humming with a pure, ancient resonance. It inclined its head toward Lilly, who let out a joyful sob and rushed forward, burying her face in its silken mane. "Well," I murmured, glancing sideways at Silas, who was still slightly tender from the healing but standing tall. "I guess we're riding in style." Silas offered a rare, genuine smile, hoisting Lilly up onto the creature's back before mounting behind her and pulling me up into the space between them. The moment the unicorn leaped forward, the world blurred. The trees became streaks of green and gold, and the wind howled in our ears, carrying the distinct, dizzying sensation of traveling not ju

Chapter 46: POV Anne The canopy above us felt less like a shelter and more like a cage. "Stay down, Lilly," Silas commanded, his voice a low, gravelly rasp as he shoved the little girl gently but firmly behind a thick outcrop of moss-covered rock. I didn't need to ask why. The air had turned foul, thick with the stench of rotting copper and old graves. Out from the dense thicket slithered Draco’s hunters. They weren’t human—not even close. These were the dark, twisted things of the deep Fae realms, creatures of ash and malice who hunted the fringes of our world. My stomach violently turned as I looked at them. Everyone knew the whispers. Everyone knew these demons literally fed on half-born children, consuming the innocent to gorge on their raw, unspent magic. Silas didn’t hesitate. He drew his blade, the steel catching a rare glint of sunlight through the leaves, and threw himself into the fray. He moved like a tempest, a devastating blur of lethal grace. I watched him parry

  • Fated Moon Wolves    Forty Five

Chapter 45: Silas POV The scent of salt and iron didn't belong in this dusty human tavern. It belonged to the shores of the Fae realm—specifically, the jagged cliffs where Draco’s hunters bled their prey. Beside me, Anne stiffened. She didn't have my tracking senses, but she wasn't stupid. She could feel the sudden drop in the room’s temperature, the way the ambient chatter of the human patrons instantly died out. *Hunters.* "Silas," she whispered, her fingers tightening against my palm. The playful defiance in her eyes was gone, replaced by a cold, sharp panic. "Don't move," I commanded, my voice dropping into a register so low it was barely audible over the roaring of my own blood. My Fae vision locked onto the two figures standing in the doorway. They wore heavy, mud-caked cloaks, but beneath the fabric, I caught the unmistakable glint of spelled silver—blades forged specifically to tear through Fae flesh and bind a witch’s magic. They weren't looking at the bar. They we

Chapter 44: Silas POV I watched my little one sleep. The clam-shell bed glowed faintly under the pale morning light filtering through the single window. Every bone in my body ached, a brutal reminder of the forest floor, but I welcomed the pain. It kept me grounded. Ever since we arrived at this hidden safehouse, I’d made sure to sleep on the hard floor the second her breathing leveled out. Anna had terrible dreams—screaming, thrashing, reliving the hunters and the roots—and we had silently agreed that me just being near her kept the darkness at bay. I would do anything to see her smile now. I'd do anything to give her a shred of comfort. She was a creature who looked like she’d fallen straight from the sky, a half-starved wood witch who had never had a single soul take care of her. And my mate bond? It was turning into a feral thing, screaming at me to protect her, to provide for her, to tear the world apart so she could rest. I hadn’t told her about the bond yet. I had no ide
