Chapter Twenty One

Rain Pov:

I’m walking hand in hand with Elle. My Elle. My mate. This is real I think for the first time in a long time. I’m here. The Moon Goddess gave me her and only her to worship. Elle smiles at me as she shows me around her Aunt Hilda’s cabin. There are witches everywhere staring at me. Some of them smile and some of them scowl at us. But, none of them really say anything to us.

Elle and I have not made anything official yet and I still need to speak to her about so much that has happened.

The high council wants me to give Elle up. Well, not really wanted but demanded that one of me or one of my men, my soldiers give up a fated mate to take one of the witches off of their hands, to restore the bonds of wolf and witches like it used to be years and years ago. I don’t understand the high council’s motive for this. We need them, we need their magic to confirm the attacks on humans and humans with witch-like powers. They call those humans “descendants”.
