LOGIN{Everett's pov}
she stumbled back as her mother confessed the bitter reality of her life, I held her firmly supporting her to stand. and then I felt her body weight on my arms, I looked at her and her eyes were closed. my one hand held her whilst by the other hand of mine I patted her cheeks - she is unconscious. Immediately I picked her up and placed her on the bed. water, where's the kitchen. I opened a door and it was the bathroom. And then another one, found it. taking a glass from the shelf I filled water in it and walked back towards her. sprinkling water on her face, I worriedly rubbed her hands, she was still unconscious. "it will be good if she never wakes up," Her parents, no fake parents are just a piece of trash, I looked back at them. and actually my glare worked this time. "We are leaving, marry her, throw her, do whatever you want to do." and with that they walked out, why should I stop those unworthy people. I immediately picked her up and walked towards my car. placing her on the back seat, i rushed towards the driving seat and started the engine. as I was driving I kept on glancing at her who was still unconscious. why isn't she waking up? is it because of the shock she got after hearing that she is not their child or is it because her father kicked in her stomach? I stopped the car in front of the hospital and after picking her up, I immediately rushed Inside. once I admitted her, I took out my phone and informed my secretary to take care of the office as I won't be available today, and then I called my cousin who works in the same office informing him the same. once I informed them, I called Emily. as she picked up the call I informed her that Arizona is in the hospital and she should come here. I was sitting next to her while she was still unconscious, the doctor came gaining my attention. "Mr. Williams, I got the reports." I nodded assuring him to speak further. "did something happen to her?" I looked at him confused, "I mean sir, she has internal bleeding in her pancreas." The doctor spoke making me look at her worriedly, "someone kicked her in the stomach." confessing that I looked at the doctor who nodded. "that can be the cause," I sighed at his response and looked at her who was still unconscious. "how can it be cured?" the doctor looked at me before speaking, "through the process of embolization," How can a human being do this to another human being. "and what are the causes that can happen after that?" I want full knowledge about it, "it can cause swelling, pain and infertility in a few women," he spoke. but she has to go through this in order to get treated. "when will she regain consciousness?" I looked at her, "she will wake up soon." the doctor left and I sat on the stool next to the bed. she slowly opened her eyes and I immediately stood up from the stool looking at her, she roamed her eyes, like she was trying to understand the situation. "what am I doing here," her voice was weak, almost inaudible. "you fainted," She looked at me and tried to sit. I helped her, tears brimmed her eyes. "is it paining?" Concern took over me and she shook her head as in no. "Why is life this cruel?" her question made me lost on words. what am I supposed to answer, "because it's life, Arizona." I patted her head and she weakly smiled. "Thank you for bringing me here, I am fine now, I will take care of myself." she was about to get up when I held her shoulders stopping her from getting up. "you haven't healed, but right now you should rest," I made her lay again and she looked at me confused. "what's wrong with me?" should I tell her, I mean she just went through A shock I can't give her another shock. "you need rest, just sleep." she was still frowning, what do I do. and just then Emily came in with mom and her mom. "Ari, what happened baby?" she immediately Hugged her. and my mom came towards me. "what happened to her Everett?" I looked at Arizona who was talking to Emily so I dragged my mother out of the room and sat with her on the chairs placed in the hallways. "mom I went to drop her, and there were her parents who thought I was her boyfriend, and then her father slapped and kicked her in the stomach and that has caused internal bleeding in her pancreas. and her parents told her that she wasn't their child, she was their older brother' s child, so they used her to get her parent's property and after getting that they abandoned her today." My mother gasped listening to all this and tears filled her eyes, my mom is way too sensitive. I am not complaining. "so what now, what's the treatment for that" I sighed at her question. "embolization, and there are possibilities that it will cause swelling, pain and it can also cause infertility." I spoke and my mother looked at the room with pity. "poor child, she is going through a lot at a young age." I nodded on her words. "mom, can you ask her if she is ready for this treatment. I mean make her understand that it's necessary." My mother nodded and patted my back. "my son may act emotionless but he feels a lot for everyone" a sigh escapes my mouth as I looked at my mother who entered the room where Arizona was. I hope she agrees to it, she will have to agree to it. it's needed. 'marry her, throw her or do whatever you want with her,' her father's words ringed in my mind. how can someone be so cruel to someone they have witnessed from childhood. the world is too cruel for innocent souls like Arizona.{Third person's pov}Arizona bit her lips and looked down. "I prefer beaches over mountains." She whispered.Everett didn't answer immediately. Instead, he watched the way she looked down after saying it, almost as if she expected someone to tell her it wasn't important.A slow, genuine smile appeared, small but unmistakable. "Beaches," he repeated quietly. "The first preference you've ever given me."He picked up the pen and wrote a single word on the blank page, beaches and then he looked back at her."I'll remember that." He closed the notebook and set it aside. "I've been to dozens of beaches around the world, for meetings." The faint smile returned. "I don't recommend that version."Arizona let out a soft laugh and Everett's eyes lingered on her for a moment. She laughs like that more often now.The thought came uninvited and he found that he didn't mind it.."Pack for a week," he said, matter of.factly. "We'll leave the day after tomorrow."Arizona blinked. "So... you've already
{Third person's pov}After an hour Arizona walked towards his study and knocked on the door, when she heard his voice, she opened the door and walked inside. "You don't have to knock Arizona." He said and she bit her lips. "Come, have a seat." She walked towards the table and sat in from of him. "So have you thought about it?" He said and she replied. "I... I don't want to trouble anyone." Everett was quiet for a moment not because he was considering her answer but because he recognized it.It wasn't an answer at all, he closed the file he'd been reading and set his pen down with deliberate care. "Arizona."His voice was calm. "That's the third time." She looked at him, confused. "The first time, you apologized for being harassed.""The second time, you said you didn't want to trouble me over college.""And now..." He leaned back slightly in his chair. "...you're telling me you don't want to trouble anyone."A brief silence settled between them. "I didn't ask whether you were a bur
{Third person's pov}Two weeks later, her exams were finally over and she was finally done with her college. They were sitting on the breakfast table with the whole family when his father spoke. "Why don't you both go somewhere Everett and Arizona?" Arizona kept staring at her plate while Everett looked up. "I have office dad." "What office? before you we were taking care of it right? yes not as good as you, but we can take care of the office and meetings for a few weeks." His uncle said. "Yeah.. you guys should go somewhere." His mother suggested and Everett opened his mouth to argue but he was interrupted by Emily. "She deserves a nice honeymoon brother." The dining hall fell into an immediate chorus of agreement. "Exactly!" one of Everett's younger cousins chimed in."You two barely had a wedding," another aunt added. "It's been meetings, college, and family ever since."Arizona lowered her head even further, suddenly finding her breakfast extremely interesting.Emily, meanwhi
{Third person's pov}Arizona was sitting on the couch of their shared bedroom, her eyes were fixed on the book. Her exams were getting closer and she needed to focus, she glanced at the clock and it was past 12 in the night.And Everett? he was still in the office, always prioritising his work. She continued studying and after a few minutes the door of her room opened.She looked at the door and he was finally back, looking exhausted. He walked inside and placed his coat on the head rest of the couch."You are still awake?" He asked and Arizona nodded. "Yeah I was studying, sem end exams are close." Everett nodded and walked inside the washroom to freshen up. After changing in his trousers he came back."Should I serve the dinner?" She asked and he looked at the clock. "I will rather sleep, it's late and I am tired." He said.Arizona frowned, "You should eat something atleast." She said and he shook her head. "No, let's sleep." he said as he took the book from his hand and placed i
{Third person's pov}Everett stepped out of his car and opened the door for Arizona, They both walked inside the campus together.Everett was talk of the town and everyone in the college knew him, and seeing Arizona with him people were both confused and curious.Arizona held her bag tightly, she wasn't liking those looks from the students, and what surprised her further was Everett intertwining his fingers with hers.She immediately looked at him but his face was all calm and composed.“If they’re going to look anyway, let them look properly. No one here should mistake you for someone standing alone.”His thumb brushed once against the back of her hand, small, grounding.As they approached the administrative block, a few professors straightened immediately upon seeing him. Students moved aside almost instinctively.Everett didn’t slow down. The authority around him was effortless.But the moment he noticed Arizona clutching her bag tighter again, his tone softened just slightly.“Bre
{Third person's pov}Everett’s expression changed instantly. Something far more dangerous to a man like him.His eyes searched hers for a brief second, like he was making sure she truly meant it.Then, without a word, he opened his arms slightly.The invitation was enough.The moment she stepped closer, Everett’s arms wrapped around her carefully, but completely.One hand settled at the back of her head, the other around her waist, pulling her against his chest with a steadiness that felt protective rather than possessive.He was warm.Safe in a way she probably hadn’t experienced before.And Everett… held her like she was something fragile he had no intention of letting break again.His hand moved slowly through her hair once, calming, while his chin rested lightly against the top of her head.“You don’t have to earn comfort here,” he murmured.The words were low enough to vibrate against her skin.“And you don’t have to ask permission for it either.”For a long moment, he simply sto
