My beauty sleep broke by the loud sound of my Alarm, irritatingly I snapped my alarm and lazily sat up on my bed. - why do I have to attend college everyday? Winter, my favourite season. But I love sleeping during winters, not going out. Sighing at my thoughts I walked towards the washroom - I will get late for the college and then my best friend will kill me for being late. I have rented a small flat here, A small room, connected bathroom and kitchen along with a balcony. After getting a scholarship for the college only this was what I could afford, my parents don't want to spend a big amount of money on my studies. Oh no no no, they are not poor or middle class. I would say they have a couple of billion on them, but they just like spending that money on my siblings - nevermind, I earn some money by working part time. Coming out of the bathroom, I took the blow dryer and started drying my hair. I am freezing right now. After getting dressed up for the day I glanced at my reflection - perfect. Locking the main door of my flat and plugging in my earbuds I walked down the streets, oh my college is about 1.5 km away from my place. I prefer walking, that's great for health too. Finally here I am, I stood at the gate because my best friend, Emily wasn't here yet. She is late as usual. After a good 10 minutes of waiting and freezing, I saw her stepping out of the car. She smiled looking at me and I just rolled my eyes. "Hey Ari," I swear I will kill her for being this loud. "You are again late." Reminding her I started walking inside the campus and she followed me and held my arms. "I am sorry babe, you know the Traffic here right?" Again excuses. "Alright, Understandable" I blurted and She hugged me - this girl is way too clingy, I am not complaining tho. We were sitting in the class and Emily was talking non-stop, her old habit. "Ari I am way too sleepy, you know we were awake the whole night because of Emma's wedding. Well the actual reason wasn't her wedding, we were watching movies all night." Emma Is her cousin, well Emily loves explaining every little detail which makes me admire her more. I never got love from my parents but this girl makes me feel like I have someone to rely on. "By the way here is your Invitation card, you are coming to every function and even staying the night mom said that." She forwarded the card and I just stared at the card. "Emily I can't attend all the functions, you know my parents right? If they find out about it they will bury me alive." We both laughed together. "Ari It's fine, who's going to tell them. They live in a different city and you can just hide it from them the way you hid the fact that you attended Ash's birthday party." Well she is right, but still staying the night - I Can't risk it. "That was a different case Emily, I will attend the functions but I won't stay the night. Will that work?" I hope she understands, because this girl is way too stubborn. "Well that won't work, but understandable, And don't worry I will take care of picking you up and dropping you." She rolled her eyes and I hugged her. I know now I am being clingy, but it's fine she is the only one I act this way with. "I hate you," she is cute tho. "But I love you Emily," I looked at her and she smiled. .......... Currently I was at the Terrace of the William's mension because it was the bachelorette. We enjoyed it, I felt great today, all thanks to Emily. I never knew life could be happy until I met Emily. Everyone deserves a best friend like her. But right now I should book a cab or else if I get late the people of my apartment will start complaining, I don't know why they have a problem with me only. "Ari, let me ask my driver to drop you." Emily offered me but I immediately shook my head in disagreement. "It's totally fine, you should enjoy it. I have booked the cab it will be here soon. Chill" I assured her but she was still requesting to drop me, after explaining to her that I will be fine and Cab is about to come she finally understood - gosh, this girl is way too stubborn. My attention went on my phone when a notification popped up, I stared at the screen 'your cab has arrived,' the notification displayed. I looked at Emily and Informed her before leaving. walking out of the main door I reached near the Cab and opened the door, "Ma'am, Sit in the passenger seat, I like company." what does he mean? sounds like a creep. "pardon?" I don't like his aura already, should I drop the Idea of Taking this cab and book another one? "I mean I fall asleep when there's no one on the passenger seat at night." he explained, doesn't that sound weird? to me it does and to him it should. I took out my phone again and Searched for another Cab, but it was late and no Cabs were available. should I ask Emily? No, I should just take this one. "I will sit at the back only." declaring that I bent down to step in but the smell of Alcohol filled my nostrils. the hell, there's no way I am taking this one. I immediately stepped back but The cab driver held my hands, he smelled like alcohol completely. "what the hell? leave me." I pushed him - dang he is way too strong. from my other hand I slapped him but this jerk was not affected at all. I struggled to get my hand freed from his grip. *smash* just then a punch landed on his face making him fall on the ground. I looked at the source of the hand just to witness A tall guy, heavenly looks - ethereal. I have never seen such a pretty guy in real life. that personality and looks damn. "get the hell out of hear If you don't want to die right." even his voice speaks elegance. deep and melodious, okay so now I am simping over this stranger - Arizona stop staring at him. my inner voice poked and I looked everywhere but him. "Don't you know how to fight?" his question made me look at him, I mean I actually never took training for fighting. I just know a few moves. "I don't," I mean why should I lie. "you should have just kicked his balls." he spoke and corrected his specs - guys with specs hits different. you are again simping over him, well I never stopped. "let me drop you," strange, being asked by a stranger to drop me at this hour. "I am Everett, Emily's oldest cousin By the way." oh finally the introduction, I nodded at his introduction before speaking, "I am Arizona, her friend." "come," I followed him and he walked towards his car I assume. he opened the door of his Aston Martin and I walked towards him. as I settled down I saw him sitting on the driving seat. - even his side profile shouts perfection. "belt," the sudden voice brought me out of my thoughts and I looked at him, confused. "seat belt," I immediately pulled the seat belt. The engine of the car started, the ride was silent, he is not even playing music - boring. "the directions?" I looked at him before explaining the route towards my place, so he is a one liner. the car stopped in front of the apartment, and I held the door's lock to open it. but his voice stopped me from doing that, "Emily told me you were taking a Cab, good thing I came out to check or else, nevermind. I will pick you up tomorrow in the morning. be ready by 10." well he can speak more than one line, not bad. "it's alright, I will manage." I can actually manage. "yeah I saw how you were Managing," he just taunted me, after Thanking him I stepped out of the car and walked towards my flat. my mind was captivated by that Everett guy, he is too handsome to be real, - I should stop simping over my best friend's cousin.{Third person's pov}Everett stepped out of his car and opened the door for Arizona, They both walked inside the campus together.Everett was talk of the town and everyone in the college knew him, and seeing Arizona with him people were both confused and curious.Arizona held her bag tightly, she wasn't liking those looks from the students, and what surprised her further was Everett intertwining his fingers with hers. She immediately looked at him but his face was all calm and composed.“If they’re going to look anyway, let them look properly. No one here should mistake you for someone standing alone.”His thumb brushed once against the back of her hand, small, grounding. As they approached the administrative block, a few professors straightened immediately upon seeing him. Students moved aside almost instinctively.Everett didn’t slow down. The authority around him was effortless. But the moment he noticed Arizona clutching her bag tighter again, his tone softened just slightly.“Bre
{Third person's pov}Everett’s expression changed instantly. Something far more dangerous to a man like him.His eyes searched hers for a brief second, like he was making sure she truly meant it.Then, without a word, he opened his arms slightly. The invitation was enough. The moment she stepped closer, Everett’s arms wrapped around her carefully, but completely. One hand settled at the back of her head, the other around her waist, pulling her against his chest with a steadiness that felt protective rather than possessive. He was warm.Safe in a way she probably hadn’t experienced before. And Everett… held her like she was something fragile he had no intention of letting break again. His hand moved slowly through her hair once, calming, while his chin rested lightly against the top of her head.“You don’t have to earn comfort here,” he murmured. The words were low enough to vibrate against her skin.“And you don’t have to ask permission for it either.”For a long moment, he simply sto
{Third person's pov}The bathroom door was still shut, water running softly inside while Everett sat there in silence, staring at the phone resting on the nightstand. He wasn’t angry because she had a life before marriage. But something about the message, about the familiarity of it, unsettled him more than he expected. And Everett hated unexpected feelings. The bathroom door finally clicked open..Arizona stepped out, drying her damp hands slightly before pausing. Because Everett was looking at her.His fingers tapped once against the phone beside him.“Max,” he said calmly. “Who is he?”“And before you answer,” he added quietly, “I’d prefer the truth over comfort.”Arizona sighed, "Just a classmate from the college." She said and sat infront of the dressing table to dry her hair.Everett watched her through the mirror, “Classmate,” he repeated slowly, like he was testing the word against the message he had read. His gaze shifted briefly to the phone again before returning to her refl
{Third person's pov}Arizona was sitting on the couch and reading a book when Everett came back. As soon as she saw him she closed the book and looked at him, "Should I bring water?" She asked.Everett shook his head, "When are you rejoining your college?" He asked and before she could answer he added."From tomorrow, you should join your college." Arizona blinked, visibly caught off guard.“Tomorrow?” she repeated softly, almost unsure if she heard him correctly.Everett loosened his cufflinks as he walked further into the room, expression unreadable. “Yes,” he said simply. “Why not?”“You’re married, not imprisoned.” The words landed heavier than he intended. His jaw tightened slightly, like he realized something about her silence, but chose not to push yet.Instead, he placed his phone on the table and looked at her properly. “You were studying before this marriage,” he continued, voice calm, practical. “You’ll continue now too.”“As long as you want to study, you will.” Arizona s
