Roman POV:

This was messed up.

I'd stayed in a motel that was thankfully on the outskirts of the area, tossing what was left of my cash on them to get a place to sleep and a bite of food. It'd been a while since I'd been among humans, and I'd forgotten the manner in which some places took care of their surroundings.

These ones were anything but neat, and I’d wrinkled my nose more than five times as I walked into the room they'd assigned for me. It was small, not dirty but still untidy, and I was tired, so I didn't have the energy to fight.

However, as I woke up the following morning to sensing teeth on my leg and opening my eyes to see a rat there, I realized just how full of garbage this place truly was. I couldn't check out and go to another hotel though, since I'd susccessfully spend every dollar I had on their bed and breakfast.

I groaned and stood, my back aching. After the insane run from home, I was too concerned with finding Audrey I forgot that I hadn't taken care of

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 165

Audrey POV: Selena squeezed my hand quietly as we sat in the therapist's office, her eyes conveying comradery and encouragement. But I found it difficult to calm down, my heart beating fast. We'd been directed to his office a while ago, and he was apparently being held back by something. That only served to add to my anxiety. “I told you, Audrey. Don't worry about a thing,” Selena said, her voice soft. “He knows exactly what he's doing.” “It doesn't feel like it,” I muttered. “Why is he late?” “It's out of place for him to be tardy, I have to say,” she responded, looking around. “But don't worry. I'm sure he'd be here soon. In the meantime, I need you to take deep breaths and just…well, just calm down.” I sighed, not finding it in me to refute her. To make up for my lack of enthusiasm, I quietened and looked around the office as well. I hadn’t had a good chance to look at the decor because of my nervousness. It was very minimalistic, but I loved the color scheme of the decor.

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 164

Roman POV: I was disgusted by the creature pacing before me, but more than that, I was worried. Where had it come from? And why was it…different? The creature growled again, as the air became even more pungent with the stench of decay and madness. Then it launched itself at me, claws aiming for my heart. I dodged again, wincing as I watched, almost in slow-motion, its claws slicing through the space where my flesh had been a second before. What the fuck was going on? None of the mutants we’d fought with at the gates had this level of speed and agility. It seemed like this guy was an upgrade, and while that was worrisome in itself, I was more concerned with how it'd gotten into the prison. The building was somewhat ostracized from the general public, so how it- I blinked, bending over as its arm attempted to ram into my windpipe. Fuck. I couldn't be distracted. But how had it gotten here? It didn't really have a brain anymore- or was what left of it had been recharged by ma

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 163

Roman POV: I dragged Tanya through the corridors of the pack's prison, irritated by the sound of her feet stumbling and scraping on the stone floor. Her whimpers were a grating sound in my ears. So she knew how to beg, after all the terrible events she'd joined Marvin in orchestrating? I arrived at the end of the corridor where I planned to keep her, then threw the cell door open and tossed her in, not bothering to be gentle. She yelped and collapsed in a heap, then raised her head, giving me a full view of her pathetic sight. “I told you what you wanted,” she said. “Why are you doing this? You just want to punish me, don’t you?” She was still spewing nonsense. "You're a disgrace to our kind," I growled angrily, making her flinch. "You and Marvin. I can't believe you. Do you realize you aided him in a kidnap? A kidnap, Tanya! What sort of silly affection do you have for him that you would-” “I love him!” she shrieked, stunning me. “I don't have some ‘silly affection’ for him.

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 162

Audrey POV: “Coffee or tea?” came Selena’s voice from the kitchen. I laid the magazine I'd been reading on the table. “Tea. Thanks.” “Coming right up.” She returned a few minutes after with two steaming cups in her hand and handed one to me, then took a sip from hers, humming pleasantly. I smiled at her reaction before taking a sip of my tea. The rays of the afternoon sun filtered through the blinds of her living room, their light streamed across the wooden floor. The television volume was turned down, and was merely droning on in the background. The world was quiet and peaceful; a stark contrast to the storm that raged inside me. Ever since I told Selena about my internal turmoil, the dreams had multiplied. The same wolf, always there. But he’d only ever seemed to see me once, and that was it. I tried hard to ignore the feeling of pain, but in that moment, the hot tea going down my throat didn't burn as much as the pain in my chest did. "Audrey," Selena suddenly said, h

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 161

Roman POV: Marvin coughed, blood dribbling down the side of his mouth, while I held the neck of the knife that was a moment away from being buried in my abdomen. “You lucky bastard,” he coughed, his hold on the knife weakening. I quickly swiped it and tossed it to the side, far away from his immediate reach, and punched him. “That's enough audacity for a day,” I said, massaging my knuckles. He snarled. “Says the person who has the most audacity of all.” I shrugged, oddly feeling smug about the fact that I was the one annoying him for once. “What can I say? I'm an Alpha.” He scowled and attempted to hit me, but missed. I punched him again in the gut, hard. “Stay down, piece of shit.” “Fuck you,” he growled, glaring at me. “Whatever.” I rolled my eyes, then frowned, thinking about the other reason why I was here. “Now, tell me. Where's Audrey?” He stared blankly at me for a few seconds before laughing as long as he could without choking on his own fluid, then gave me a l
