Roman POV:

I should have known the interrogation session was coming. I crossed my legs- an action I seemed to express whenever I was about to pour my heart to him- and placed my hands on my thighs. “Audrey's missing.”

He gave me a small frown of confusion. “Audrey…Audrey who?”

“My mate.”

His eyes widened. “You have a mate?”

I furrowed my brows. “I didn't tell you?”

“Not that I can recall.” He sighed, sitting crossed-legged as well. “What happened?”

“She was kidnapped, then left for dead.” Even as I said it, I felt the strong urge to kill Marvin for this. Perhaps it was truly time for me to do so, whether or not it would incur my father's wrath. He was disrupting every part of my life, and that was infuriating.

“That’s terrible.” He narrowed his eyes, echoing my irritation. “You know who did it?”

“Yup.” I scowled. “I’ve arrested one, but the other is under my father’s protection. If I do something harmful to him, that man will materialize from thin air and try to control m

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 170

Roman POV: “Nolan!” a huge man standing in front of a sportscar outside the hospital yelled, taking my friend's hand and shaking it vigorously. “Wow! You look good, my friend!” Nolan smiled back and shook the man's hand just as vigorously, then released it a while later. “Hugo. What a surprise! I never thought I'd see you in this part of the city!” “Me neither,” said the man, laughing boisterously. “But it just so happens that Yolanda’s sister is giving birth at this hospital, so I had to drive her here.” He rolled his shirt sleeves up, revealing a snake tattoo. “This is quite cozy, Nolan. I can see why you love it here. A bit too cozy for me though.” He laughed again, and I used the opportunity of being virtually invisible to him to size him up. His bronze skin indicated his being a foreigner, and there was a sharpness in his eyes that showed shrewdness. But that wasn't what set off my suspicion. It was the watch he wore that had a grey wolf insignia. Very few got their han

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 169

Audrey POV: Few hours after that strangely beautiful occurrence, I had another vision. Not a dream, and not about wolves. It was about Roman. We'd been lying in a very familiar bed, and he'd had my hand in his, slowly moving his fingers over mine. “You know one thing I'm very grateful for, love?” I'd turned to him, smiling. “What's that?” “The fact that you're beautiful, inside and out.” He pecked my cheek. “You're an amazing woman. I'm in love with a wonderful person. That's what makes me very glad.” I opened my eyes after that vision to see Selena walking into the parlor. She'd just returned from work. “Will Mr. Howell be available by this time?” She gave me a surprised look, was about to say no, then shook her head. “I'll make a call.” I was en route to his office minutes later. “Welcome back, Miss Audrey.” I smiled at Tristan and sat quietly in the chair. “Hi. I'm sorry for disturbing your evening. I just…I had something to offload.” He waved off my apology. “Pleas

Audrey POV: I woke up in the middle of the afternoon after a short nap, but paused when I sensed a dip on the edge of my bed. Someone else was in the room. I opened my eyes to greet Selena immediately, but froze when I saw that it wasn't her. What the- “Hey, babe.” I blinked at the shirtless man sitting by my bed, shocked by his presence. “Um, who are you?” He gave me a hurt look. “What do you mean by that, Audrey? Are you trying to say you don't know me?” He knew my name? I stared at him incredulously, then sighed. “First off, how did you get in my room? Secondly, how do you know me?” He inclined his head to the side. “I'm your mate, love. I'm with you wherever you are. And I know you just as you know me. We're together.” Mate? What was that supposed to mean- A weird pang of pain appeared in my chest, and I winced. He was by my side in an instant. “Are you okay?” he whispered, kneading my fingers gently, his face not very clear in my vision. “Hey. You good?” I huffed

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 166

Roman POV: This was messed up. I'd stayed in a motel that was thankfully on the outskirts of the area, tossing what was left of my cash on them to get a place to sleep and a bite of food. It'd been a while since I'd been among humans, and I'd forgotten the manner in which some places took care of their surroundings. These ones were anything but neat, and I’d wrinkled my nose more than five times as I walked into the room they'd assigned for me. It was small, not dirty but still untidy, and I was tired, so I didn't have the energy to fight. However, as I woke up the following morning to sensing teeth on my leg and opening my eyes to see a rat there, I realized just how full of garbage this place truly was. I couldn't check out and go to another hotel though, since I'd susccessfully spend every dollar I had on their bed and breakfast. I groaned and stood, my back aching. After the insane run from home, I was too concerned with finding Audrey I forgot that I hadn't taken care of

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 165

Audrey POV: Selena squeezed my hand quietly as we sat in the therapist's office, her eyes conveying comradery and encouragement. But I found it difficult to calm down, my heart beating fast. We'd been directed to his office a while ago, and he was apparently being held back by something. That only served to add to my anxiety. “I told you, Audrey. Don't worry about a thing,” Selena said, her voice soft. “He knows exactly what he's doing.” “It doesn't feel like it,” I muttered. “Why is he late?” “It's out of place for him to be tardy, I have to say,” she responded, looking around. “But don't worry. I'm sure he'd be here soon. In the meantime, I need you to take deep breaths and just…well, just calm down.” I sighed, not finding it in me to refute her. To make up for my lack of enthusiasm, I quietened and looked around the office as well. I hadn’t had a good chance to look at the decor because of my nervousness. It was very minimalistic, but I loved the color scheme of the decor.
