Roman POV:

I stumbled backward, hitting a wall behind me. But I didn't register the pain, for my shock was greater.

Julian was dead. Marvin had made that very clear. However, encasing one in a freezer just so you had some meaningnless victory was…

I shut the freezer, feeling the contents of my stomach threatening to regurgitate, and turned around to see Audrey staring at me with a concerned look.

“I- you were taking time,” she said, nervously touching her hair. “So I came downstairs to check if you were alright.” She gazed up at me. “Are you alright?”

She just lost her memories. She just killed a woman, though in self-defense. She'd watched me kill someone else today. We were scruffy and somewhat messed up, and the ideal thing to do would be to yell about how much pain she was experiencing.

Instead, she was giving me a look of worry. “Roman?”

“No,” I responded, hearing the crack in my voice. “I am not okay.”

I took giant strides and moved her into my arms, feeling my heart

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 181

Audrey POV: “That's the Luna?” someone questioned in a low tone as Roman and I walked past some of the buildings under renovation to the safe house's gate. “Damn. I didn't see it before, but she's really beautiful.” I blushed in embarrassment, and Roman chuckled at my expression before pecking my forehead. I stared up at him, feeling love bubbling up from some private area in my heart. I still hadn't gotten most of my memories back, but I was sure that I adored him with all my heart before the head injury. That was why, in this crowd of numerous people who were bowing to us as we walked by, I felt at ease with the mere fact that he held my hand. As had been the custom for a few days now, cheers followed our way to a private bunker that had been set for us the moment we walked in, and Roman locked it behind us when we entered, pinning me against the wall. “Finally,” he breathed, his words tingling my skin. “I have you all to myself.” “I've not exactly been able to go anywhere,

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 180

Audrey POV: “Dumbass,” Julian scoffed, before being escorted away by some construction workers. Roman chuckled, wrapping an arm around my waist and pulling me close. The moment we'd returned, we'd called for a meeting- actually, Roman called for a meeting. I just went because I was his mate- and informed some people who he called elders and family heads on the situation at hand. He grimly explained the state of the compound, and they surprisingly took it in stride. Then he appointed a woman named Charlotte to be in charge of the rehabilitation project. Renovations for the the pack compound had started in earnest, and although Julian stubbornly wanted to take on the responsibility attributed to his role as Beta, Roman had just placed him on house arrest. He'd been cooped up in the makeshift infirmary underground, and hearing Roman give him an Alpha command placing him on house arrest made him sadder than normal. But he’d be alright, according to Roman. And I didn't doubt it. In

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 179

Audrey POV: I sat quietly, staring up at the stars. Despite the hour, I didn't feel afraid or worried for Roman. Perhaps it was because we were at a temple that I felt oddly at peace, but at least I didn't feel unpleasant. The sound of a twig breaking attracted my attention, and I whirled around to see a young woman approaching me. Her hair glittered in the moonlight, and she looked almost otherworldly. I was about to greet her, but paused when I recalled Roman saying that everyone was underground except the bad guys- the Crimson Wolves, he'd called them. This woman had an aura of peace, so why was she out here? “Hello,” she said when she'd reached me. “How are you?” “Um, hi,” I responded sheepishly. Was she a bad person too? She seemed to have stepped out from the temple. The temple. Was Roman okay? “Roman's alright, Audrey.” I heaved a sigh, then blinked, realizing that she'd answered me as though she knew my mate, and wondering if I'd spoken my thoughts out loud. “Yo

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 177

Roman POV: I almost couldn’t believe my eyes. But the facts were right in front of me. I looked with disgust as Jacob repeatedly slammed into Tanya, oddly reminded of the time I walked in on Margrave doing that as well. The two were going at it with so much passion, completely oblivious to the fact that they had an audience. Tanya moaned out loud and stretched downwards, while Jacob added more force to his thrusts, grunting loudly. The fact that I'd imagined Audrey in that position multiple times did not help matters at all. It was time to put an end to this. “You should be ashamed of yourselves.” They froze simultaneously, whipping around to we me and my mate. While Tanya's face twisted in pure fury, Jacob's had an easy smirk on his face. “Please,” he jeered. “You wish you were here.” “Her mate just died,” I replied annoyedly. “And the next thing you do is elect yourself as her new fuck toy?” Tanya growled, pushing herself off the wall while Jacob slid out of her. She'd c

Audrey POV: He joined me within minutes, and I found myself relieved that he hadn't been lying. Then he held my waist, pushed a certain area on the wall in (I hadn't even known that it'd been there), and gripped me tight as it opened slightly. “Hang on,” he said in my mind, before speeding through the space and sidling into a dark corner. “I'm trying to check the compound for signs of life above ground.” I nodded, half understanding what he was talking about. He'd briefly explained the safe house situation, so I kind of got the gist and looked around, my gut wrenching. The area was full of dead people, some with their limbs pulled out of their sockets. I turned to Roman's chest when I couldn't take it anymore. He still carried me in his arms, and I marveled at his strength and he moved stealthily. Then he paused at a point and narrowed his eyes. “The pack house,” he growled out, but in a low tone. It didn't fail to startle me, however. “They're at the pack house.” “How many?
