CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR - REJECTION

It was a wolf!!

So that's why Stanley didn't say anything! Was he afraid of what I was going to find after bringing me to the shop of someone from his pack?! That's not how things work Stanley... I had to have my head ready for a moment like this. I took a deep breath and tried to relax, but I soon noticed the wolf's gaze on me. He raised an eyebrow and I noticed that his smile had faded a lot.

“This is Sarah, the wolf I was talking about. Stanley approached me. The wolf kept looking at me and I kept looking at him, not knowing what expression to make.

In fact, a worry hit me that maybe he'd catch a bit of our scent, since just a few minutes ago, we'd been making out madly in that tiny fitting room. I swallowed hard and noticed Stanley's gaze on me.

"So you're the lone wolf everyone's been talking about..." He leaned closer and even though the word "lone" was mentioned quite emphatically, I didn't feel any insult or affront coming from him. Different than I imagined. "Nice to meet you
