CHAPTER EIGHT:The Alpha's Order

SELENE'S POV.

The world faded into nothingness. I didn't even feel myself hit the ground. One moment, I was struggling to drag my feet toward the stream, the next darkness swallowed me whole.

I don't know how long I lay there, minutes, hours, maybe days. My body was numb, but my wolf whimpered weakly inside me, her once-vibrant spirit now flickering like a dying flame. I was lying there, I could hear what was happening around me but it was looking like I was in another world.

Meanwhile, in another part of the forest, Caleum's men were still moving through the shadows. They slept and woke up very early. Their mission had been clear, to find Selene and bring her back. Caelum's orders echoed in their minds: If you return without her, I'll kill you. If you value your life so much, do everything possible to find her or you die."
