SELENE'S POV.

The air in Caelum's chamber was heavy, choking, and quiet. I could feel his aura from where I lay on the man's shoulders. My eyes fluttered weakly open, vision blurry, but I caught a glimpse of him standing tall near the window, his back to us.

"As soon as Caelum saw his men," he turned sharply, his voice cold as ice.

"Where is she?"

They all froze.

I heard the tremor in the leader's voice as he answered, "Alpha... she's the one we are carrying.'

Caelum's head snapped towards them. His golden eyes flared dangerously.

"What did you just say?"

The men exchanged nervous glances.

"It's Selene, Alpha. She's.... she's unconscious. We found her near the stream, drifting in and out of consciousness.

There was a brief silence. Then his tone dropped lower, calm but deadly enough to freeze blood.

"Is she still alive?"

I held my breath. My heart thudded painfully in my chest. That question alone told me what I already knew, he didn't care if I lived or died.

"She's alive, Alpha,"
