AN HOUR EARLIER
"Thud!" The plates of food crashed to the ground, slightly missing the head of the keeper of George's Berger household.
The bare store house would now be the home of one of the most admired people in the world.
He was at the peak of his fame, and at the height of his career when the second accident of his lifetime occurred, sending him to his wheels.
"A wife they disguise it? Why don't they just come plain and tell me that they are getting someone that's going to mock me each day and remind me of my torn state!" George growled with anger.
The state of his disability had gotten him here. Bitter, ragged, and broke him into shambles. And the news of having a wife out of all the sea ladies that used to flock at him was a mockery of his name.
"I would rather pick the option of being hanged on a tree than being entangled with someone who's going to mock me all my life!" George returned with fine lines scattered all around his face.
George spun the chair around, ready to leave the place to his deep dark room that had always been his hideout.
"They won't be able to consider you anymore as someone worthy of being the CEO if you reject this proposal!"
These words that echoed into the ears of George suddenly made him pause. His face squeezed into itself and his hands were clenched tightly until they bled.
His teeth gnashed and his body quivered with rage. "I won't have you going shopping with me today!" George growled with anger as he rolled away.
Mr. Jones signed, his heart dropping to the bottom of his feet. His young master always wanted to do things himself when he needed the most help at the moment.
He has always known the lively nature of his young master right from birth, being the direct assistant of his mother until her untimely death.
After her death, and having a father who was always busy and a cruel stepmother, Mr. Jones had to eventually step in the gap to take care of his young master.
A deep breath sank deep into his lungs and he sighed once again.
"Please, God. Bring someone that's going to heal the body and heart of my young master!" Prayed Jons
BACK TO THE PRESENT.
If there was anything, her daughter was trying to be nice to him. However, it turned out that there were a hell lot of other bitches in the world apart from the Lincolns.
Approaching the young man, with the earth trembling under her raging feet, she quickly raised a crying Arizona from the floor.
Her eyes blazed at the young man who had put her daughter in such a position. She wanted to yell at him and put him in the place that he was supposed to be.
However, Lucy's guts seemed to have suddenly run dry of words as her eyes interlocked with the stranger's.
The face of the man was fully masked, leaving out only the vital points of his face even when it wasn't Halloween yet.
But just the state in his eyes forced Lucy into a sudden pause. It sparkled and radiated, a sense of familiarity rising through her.
Or maybe it was her brain that was trying to play a trick on her. But one thing that she could tell, her feet were firmly rooted to the floor, and her heart pounded.
"What are you staring at? My broken legs?"
"What are you going to do next? Tell me how bad a suit is going to fit into me. Or tell me that a child would be better than me in this state.
Is that the reason that you sent the little rascal to me?" His voice dripped with cold arrogance, stabbing through the heart of Lucy and making her stumble in her steps.
Her face contorted into a sour expression as she was suddenly knocked off from her thoughts. Her lips tightened into her mouth as she was snapped out of her gaze.
That was the same person that she was trying to have some sort of sympathy for and her daughter was trying to help out.
"Some people don't deserve any good!" Lucy returned with a sense of disdain written all over her tune at this moment.
"And you are even worse than a such people."
The young man in the wheelchair pricked with anger. Her hands shuttered weakly with the anger that surged throughout his vines.
Whatever that was happening, it had to be the family trying to make a mess out of his life, after causing him to go through another accident once again.
His body shook with rage and his hands shot Lucy.
"How dare you speak to me in such a tone?" He growled. "Do you even realize who I am!"
"Obviously! a useless man stuck in a wheelchair and wants to throw a tantrum at everyone because of it!" Lucy's words ran blunt and icy cold. A sharp deadly knife that could easily cut through the hardest heart.
"You!" The teeth of the young man gnashed against each other.
"You are just as pathetic as everyone else. And soon everyone is going to see it. You're just a bitter soul and I doubt you will be able to keep that child for long."
The words shook Lucy to her bones, causing sweat to drip from her face as she was taken aback in her steps.
"I don't want to lose you, Mommy!" Arizona sobbed her tears wetting the chest of Lucy.
Meanwhile, the young man watched, the grin that formed on his face was flushed with utter satisfaction.
He had finally been able to hit Lucy at the point where she was going to break.
Lucy's hands were clenched tightly. The chills that ran through her spine initially suddenly morphed into anger.
Her face inched closer to the young man as she spat right in his eyes. "Now I realize why you are stuck on that chair, just the perfect place for you!”
Lucy was glad for the company of her daughter. She was certain that she could have died of silence if Arizona had not been with her in that haunted house. The sound of eerie music playing inside her head that night sounded like it was echoing from several corners of the building, but she knew that it was just her head messing with her. “Just a few hours in this place, and it already feels like my entire world is about to crash,” Lucy muttered, and then she turned to look at her daughter who was already asleep.Initially, she was worried that Arizona was going to demand something to eat, but from the look of things, they both lost their appetites as a result of the cold demeanor of Gregory. “How am I going to survive this? Save me, Lord.” Lucy prayed silently, and then she took a deep breath.Mr. Jones had assured her that Gregory was going to come around, but it didn’t look like that was ever going to happen.Twice, they had started on a very wrong foot, and she was convinced that
It would have been easier for the housekeeper to think that the young master was joking, but he knew that he no longer knew what a joke sounded like ever since he got involved in the accident. “Mr. Jones?” Gregory gave him an inquisitive stare, waiting for him to do as he had instructed. “That’s the woman we have been waiting for, Master Gregory. She is your wife.” He said calmly, pointing at Lucy who stayed quiet while she watched the two men argue. “I don’t care! Send them away!” Gregory insisted, but it looked like that was going to be one of the times that Mr. Jones was not going to do his bidding. Arizona had moved to stand close to her mother, wary of the fact that Gregory sounded so mean and annoying at the same time. He didn’t look like anything that her mother had told her he was like.Lucy had spent so much time, trying to convince her daughter that Gregory was a good man. The poor girl looked like she was beginning to warm up to the idea of living in a new environment b
Gregory had several thoughts running through his mind, but none was more annoying than the thought of being forced to get married against his will.Worst still, it was to a lady that he had never met before, or so he thought.Mr. Jones walked in slowly and stood before him. “She is here, Master Berger.” He waited to hear a response from Gregory, but nothing came out of his mouth. He sighed. “I will just send her in.” He said calmly, and after waiting for a few seconds, he bowed and left. Gregory groaned in both anger and pain, struggling with the intense echo that reverberated inside his head as he looked through the casement window, staring at nothing in particular. “I am sure they prepared the devil for me to marry.” He muttered, grinding his teeth as he searched for solace. “Only the devil would agree to this kind of stupid agreement.” His vex increased, and it wasn’t long before he heard the sound of footsteps approaching from behind him. From all indication, it wasn’t just Mr.
George's eyes brightened, a flicker of rage, mixed with the rough aura of confusion, rushed through his vines as he stared into the eyes of the stranger.Even with his lowly state, most people would rather avoid him rather than directly confront him.Besides, it was a fact that he was a Berger, the most dreaded family in the city. And as though that wasn't enough, her hands caught a firm grip of his jaw,.causing his lips to pop up like that of a little child.George could feel the blood rush through his vines as his eyes met with the flames in the eyes of the stranger."Don't you ever dare treat any child in such a manner against " She roared, swinging his face off from her path.Lucy clutched the hands of Arizona as they stomped off from the hall while George watched from behind, still frozen in state. After a few moments, he snapped off from his daze with his shoulders slumbering to the ground. He growled rage passing through his eyes. His body quivered with fury and the heat boil

"Remember this is a contract marriage. You're not to fall in love with George or do anything extra out of the ordinary!" "You're to make his meal. Make his bed and make sure he is comfortable.” Lucy was also well aware that she was being made into a second hand maid, since the arrogance and bitterness of the disabled CEO have chased almost all the workers away.“You must never let him find out that Arizona is your daughter! Make some explanation in your head!"Lucy had been memorizing these rules in her head ever since. Her mind clustered with thoughts as she moved around like a living ghost. Before moving into the house of George, they needed to get a few things. Even though she was going to be given off to a cripple that everyone had eventually ruled out and had named worthless, being a member of the Berger family, one of the most prominent families still held a strong weight around his head. And if there was anything about the Lincolns, it was having a good name."I wonder why sh
