Gregory had several thoughts running through his mind, but none was more annoying than the thought of being forced to get married against his will.

Worst still, it was to a lady that he had never met before, or so he thought.

Mr. Jones walked in slowly and stood before him. “She is here, Master Berger.” He waited to hear a response from Gregory, but nothing came out of his mouth.

He sighed. “I will just send her in.” He said calmly, and after waiting for a few seconds, he bowed and left.

Gregory groaned in both anger and pain, struggling with the intense echo that reverberated inside his head as he looked through the casement window, staring at nothing in particular.

“I am sure they prepared the devil for me to marry.” He muttered, grinding his teeth as he searched for solace. “Only the devil would agree to this kind of stupid agreement.” His vex increased, and it wasn’t long before he heard the sound of footsteps approaching from behind him.

From all indication, it wasn’t just Mr. Jones who walked into the room, he was accompanied by Lucy and Arizona.

“They are here, Master Berger.” Mr. Jones announced, but Gregory refused to turn around.

Mr. Jones turned to Lucy, his eyes showing a plea for patience. Then he cleared his throat and returned his gaze to the young master.

“Master Berger.” He called out to him again, but this time, he made sure that his voice was louder than earlier.

“Leave us,” Gregory said, his voice laced with so much annoyance. It was so intense that Mr. Jones didn’t bother to say even a word.

He simply glanced at Lucy and her daughter before he walked away.

Meanwhile, Lucy had been staring at Gregory from the moment she walked into the room.

First, it was all about curiosity about the man she had agreed to marry, and then it became about some kind of familiarity while she stared at him from the back.

“Why does he look so much like someone I know?” She asked, staring from the corner where she stood.

While she was busy with her mind, Arizona spent her time admiring the old but aesthetic building. Every corner seemed to be an invitation for her to look to the next.

From the look on her face, she had already welcomed herself to the new home, and there was no indication that she was ever going to have any need to leave.

“Hello?” Lucy was exhausted from the silence. Especially with the fact that the man she was to live with had not come to welcome her and her child.

Even though Mr. Jones tried to make an excuse for the young master, she could tell that she wasn’t welcome in the mansion.

“Mr. Berger?” Lucy waved, but she wasn’t expecting to hear any response.

“What kind of person are you?” Gregory finally got rid of his silence, but it was very hard for Lucy to understand what he meant.

“Is this how gullible you are?” He asked, causing Lucy to switch from a curious expression to a frown in an instant.

“Excuse me?” She was vexed, but it didn’t look like Gregory cared about the way he spoke to her.

“I thought I had met people with issues of desperation, but yours is an understatement. You are very desperate.”

Lucy thought that she had encountered people with dirty demeanors, but no one seemed to be equal to that of the supposed man she was getting married to.

“I won’t have you insult me, Mr. Berger. You don’t know me!” it became a struggle between Lucy’s pride and her emotions.

It was hard for her to just stand there and watch the disabled man insult her because she had been forced to marry him.

“Just so you know, I didn’t think this was a good idea. I just agreed to do it because I had no choice.” Gregory had found the perfect excuse to give for his attitude, and it sounded like he was going to hold onto it for a very long time.

“I didn’t have any choice, either,” Lucy said, but what followed was a scoff from Gregory.

“That’s impossible to believe. I know people like you, who jump at every opportunity they get to make money. Very pathetic!”

Lucy grunted in annoyance, and the only reason she didn’t pounce on the disabled man was because she feared for the safety of Arizona.

Then Gregory decided to turn around. He grabbed the wheels and turned them slowly. “Let’s see if you are as ugly as I thought or even more.”

Lucy was also interested to know what he looked like, and when they finally set their eyes on each other, a loud gasp left her.

“You?!”

“You?!” They both fired almost at the same time, and then Gregory turned to the door at once.

“Mr. Jones! Mr. Jones!” He yelled, glaring at the door as though it were the reason for his annoyance.

Not long after, Mr. Jones abandoned everything that he was doing and rushed into the room.

“Is everything okay, Master Berger? I left everything I was doing.” Mr. Jones looked at everyone in the room while he waited for someone to speak.

“Why did you let them in here?!” Gregory asked with an enraged tone, pointing at Lucy and Arizona. “These two shouldn’t have been let into this place! Send them away at once!”

Mr. Jones was confused. He turned to Lucy, but she didn’t look like she had anything to say. But the look on her face showed both anger and disappointment.

Arizona had been trying to get her mother’s attention, and it didn’t seem possible until she dragged her hand. “Mummy? That’s the bad man from the mall!” It was amazing how she was able to remember Gregory, but quite unfortunate that their encounter was very unpleasant.

“Send them away!” Gregory fired, turning to Mr. Jones who thought that he as joking at first until he saw the look on his face.

“I am bemused, Young Master. That’s your wife.” Mr. Jones tried to be as polite as he could, turning to face Lucy whom she pointed at.

Lucy was glad for the company of her daughter. She was certain that she could have died of silence if Arizona had not been with her in that haunted house. The sound of eerie music playing inside her head that night sounded like it was echoing from several corners of the building, but she knew that it was just her head messing with her. “Just a few hours in this place, and it already feels like my entire world is about to crash,” Lucy muttered, and then she turned to look at her daughter who was already asleep.Initially, she was worried that Arizona was going to demand something to eat, but from the look of things, they both lost their appetites as a result of the cold demeanor of Gregory. “How am I going to survive this? AN HOUR EARLIER"Thud!" The plates of food crashed to the ground, slightly missing the head of the keeper of George's Berger household. The bare store house would now be the home of one of the most admired people in the world. He was at the peak of his fame, and at the height of his career when the second accident of his lifetime occurred, sending him to his wheels."A wife they disguise it? "Remember this is a contract marriage. You're not to fall in love with George or do anything extra out of the ordinary!" "You're to make his meal. Make his bed and make sure he is comfortable.” Lucy was also well aware that she was being made into a second hand maid, since the arrogance and bitterness of the disabled CEO have chased almost all the workers away.“You must never let him find out that Arizona is your daughter! Make some explanation in your head!"Lucy had been memorizing these rules in her head ever since. Her mind clustered with thoughts as she moved around like a living ghost. Before moving into the house of George, they needed to get a few things.
