Elysia’s POV
“TYLER? You can't do this!” I cried as I felt my whole world crumbling at my feet. They dragged me out, my protests drowned by the growing murmurs and whispers of those gathered in the halls. Within seconds, the crowd had multiplied. I watched as a shocked Sarah ran in front of Tyler, “Alpha please, this isn’t right! You know Luna Elysia would never—” “Enough you peasant, unless you would like to join her.” his voice was cold. He didn’t even look at me, “Take her.” "Luna!!" I heard Sarah cry out as I was dragged away. The cell they threw me into was dark, damp, and cold. As the guard's footsteps faded, I pressed my back against the cold wall, my hands trembling. My cheek still burned from his slap, but the real pain was what I felt in my heart. "My luna... My Luna" his words rang repeatedly in my head. I didn’t know how long I sat there, crying amidst my thoughts, but the sound of a door creaking pulled me back to reality. "Tyler" I whispered. Tyler was surely coming to explain why this was happening—or maybe it was all part of the plan. Perhaps he had only told her those things to make her believe him. The heels clicking against the stone floor brought me back to reality. Tyler wasn't coming! It was dark, but I could see her outlined figure because of the dim torchlight. She was definitely here to make fun of me, no doubt. “Well, well, look at you— you look so miserable," she mused, stepping inside. I said nothing. She let out a mocking sigh. “Come now, don’t tell me you’ve already given up? Just a few hours ago, you were telling me how much you knew he loved you!” “You already have your answer—just because he thought you hurt me, you’re the one sitting in this cell. Where was that fire of yours when he slammed you against the wall or threw you in here?” She tilted her head, feigning concern. My hands clenched. “I don’t need to hear this from you.” She laughed, soft and sweet, but laced with venom. “Oh, but you do.” I refused to believe her. Even after everything, a part of me clung to the man I had known, to the five years we had shared. She saw the doubt flicker in my eyes and pounced on it. “Oh, you poor thing. I'd leave you to your imaginations, dear”. “What did you do to him? Why did you even come here?” I asked just as she moved to leave, stopping her in her tracks. “I'm not the one that did anything to you, but rather you did this to yourself?” She crouched down to my level, her smile widening. “Oh, darling, did you actually believe he loved you? That’s adorable?” She leaned in closer, her voice a whisper. She stared at me for a while "He said he can't have a wolfless Luna rule his people". Her words hit me like as though an arrow was being shot at my heart.. She saw the doubt flicker in my eyes and pounced on it. “I swear to you”. I swallowed hard. My mind raced. “Then why keep me in the loop for five years?” I asked, trying to find closure. “Oh, yes,” Alicia purred. “Do you want to know why you’re still here and why he hasn’t gotten rid of you yet?” she tilted her head. “Simple… You have something every Alpha desires. He’s spent five years searching for it, and the funniest part? You had it all along, you sly bitch.” My breath hitched. “What?” What was she even on about? “He saved you to keep you close, making the other Alphas believe he already had it,” she mocked, pulling something from her pocket and shining the torchlight on it. It gleamed, but all that was running through my mind was why they needed my late mother’s necklace so badly. “Where did you get that?” Alicia didn’t answer immediately. “There are a lot of things you are oblivious to… I'm surprised you didn't know.” “Know what?” I barked, getting annoyed at her cockiness. “That this—” she began, lifting the necklace, “— was the reason you were cast out of your old pack.” A cold chill ran down my spine. “What games are you playing… my Alpha—he accused me—” Alicia giggled. “Of treason. Of murder, you don't even remember, but it was never about what you did darling. It was about what you had.” Realization hit me like a speeding train. “Tyler… he was never supposed to be there that night.” My voice barely broke above a whisper. “He didn’t save me. He was waiting. He wanted this all along.” Silence stretched between them. She didn’t deny it. And that was all the answer I required. Tyler had never been my savior. He had been my captor all along. My knees nearly buckled, “You have what you wanted, then,” I said, hating how her voice wavered. “What now?” Alicia’s gaze darkened. “Now? I no longer need you.” She turned to the guards. “Do it before the night runs out, he wants her gone by morning!” “No!” She ignored my scream and smiled, “Don’t just throw her out of the pack. Throw her off.” They nodded in silent understanding. Her evil gaze flicked back to me. “Let’s see if fate is kind to you a second time.” “No!” I screamed at her as they grabbed me while I thrashed against their right grip. “Tyler!” “He's not here sweetheart but trust me, he can hear you!” She mocked. “Just let me go, please! Don't do it!” I screamed into the night and watched as she slowly disappeared into the night. “Tyler could never have approved this!” I yelled at them while struggling to break free. I knew where they were taking me. The same place he had once saved me, but this time, there would be no one to catch her. “Please,” I begged, struggling, but they were too strong. The edge loomed closer, the water falling down the waterfall, roared as they crashed against rocks and the pool below. One of them whispered to me, “I’m sorry Luna. please live.” They let go and I plunged into the abyss. The impact hit like stone. The water swallowed me whole, dragging me down, down, down. His voice echoed in my head as I fought against the core, but my body was weak. “I swear to you, I will never choose her over you.” LIES! “All I need is time.” LIES. “I love you.” For five years, he had fed me lies, the signs were there, but I was stuck believing he was the Prince Charming in my Cinderella story. I ignored everything and now… This was it, I let myself go and sank deeper. “Mate…,” my wolf stirred before darkness enveloped me.Elysia’s POV “Elysia,I want to stretch my legs outside.” Lila said, holding her waist. I nodded, it was afternoon already. I was watching Lila through the window half smiling. She had wandered outside a little while ago, pacing near her mum’s the herb garden, her hands moving absently over her belly as she whispered to herself. Probably singing to the baby like she always do. I was happy she was going really great now, looking so cute in her small baby bump. Aunt Liora was humming softly from the sitting room, kneeling by a basket of dried sage. Wondered what she was always doing with those herbs anyways. Looks like she always delivers it to someone, but I wasn’t ready to bother her with any of my questions. I turned my gaze back to the window just in time to see it. A man emerged from the left side of the trees near the fence. He was fast, i barely had the time to process before her grabbed Lila by the arm and yanking her backwards. She stumbled, nearly falling. Her
Elysia’s POVThat morning after the rogue attack. I woke up with a soreness in my arms, I groaned trying to sit on the bed. Aunt Liora had already left the house for her normal early morning garden related things. My room window was close to her compound garden, she usually interrupts my sleep with her movement, but no not like am complaining.Lila should still be in bed, anyways she needed to rest after the whole drama early this morning.I crawled out of my bed to go check up on her, pushing her room door slowly so as not to wake her. Then that was when I saw her, she was sleeping peacefully on the bed and hugging her pilliow.I closed the door immediately, heading to the kitchen. I stood in the kitchen, staring at the chipped edge of the counter, replaying what had happened early this morning in my head over and over again. The man who had appeared from nowhere claiming Adrain sent her. I really don’t seem to like him.Adrain, hearing his name in my head made my stomach shiver in
Elysia’s POVThe house was still and the afternoon sunlight burning through my skin as I stood by the window. Aunt Liora was at the far end of the sitting room, sorting herbs in neat bundle while seated on a woven mat.Lila lay curled up on one of the couch close to aunt Liora, a knitted blanket draped all over her, her breathing slow and steady.I walked up to a couch and sat, thumbing through an old training manual. The old choky smell lingered in the room as I open each pages.I was pretending to read though, I was mostly observing and paying attention to the environment.Lila cheeks looked a little fuller today. She was glowing in a type of different way. Suddenly, Lila jerked upright which made the blanket slip from her shoulders. Her body stiffened, head tilted upward like she was looking through the celling. Her beautiful brown eyes turned a strange, clouded white.Aunt Liora froze like a statue, the herbs tumbling from her hands and her mouth was a bit opened.“Lila?” I whis
Elysia’s POVThe cabin was quiet, too quiet. I leaned on the doorway, I folded my arms, watching Lila sit rigidly on the edge of the couch. Her hands were clasped together tightly in her lap, her hands were tucked in her laps and her eyes fixed on the ground like was waiting for the ground to split open and swallow her up.Aunt Liora stood still across from her, a little distant. There was a cup of untouched tea resting on the table between them. “I’m not angry,” Aunt Liora said finally after a long pause, her voice soft, little shaky. “But I am trying to understand and trying to figure out everything..”Lila’s lower lip trembled and I entered the room quietly, perching beside her. I didn’t say anything though but I reached for her hand, they were shaking and sweaty. I placed my hand gently on hers to calm her down.“I didn’t mean to disappoint you Mom,” Lila voice cracking. “I swear I didn’t plan for any of this to happen.”“Look, I know, sweetheart,” Aunt Liora replied. “It’s don
Elysia’s POVI sat grasping for breath, my vision was blurred and was starting to feel really dizzy. My senses narrowed to just in thing: Adrain—How he made me feel, felt I have been relieved off my stress. I wanted of his lips on mine. Suddenly, his palm slid up my back beneath the hoodie, his hands warm and thick. But he stopped, teasing me as if he already knew I was starting to enjoy it.A needy sound slipped from my throat before I could swallow it. But of Course he did hear it and answered with a low growl.I felt more butterflies in my tummy . But as the desire curled tight in my stomach, I remembered Lila and Aunt Liora.I bet they would be worried by now, I didn’t plan on staying out for this long. Aunt Liora will be really worried.I pressed my hands to his hard chest “Adrain, wait” I said, separating us.He froze instantly and his eyes searched mine. “What wrong?” He asked, his voice husky and gentle.I nodded. “Firstly I am not ready to come back yet.” I said, with sincer
Elysia’s POVI headed to my room, threw on my leggings, a hoodie, and my running snickers, then slipped out the door before Lila could ask where I was going.Jogging usually helped me when I was overthinking too much, but not every time anyway. But as I ran down the familiar path, past the tall trees. My mind couldn’t get over this man. Adrain. Like why are you always in my head jeez.Every part of me wants to see him, like I was dying to see him. But I was afraid, I don’t know why, but whatever.A leaf fell off a tree, then a fallen branch suddenly caught my foot.I stumbled, almost landing on my chest but instead, I landed hard on my hands. “Damn Shit,” I hissed and checked my palms. There was no blood, just scratch.I let out a deep breath and hissed. I stood upright and sighted a wooden bench close by. I got close to it, it was half covered in moss. I sat there for a minute.I stood up again and began to jog, before I could even get far, a strong huge arm wrapped around me from b
