Sarah’s POV

I woke up to the harsh sunlight that crept in through my window. I sat up and squinted, raising a hand to shield my face. I then stretched my hands, a wide yawn escaped my lips and my eyes watered instantly.

However, I felt relieved from the migraine that keeps coming, it has been a while since I slept like a baby.

I was a little tired and felt like staying back in bed for a little more while, but I had to head out and keep Elysia’s company.

I crawled out of my bed to a full length mirror at the left hand side of my bed.

Then I stood still and began staring at the mirror. It seemed my weight had gone up a bit , i kept examining while rolling a part of my hair with my fingers

Instantly I felt dizzy, “maybe getting down the shower would help shake the dizziness off.” I muttered, grabbing my bathrobe from a hanger.

I took off my silk nightgown and wrapped my bathrobe around myself.

I stepped into the shower, allowing the warm water cascade down my back. Right after then , I got out and changed into neat nice clothes.

Meanwhile, I wanted to prepare something for heading out, then I opened the freezer. Took out some eggs, a bottle of milk.

Before I closed the freezer, I could hear sounds of hurried footsteps towards my door.

At first I ignored the disturbing footsteps but then, Bang-Bang! I heard a loud bang on my door. My hands froze and I paused mixing the pancake batter.

Although I wanted to pretend like no one was home, the knock made me really worried. I wiped the flour off my hands and rushed to the door.

I opened my door, “The Luna is hurt.” A little figure informed me and disappeared into the thin air.

“What happened?!” I called, but it was too late . The person had gone.

I didn’t wait at all, I abandoned everything I was doing and bolted towards the infirmary.

That was the only place i had in mind to find her, that was the only place a person that is unwell could be.

My heart pounded in my chest like a gunshot. “Please, Moon Goddess, let her be okay.” My lips moved in silent prayer, my feet barely touched the ground as I ran.

As I neared the infirmary, my hands trembled when I spotted Alpha Adrian sitting outside one of the rooms. His head was in his hands and he was tapping his feets against the ground.

That wasn’t a good sign, my tummy twisted.

I was impatient, I couldn’t wait for the pack doctor to let me in. I wanted to see her condition so I had to let myself in.

I pushed the door open and rushed inside.

“Elysia!” I cried, I felt a mix of emotions— worry, fear and something else as I reached her bedside.

She lay still, her chest rising and falling gently. Her head was wrapped with Bandages and she had bruises on her left arm.

I grabbed her hand gently as tears rolled down my cheeks. “I should’ve been there with you. I should’ve watched over you. I’m so sorry, Ely…”

Alpha Adrian walked in behind me.

His face was blank, I couldn’t read his reaction but I noticed his red eyes.

“She passed out during training. A warrior hit her harder than she intended. She’s been suspended and she will be relieved when Elysia wakes up and explains what really happened ,” he muttered, his voice low and husky.

Alpha Adrain sat close to the chair beside Elysia, he leaned forward then took Elysia hand in his and kissed it.

“Will she be okay?” I interrupted the moment, I lifted up my blouse a bit to clean my damp eyes.

Alpha Adrian nodded, assuming that she would.

Suddenly, someone bagged into the room.

She allowed herself inside the infirmary. Looking at her physique, I could tell she is a warrior.

I could see her face washed all over with guilt.

“Alpha Adrain, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt her like that, I swear it wasn’t intentional.” The warrior knelt down pleading.

Adrian furrowed his brows, “who fu**king allowed you in here.” He muttered, clenching his jaws.

Adrian stood up, “You’re suspended from training duties until further notice.”

Moments later, a sharp knock echoed through the room and the door creaked open

“I tried to stop her Adrian” I noticed a fine handsome man made his way in , he had a slim body that was toned, he stood tall with broad shoulders and a chest that stretched his t-shirt.

The moment my eyes landed on him, Everything around me faded. I didn’t mean to stare for so long but I just couldn’t help it.

“Take her out and …, before Alpha Adrain completed his statement , the warrior left the room without saying another word.

Adrian looked at me then back to Elysia, he looked really worried about Elysia. “I’ve stayed long enough. Someone needs to stay with her

“Kyle, my beta will watch Elysia while I am away.” He swiftly said, pointing at the young man that came in a few minutes ago.

He didn’t wait for my response. He pressed his soft lips on Elysia’s forehead that surprised me, then walked out quietly.

After he left , the Alpha’s beta smiled at me which made my cheeks burn and sent cold shivers down my spine.

“I’m Kyle,” he said as his lips curled into a smile.

He walked over to Elysia, he glanced at the heart monitor.

Then he leaned against the wall with his arms folded. “And you are ?” He asked with a smile.

“I…I’m Sarah, her best friend.” I said stuttering , pointing towards Elysia.

“Nice to meet you, Sarah,” he said, a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

He walked up to the seat beside Elysia and sat on it, “She’ll be fine, her vitals are stable.
