Elysia’s POV

“If I wait for someone to train me, I’ll be waiting forever.” I muttered.

I tied the worn laces of my boots, tucked my hair beneath the hood of my cloak, and crept past the pack house with quiet steps.

“Don’t wait for anyone to make you strong, Elysia.”

Those were the words my mother once told me, a long time ago.

They echoed in my mind as I tightened the laces of my boots and pulled the dark cloak over my shoulders so no one would notice me.

No one knew where I was going not to, not even Sarah, not even Adrian.

I didn’t inform anyone where I was going.

Especially not Adrian. I didn’t need him watching over me like I was fragile or like I was some kid or something .

If I was truly going to be Luna someday, I couldn’t just sit back and wait to be rescued or protected by him. I had to protect myself.

That’s why I was heading into the forest alone.

“Moon Goddess, please keep me safe” I said a silent prayer.
