It had been four weeks since that explosive encounter, and while the sting of our argument still lingered, I had learned to navigate my emotions a bit better. I focused on the positives — my newfound friendships and conquering my anxiety while walking through the crowded hallways filled with scrutinizing eyes. Though many make snarky remarks with sinister whispers, labeling me as an outsider and a poor omega, Leilani has always had my back.

I had also grown closer to Zane and his group of friends, a development Leilani initially disapproved of. But over time, we both realized that they weren’t as bad as the rumors suggested. Sure, they were temperamental and a little stuck-up, but they were surprisingly carefree and kind, welcoming us into their circle with open arms.

Yet, I could sense the tension brewing in Ace. With his refusal to address our issues as mature adults, he resorted to other methods to make it clear he hated it. At first, it started with glacial glares and passing ins

“Damn it!” For a second, I thought it was one of those creeps, but it turned out to be just him. “What’re you doing, you f*cking pervert,” I snapped, glaring up at him.“Pervert? You’re acting as if I haven’t seen you completely undressed,” he smirked, lifting a shoulder lazily. “Are you shy all of a sudden, now that I’m here? You weren’t like this last time.”I turned around, ignoring his comment. Don’t give in, Sets. This is how he strings you along to play his childish games. With my silence, there was nothing but the distant sound of waves crashing, the only audible sound surrounding us, as I waited for his departure until I heard a soft thud. Against my better judgment, my eyes snuck a peek over to him. Only to find his shirt had already been discarded, tossed behind me as his fingers toyed with the waistband of his pants. Then, without a word, he tugged them down—boxers included—and stood there, fully bare, completely unfazed. My breath caught. I didn’t mean to look, well, I tr

His sudden demand to sleep in the same den as me caught me by surprise. I was about to question him, my mouth opening to voice my disbelief, until I realized the look on his face. One that dared me to challenge him so he could string me along. But, I didn't give him the satisfaction. Instead, I busied myself with the coconuts. Not taking his words seriously.By the time I cracked open the last coconut, the sun hung low, casting long shadows across the beach. My arms ached as my fingers grew raw from peeling and smashing husks against the sharp rock I had found.Ace hadn’t said anything since earlier. He just sat there with his arms crossed, radiating heat that had nothing to do with the sun. Not that I cared. It was peaceful with his trap shut, allowing me to work in peace. The crunch of sand under heavy boots pulled my attention from the coconuts I’d been stacking. I brushed my palms against my pants as four unfamiliar figures emerged from the treeline—clearly, the rest of our team.

The heat of the sun scorched my back as I trudged through the sand, my eyes scanning for potential paths to climb the steep hills leading to the towering mountains. The easier, the better. That way, we can preserve our energy by taking an easy route instead of wrestling with thick underbush and hanging vines. Setiray, as stubborn and reluctant as she was, soon caught up with me. I shot a sideways glance at her, unable to ignore how her wet clothes clung to her body. Even though it was black, providing skin coverage, it was thin enough for the outline of her bra to show. Her pants hugged her curves like a glove, exposing her figure that lurked beneath. My eyes trailed her, reminiscing about how god-damn sweet she tasted. How firm yet soft her breasts felt. My hands itched to grab her, Nathaniel demanding that we pursue her and make her ours, properly this time. She was both distracting and infuriating. If this is how I saw her, there’s no doubt those other f*ckers wouldn’t think twic

The boat chugged to a halt, bobbing on the gentle waves, about two hundred meters before the shoreline. I squinted against the bright sunlight, taking in the scene before me. The island stretched out like a lush emerald gem surrounded by the deep blue of the ocean.Palm trees swayed in the gentle breeze as mountains rose behind, their peaks crowned with trees and thick underbush. It gave me a sense of freedom and relief that I'd be out of Lester's range. Out here, there’s no way he could infiltrate it. It may be an island, but it’s basically in the middle of nowhere. But it’s not impossible. He had shown me that the impossible is very much possible, somehow sneaking past security and onto campus, even sending a photo of me in the auditorium. So, who’s to say that creep wouldn’t follow me here? Everyone would think that he was an obsessive ex-boyfriend and not my father if they saw my phone. Goosebumps rapidly formed on my arms as a shiver skated down my spine. My mind in confusion-ov

As if I would seriously do that. I didn’t go through the trouble of arranging for her to be on my team, only for me to send her away.“What the f*ck is your problem? I’ve apologized many times, but you’re being so damn immature!” She snapped. I leaned back in my chair, watching her with a mix of annoyance and intrigue. Setiray was a tempest, and I couldn’t help but admire her fire. Sure, I was pissed when she mentioned my mother that day, but I also saw how fiery and snappy she can get—unlocking a new interest in her. I thrived on the way her emotions shifted, the way she bristled at my words. It made me want to push her buttons even more until she was on the brink of exploding. It was a dangerous game that I was willing to play. She could reject me out of anger, or even reveal my identity as Ace. Nathaniel, as annoying as ever, insisted I stop my petty games. But I didn’t want to. At first, I started this little thing because I was bitter, but over time, I found it satisfying.“Look
