Chapter thirty-eight

Shawn's POV 

Abbigail and I walk into Beth's hospital room the next day and she was in instant tears when she saw me. Melanie took the baby from her and I climb in next to her. I no longer felt pain when I moved, only if there was too much pressure on my side then I felt pain.

I comfort her and Abbigail sat feeding Michael a bottle. "Am I hurting you," Beth asks in a choked whisper, afraid to lay against me. 

I wrap my arm around her and pull her closer to me. "I'm okay, it's my right side," I say in a soothing whisper and she lets out a calming breath. 

"I wouldn't have let her leave the house if she was in critical pain," Abbigail says quietly. 

Abbigail's eye surgeon knocks on the door quietly and I meet him in the hall. "I was told you were here," he says softly and looks in at Abbigail. "Do you think she'd be willing to get the implants sooner? Your obgyn has been keeping me updated and mentioned that she was no longer expe
