‎She furrowed her brow, the anger bubbling up inside her as she stared at him, wondering what had made him think that she was trying to seduce him. The idea made her blood boil. Did he really think so little of her?

‎Her gaze hardened, and she crossed her arms over her chest as she let the words fly out of her mouth, each syllable dripping with annoyance. "What makes you think I'm seducing you? Rating you from one to ten, I can't even give you a one," she said, her voice sharp and cutting. She locked eyes with him, not backing down for a second.

‎He stared at her, his expression a mix of amusement and curiosity. His lips twitched upward, barely containing a smirk. He could sense the heat radiating off her, but it only made the challenge more enticing.

‎"Then why did you wrap your hand around my neck, if you’re not seducing me?" he asked, his voice laced with a teasing edge. His eyes flicked over her face, studying every inch of her features, every muscle in her body that tensed and twitched with frustration. She was undeniably beautiful, even in her anger, and for a fleeting moment, he felt something stir within him. It was dangerous, the kind of attraction that made his pulse quicken, but he wasn't about to back off.

‎Her lips curled into a sarcastic smile. She leaned in just slightly, her voice dripping with irritation. "Because you irritate me," she spat. "I wanted to get rid of you, and it worked. So don’t flatter yourself." As she spoke, she place both hands firmly on his chest, guiding his body away from hers as though she had the power to push him into submission.

‎For the first time in his life, he froze. The words stung more than he expected. Embarrassment flickered across his face, a rare vulnerability he quickly masked with a flicker of amusement. He stood there, unsure of how to respond, his usual cocky confidence faltering for just a moment. But then, an idea formed in his mind, an idea that made his smirk deepen, a plan that might push her buttons in ways she wouldn't see coming.

‎Seeing the shift in his expression, she narrowed her eyes, immediately sensing that whatever was brewing in his mind wasn’t going to be good. Her instincts screamed at her to be on guard, but it was already too late.

‎"Since you called me a pervert earlier," he said, his voice darkening, "then I guess I’ll just act like one." His grin stretched wider, something dangerously playful dancing in his eyes. Before she could react, he closed the distance between them, capturing her lips with his in a kiss that was bold, uninvited, and full of intent.

‎The shock of it hit her like a jolt of electricity. For a split second, she forgot to breathe, her thoughts scattered, her body frozen in place. This wasn’t just a kiss; it was a challenge. It was a message, clear as day, one that said he wasn’t going to back down. And whether she liked it or not, he was in control now.

‎“What wh…” she tried to speak, but before she could finish her sentence, he had already captured her lips with his. His hands, firm yet gentle, gripped her slim waist, guiding her closer to him. She gasped softly in surprise, her breath hitching as his presence engulfed her entirely.

‎Seeing her struggle against the intensity of the kiss, he couldn’t resist teasing her. With a slight bite to her lower lip, he coaxed a soft yelp from her, an involuntary sound that only gave him more room to deepen the kiss, devouring her mouth with an urgent hunger.

‎Her body, trembling slightly, leaned into him as if she couldn't pull away even if she wanted to. But when she felt herself running out of breath, she pulled back, though reluctantly, as her chest rose and fell quickly. He let her go, his lips lingering on the edge of her mouth as he gently cradled her head in his arm, offering some support.

‎She looked at him, a mix of confusion and anger in her eyes. “What did you just do?” Her voice shook slightly, not from fear, but from the storm of emotions rushing through her. She pushed herself out of his arms, glaring at him with a fierce intensity.

‎A teasing smirk spread across his lips as he watched her, still recovering from the kiss. “I can show you again, if you'd like,” he said playfully, his gaze dipping to her soft, inviting lips. His throat went dry, his desire for her growing as he swallowed hard, his words laced with something far more daring than before.

‎Her eyes flashed with fury, her breath coming in sharp, shallow gasps as she shot him a glare that could burn. “I will make you regret this,” she hissed through gritted teeth, her voice filled with a defiant edge as she turned away, taking a few steps toward the road.

‎He chuckled softly at her words, his smirk never fading. “Looking forward to it,” he replied, his tone still light but underlined with a challenge. He casually leaned back against the car, resting his weight on his hands as he shoved them into his pockets. His eyes roamed over her form, taking in the way her body moved, the way her disheveled hair framed her face.

‎But it wasn’t just the way she looked; it was the little things that caught his attention, like the dust and dirt on her shoes, the ones she’d used to stop him earlier. He couldn’t help but smile wickedly, knowing she’d never be able to get away from him, not truly.

Edward already knew what Anthonio was thinking. Even without hearing the words, he could see them written all over his loyal assistant’s face—the hesitation, the fear, the careful calculation of how much truth to reveal. Edward’s sharp instincts had not dulled, even if his memories had.‎“Don’t worry about my headache,” Edward said quietly, his voice firm despite the faint tremor beneath it. “I just want to know.”‎‎Anthonio had no choice. He drew in a long, heavy breath, as if preparing himself to reopen wounds that had barely healed.‎“You had a girlfriend before your accident,” he began slowly.‎The words hung in the air like smoke. Anthonio’s mind unwillingly drifted back to that terrible day—the screams, the flames, the deafening explosion. ‎On Jackson’s end, he had just stepped out of the hospital building, the automatic glass doors sliding shut behind him with a soft hiss. The late afternoon sun hit his face, but he barely noticed the warmth. His mind was still replaying Conrad’s words over and over again, as though his brain refused to accept the truth so easily. He had only come to the hospital to confirm what Conrad told him earlier, thinking there was a slim chance the results might prove otherwise. Yet here he was, standing in the open parking lot, gripping the folded test report in his hand like it might suddenly vanish.‎‎He was still surprised by the result, but more than that, he was overwhelmingly happy. A laugh escaped his lips before he even realized it. For years, he had always carried a tiny hint of doubt in his heart that Aria might be his daughter. It had never been strong enough to voice out loud, yet it lingered quietly in the back of his mind, especially whenever he looked into her eyes or heard her

After Claire finally settled down in her small apartment, dropping her handbag on the chair and slipping off her shoes, a strange heaviness lingered in her chest. The quiet of the room felt louder than usual, and the events of the day kept replaying in her mind like a stubborn echo. The image of Edward standing in the amusement park, so close yet so distant, refused to fade. Her heart still beat faster whenever she remembered his confused gaze, the unfamiliar calmness in his eyes, and how he had simply walked away without his usual possessiveness. She moved toward the window and stared outside for a few seconds, watching the streetlights glow softly against the darkening sky. A deep sigh escaped her lips. She needed to talk to someone, someone who understood the past she had tried so hard to bury.
