‎"Where are you heading to?" he asked, his eyes glancing at her as she sat on the passenger seat, her posture composed and relaxed, almost detached. There was a certain calmness to her, an air of self-assurance that was hard to ignore.

‎She tilted her head slightly, raising an eyebrow, and with a smirk tugging at the corners of her lips, she answered, "Bravo company, going for an interview for the personal assistant position." Her tone was casual, but the way she raised her shoulder just a little higher than usual seemed to suggest something else, as if to remind him, whether intentionally or not, that she was in control of the situation, and he was, well, beneath her.

‎Edward's brow furrowed as the words settled in. "Really?" He asked, surprised. He hadn’t expected her to be applying for a role in his company, let alone one so personal, working as his assistant. He couldn’t quite picture it.

‎"Yes, of course," she replied, the small, almost playful smile on her lips betraying a certain level of satisfaction. She clearly enjoyed the mystery she had just dropped into the conversation. It was like she was toying with him, revealing just enough to keep him intrigued but not enough to fully understand what was going on.

‎Edward's thoughts swirled in a strange mix of amusement and curiosity. He tried to imagine what it would be like, her, working in a role so close to him. What would she think when she found out that the very company she was trying to impress was actually his? What would she feel when she discovered that he was the one who would be calling the shots? He could already see it: the look on her face when the truth came out.

‎He chuckled under his breath at the thought, his fingers tightening slightly around the steering wheel. His mind wandered for a moment, wondering if she'd be as confident then as she was now. Would she maintain that same air of superiority? Or would something change once she realized who she’d be answering to? A mix of intrigue and anticipation surged within him.

‎"Interesting," he said aloud, glancing at her sideways, his gaze flicking back to the road ahead. He allowed a subtle smirk of his own to tug at the corners of his mouth, though his tone was as nonchalant as ever.

‎She shifted in her seat, her eyes narrowing with suspicion. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice tinged with confusion, and perhaps a hint of challenge. It was clear she didn’t quite understand the undertone of his words, and for a moment, he could see the mask she wore crack just slightly.

‎But Edward wasn’t about to give her the satisfaction of explaining. Not yet.

‎As they cruised down the bustling street, the steady hum of traffic and the constant blur of city lights around them seemed to fade into the background. His mind, however, was anything but still. He couldn't help but wonder if he would be able to keep his composure. There was something about her, something that tugged at him in a way he hadn’t experienced before. He tried to pinpoint what it was: was it her striking beauty, her aura of effortless grace? Or perhaps it was the undeniable confidence she exuded, which seemed to fill the space between them with a magnetic energy. He had never felt anything like this with anyone else before. It was new, thrilling, and at the same time, unsettling. There was a strange pull he couldn't quite explain an electric charge that made his heart race but also left him feeling inexplicably at ease.

‎Meanwhile, Claire eyes fixed ahead, seemingly lost in thought. Her mind, like his, was busy, but with thoughts of a different kind. The weight of the future hung heavily on her shoulders. She was on the verge of a significant new chapter in her life, and the opportunity at Bravo Company was a pivotal moment. The kind of opportunity that could change everything. As much as she was excited about the prospect, she knew it wouldn't come easily. There would be challenges ahead, but she was ready. She had always prided herself on her ability to meet challenges head-on, and this time would be no different. She was determined to make the most of the chance she had been given, no matter the obstacles.

‎"Have you done your research about the boss you're going to be working with?" he asked casually, glancing at her briefly as he steered the car through the city streets. His tone was light, but there was a hint of curiosity in his voice. He wanted to know what she thought about him.

‎She turned her head slightly toward him, her expression thoughtful as she considered his question. "Well," she began, her voice steady, "he's rumored to be demanding, arrogant, and ruthless. But... I’m ready for the challenge. If I’m chosen for the position, I’ll give it my all."

‎Her words came out with conviction, and there was a spark in her eyes that made him take notice. She wasn’t intimidated by the rumors; if anything, they seemed to fuel her determination. She had already decided that this was the path she would take, and nothing, no matter how difficult, would stop her from giving her best. Her confidence was palpable, and it made him admire her even more.

‎As he processed her words, something inside him clicked. He had already made up his mind. There was something about her, her strength, her clarity, the way she faced challenges head-on, that struck a chord deep within him.

In Edward mansion, Edward and Lucy was on the the dinning enjoying their meal. The grand dining hall of Edward’s mansion shimmered beneath the warm glow of crystal chandeliers. The long mahogany table, polished to perfection, reflected the flickering candlelight placed carefully between plates of exquisite cuisine. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the night sky, while silk curtains swayed gently from the breeze of the central air. Servants moved silently in the background, trained to be invisible, ensuring that every dish was replaced the moment it cooled.Edward sat at the head of the table, his posture straight, his expression composed as always. His sharp jawline was illuminated by the golden light, giving him an almost sculpted appearance. Lucy sat to his right, dressed in a cream silk dress that hugged her figure elegantly. ‎Lucy was a bit caught off guard, but she hugged him back, smiling cunningly. “Yes, it’s me,” she answered softly.‎For a fleeting second, she almost forgot why she was here.‎‎Edward’s embrace was warm—too warm. Edward already knew what Anthonio was thinking. Even without hearing the words, he could see them written all over his loyal assistant’s face—the hesitation, the fear, the careful calculation of how much truth to reveal. Edward’s sharp instincts had not dulled, even if his memories had.‎“Don’t worry about my headache,” Edward said quietly, his voice firm despite the faint tremor beneath it. “I just want to know.”‎‎Anthonio had no choice. He drew in a long, heavy breath, as if preparing himself to reopen wounds that had barely healed.‎“You had a girlfriend before your accident,” he began slowly.‎The words hung in the air like smoke. Anthonio’s mind unwillingly drifted back to that terrible day—the screams, the flames, the deafening explosion. His expression darkened, grief flashing briefly across his face before he forced himself to continue standing upright.‎‎Edward blinked, surprised. “Girlfriend?” he muttered under his breath, staring at Anthonio as if the man had suddenly st

‎On Jackson’s end, he had just stepped out of the hospital building, the automatic glass doors sliding shut behind him with a soft hiss. The late afternoon sun hit his face, but he barely noticed the warmth. His mind was still replaying Conrad’s words over and over again, as though his brain refused to accept the truth so easily. He had only come to the hospital to confirm what Conrad told him earlier, thinking there was a slim chance the results might prove otherwise. Yet here he was, standing in the open parking lot, gripping the folded test report in his hand like it might suddenly vanish.‎‎He was still surprised by the result, but more than that, he was overwhelmingly happy. A laugh escaped his lips before he even realized it. For years, he had always carried a tiny hint of doubt in his heart that Aria might be his daughter. It had never been strong enough to voice out loud, yet it lingered quietly in the back of his mind, especially whenever he looked into her eyes or heard her

After Claire finally settled down in her small apartment, dropping her handbag on the chair and slipping off her shoes, a strange heaviness lingered in her chest. The quiet of the room felt louder than usual, and the events of the day kept replaying in her mind like a stubborn echo. The image of Edward standing in the amusement park, so close yet so distant, refused to fade. Her heart still beat faster whenever she remembered his confused gaze, the unfamiliar calmness in his eyes, and how he had simply walked away without his usual possessiveness. She moved toward the window and stared outside for a few seconds, watching the streetlights glow softly against the darkening sky. A deep sigh escaped her lips. She needed to talk to someone, someone who understood the past she had tried so hard to bury. Without thinking too much, she reached for her phone and dialed Cleo’s number. The phone rang twice before Cleo answered.“Hey Cleo,” Claire said immediately as the call connected.“Hey Clai
