DONALD

I entered the room, and noticed that she was sitting down in a meditative pose. As soon as I entered, I noticed how her nose twitched. Her eyes opened and she saw me, and I could tell how the metaphorical shutters in her eyes closed shut, a terrible sign for the moments to come. She clearly did not want to talk.

But we did need to.

“Good morning, love,” I said as I set the tray on the table, and watched as she got up. I briefly admired the way her jens clung to her curves, but then reminded myself of why I was here in the first place. “I think that we should talk this morning.”

“About?” she asked, looking a bit dismissive.

“What happened last night,” I clarified, crossing my arms over my chest. She frowned, then finally sighed, turning to me. I could see by the way her eyes looked tired that she had not slept well last night either. “Julie, what is the problem? Tell me, so that we can figure out a way from there.”
