Chapter 1

Chapter one

Julie’s POV

“Oh no! Julie the Rogue is here, run!”

“That demon is going to kill everyone!”

“Take whatever you can, we’re leaving this Pack!”

“Our Pack is doomed, Julie is here!”

We among the several voices I heard from the terrified members of Black moon Pack. I hadn’t even set my foot into the Pack yet, I and my army of fifty were only parading by their borders. A devilish smile crept to my face, I was definitely going to enjoy the chaos that was about to set in.

“Julie, looks like these people are aware of her presence. What should we do now?” Sharon, my best friend asked beside me. I stared into the sky, the moon hung brightly amidst the stars, the winds were gentle, my gaze returned to the deep forest before us.

“What we usually do, take all their valuables and destroy the Pack. And above all,” I paused as I turned to my rogue werewolves dressed in black who were already preparing to launch.

“Kill anyone who tries to stop you. Go.” I ordered, they instantly rushed past me with their Werewolf speed. Dashing into the forest like hungry wolves. My teeth gritted and I felt a seed of anger sprouting slowly in me. I hated this calmness, I hated the gentle breeze, I wanted more chaos. I want to hear their cry of agony, I want to see fire razing their houses, I want the winds to be fiery. I want them to know that the demon, Julie the Rogue, was going to end Black Moon Pack history tonight.

My eyes changed into its werewolf color, a dangerous shade of golden yellow. Claws extended from my fingers and my canines bared into the chill air, my ears grew slightly pointed. With that, my senses were heightened. I could see, feel and hear better. I growled and as the next second came, I dashed into Black Moon Pack in a split second. I brushed past twigs and branches with ease, the winds slammed against my body with each racing step I took. I could already hear the signs of Black Moon Pack army trying to fight back but it was going to be hopeless for them in the end.  They were no match for my army.

A werewolf suddenly came trotting to my direction. His eyes were gleaming golden yellow, his scent was strong. No doubt, he was the beta of the Pack.

“Stop right there!” He ordered as we both came to a halt a few meters before each other. “I’m not going to let you take a step further into my Pack.” He growled with eyes full of resolve. I scoffed.

“Quite bold of you to say that, boy.” I retorted and he growled again.

“Boy? I am the Beta of this Pack!”

“And I am Julie the Rogue. I’m sure you’ve heard of that name.”

“You think that makes me scared of you?” He huffed.

I chuckled in a sinister manner.

“Many Alphas have lost their lives in my hands, let alone Betas. I don’t know where your courage comes from, but I’ll give you one chance to run.” I growled, staring at him deeply so he found it impossible to waver from my gaze.

“I would rather die than be a coward!” He barked. I trotted towards him in a blink of an eye and I thrust my left arm into his chest, grabbing his heart.

He coughed out blood, his eyes reverted back to normal, his canines and claws retracted too. The courage he once had vanished, he reeked of nothing but fear.

I grinned devilishly.

“Please…” He stammered, his eyes twitching as if they were going to fail him soon.

“Oh? Wouldn’t you rather die than run?” I mocked, his lips parted but not a word escaped his mouth.

“What a coward.” I heaved a light sigh. I pulled my hand away and immediately smacked him unconscious. I stared at the wound in his chest, it was going to take him at least a few hours before the hole closes up. By that time, everything would be over.

“Idiot.” I scoffed before trotting towards the Pack House. That was where the real treasure house was. As I arrived at the Pack House compound, the guards protecting the building took to their heels. I could barely resist the urge to laugh, just my presence alone made them lose their courage. At least it saved me the energy of fighting weaklings.

I was about to take another step but then the Pack House door opened and a middle aged man came out. He was tall and bulky and from his aura alone, I knew he was the Alpha of the Pack. I frowned as he walked towards me with no hostility. That was what surprised me, he didn’t show any will to fight unlike his Beta. He suddenly stopped a few meters before me, holding my gaze as the wind blew between us.

“Whatever tactic you’re planning to use on me is not going to work. Your Pack has fallen tonight.” I started.

“I know.” He mumbled with faint sadness hinting in his tone. “When I heard of your arrival tonight, I knew there was no saving my Pack.”

“Yet your Pack Members still dare to fight me back.” I growled.

“It is our territory after all, we would defend it till our last breath.”

“You say that, but you, the Alpha, chose to stay in your house while your Pack is in jeopardy. Aren’t you hearing their screams?”

“I was waiting for you.” He calmly replied. My eyes squinted at him.

“Fighting against you would just be asking for a death wish. So I want to bargain with you.”

I stared at him for a while, trying to decipher what was truly scaling his mind. But his countenance was in agreement with his words.

“Spill it.” I ordered.

“I want you to mind link your members, tell them to stop their rampage, spare the lives of my members. And in return, you can have anything you want.” He explained and I took a step closer to him. He still remained calm.

“It feels too easy. Although I came to this Pack for the treasures and wealth it possesses, I also came here to cause Chaos.” I moved closer till we were only inches away from each other. “The answer is No.”

“Please, I swear on my daughter’s life. I’ll give you the treasures and every other thing you want. Just spare us.” Faint traces of tears appeared in his eyes. My gaze darted to the door that slowly opened for a young girl peeking.

“She’s all that I have left.” He toned with so much pain minting alongside. I stared at the little girl who was probably just five or six. In a way she reminded me of my past. My eyes reverted back to their normal light blue color while my claws retracted. I inhaled deeply.

“I guess the moon goddess grace saved you, Alpha.” I mumbled and he heaved a deep sigh of relief.
