I got to the venue in my ballgown feeling extremely overdressed for someone who was working that night.

I had decided to wear the dress but not the rest of the things which I intended to return after the event. In fact, I was carrying a spare dress. I just wanted Richard to know that I had not rejected his gift but once he saw me, I was planning on changing into something more pratical.

I didn't want to give Richard any wrong ideas. I was unable to commit to any one new yet when I was still dreaming of Xavier coming to take me away and tell me how sorry he was to let me go. Giving hopes to anyone else would be unfair to them.
