I woke up pressed against something firm but warm. Definitely not a pillow.

Then the scent hit me - cedar and leather with that underlying musk that was unmistakably Xavier. My eyes flew open to find my face buried in his chest, one arm slung possessively across his torso, our legs tangled together like we'd been wrestling in our sleep.

I tried to subtly extract myself, but his thighs were like steel traps pinning me in place.

"Watching you squirm is adorable," Xavier's sleep-rough voice rumbled above me. "But I've been awake for twenty minutes."

I jerked back like he'd electrocuted me. "What the hell are you doing in my bed?"

"That's funny," he smirked, propping himself up on one elbow. His hair was deliciously messy, morning stubble shadowing his jaw. "Last I checked, you're the one who begged me to stay."

My face burned. "I would never—"

'Actually,' Dahlia piped up in my head, 'you totally did. Clung to his arm like a koala. It was pathetic.'
