Chad's POV

Dane and I arrived at the hospital in record time. The first person we encountered was Dr. Grace, Fort's mate. She rushed into my arms, clearly shaken. Fortunately, we had werewolf doctors available at the human hospital for situations like this. I gently patted the distressed woman on the back while Dane handed her a handkerchief so she could wipe her tears.

"I'm sorry, King Chad." She says with trembling lips as she steps back.

"What happened?" I asked.

"He was found in a dark alley, bitten up and barely alive. He had my contact number on him, and the police called me." She says, and more tears run down her grey eyes. Her black hair was pulled up in a messy bun. She looked so young and frail. Just then, I heard an extra heartbeat.

"Grace, are you pregnant?" I asked cautiously.

She nods. We all knew how terrified Fort was of her getting pregnant. He was afraid she would end up like Dane's first mate. She was human.
