Chad's POV

As I look at Bella sleeping peacefully in the hospital bed, all the recent events replay in my mind. Hudson has grown bolder. He almost killed one of my most trusted men, and now he has attempted to kidnap Bella. I brush a strand of hair off of her face, making her pout in her sleep. Fuck, she's my life. I'll be damned if I let Hudson take her.

I study her intently. That display of power in the common room was impressive. She must be part witch. I will not press her for answers. She will tell me when she's ready. I kiss her hand as guilt gnaw at my insides. I lost control. Hendrick just saved her, and I attacked him like a lunatic. I couldn't help it, though. Cobalt had been on edge about him.
