Kimarhi - Lion Island - Day before the Summit

Waking up refreshed, I realize the bed is empty; Lorcan left late last night. I fight back the tears as I feel very lonely now. It happened in such a blur yesterday. I was fated, and he was mine. Lorcan also gave me more than I bargained for, that’s for sure. Our first time together was magnificent. He wasn’t angry with what we did, nor did he hold it against me.

The fated bond is no joke; I have seen others living it, like Theo and Helena, but only experienced it for the first time yesterday. It isn’t easy to feel happy when he isn’t here. I force myself out of bed, not realizing I’m crying. All this will be an adjustment. I’ve never had to rely on anyone, and now my heart feels emptier.

I felt this way when Lorcan was talking with his father yesterday. I was nervous about announcing him to my people as their King. It’ll be fine, and he must fulfill his family obligations before returning to me to his new home.
