ALFRED POV

“Say that again!”

“Sir?” the soldier asked as he glanced at me, looking momentarily surprised, then he announced sharply once more, “the lady is in the company of a young wolf, with the lady Simone, at the market place, sir!”

“Calm down Alfred” Andre said calmly, “we don’t know anything here for sure, so it won’t be advisable to fall into conclusions right now.”

“Yeah Alfred” Marcus chipped in, looking unbothered, “she is with Simone anyway, what can she do or you want to tell me that Simone is in on this too?”

I closed my eyes as my thoughts drifted far and I didn’t know what to think. I know she couldn’t possibly be seeing anyone, because as Marcus said, she is with Simone, but what then is it?

She had claimed not to know anyone here and is unfamiliar with these lands, but there she is, in a company of a young wolf….

“Andre…” I said calmly.

“Yes Alpha” he replied with his eyes wide in surprise at the sudden change of my countenance.
