Kael's POV

I woke up to the weight of warmth pressed against my chest, the soft scent of jasmine and forest earth after rain filling my lungs.

Elara.

She was tangled around me like a vine, her legs intertwined with mine, her face buried in the crook of my neck. Her breathing was steady, soft, peaceful.

I didn't move.

I just watched her.

The way her lashes rested against her cheeks. The way her lips parted slightly as she breathed. The way her hair spilled across my arm like silk.
