LOGINElara's POV
My father stared at me in confusion as I stared at the stranger in front of me. He was the same man who had kissed me a few minutes ago at the reception. How the hell did he get here before me? “You… you just kissed me, downstairs! How did you get up here before me?” I asked in shock and he stared at me in confusion, his brows furrowing at my accusation. “I'm sorry, have we met before?” He asked and I scoffed in disbelief, still remembering the feeling of his lips on mine. “What do you mean?” I asked in frustration. “What is wrong with everyone today? You kissed me out of nowhere at the reception. Then you walked away. And now you're here… how is this even possible?” “You're making a mistake, miss.” He replied, shaking his head. “I wasn't the one who did all that. I've been here for over an hour now.” He added, and I stared at him in confusion, then at my father. “Then who…how… what is going on?” “Sit, Elara.” My father finally said and my legs moved on their own as I made my way to the couch. “I'll get back to you, Kael. Thank you for your time.” He said to the hot stranger and they shook hands. Kael glanced at me once more, his gaze lingering on me a little too long before he finally walked out of the office, leaving me with Father alone. “What's going on? Am I actually going insane?” I asked in confusion and he chuckled before taking a seat beside me. “No, you're not. The one you met at the reception wasn't Kael. You must have met his twin, Draven.” He explained and my eyes widened in realization. “They're twins?” I muttered to myself as my face heated up with embarrassment. “I must have embarrassed myself in front of your important guest,” I said and he let out a sigh, shaking his head. “Not quite. The thing is…” He paused for a moment and my brows furrowed. “Did something happen, Father?” I asked and he sighed again, making me worry. “The thing is, I'm no longer the owner of the company.” He said and my blood ran cold as I stared at him in shock. “What? What do you mean you're no longer the owner? You built this company from scratch!” I exclaimed in confusion but he heaved so heavily that I felt it in my soul. “See, Elara, we're going bankrupt and I've tried… I've tried so hard to keep us afloat. But it keeps collapsing and right now, there's nothing I can do about it anymore. So selling it to the Nightborne twins is the only option.” He explained but I wasn't having anything he was saying at that point. “What do you mean? Why didn't you tell me all this while?” I asked in despair. “You spent your life in this company, you watched it grow. And now you're gonna sell it off to some strangers? For the money?” “That's where you're getting it wrong, Elara. They're not just strangers. They're my pals. Although I'm way older than them, we've known ourselves since we were quite young and I trust them to handle the company. They watched it grow after all. They'll take care of it well.” He reassured me and I let out a sigh as I stared at his stressed face. I was glad I returned. He would have had to take all of this on his own. “I'll keep this place safe, I promise. I won't let it collapse.” I said to him and he nodded in relief before patting my head. “My little girl isn't so little anymore.” He whispered and I smiled at him, trying not to tear up so he wouldn't worry about me. “I need you to help me remove everything that belongs to me here and pack it up so the twins can take over. You're their personal secretary now.” He added and I hummed in response, unable to utter a word. When he left the room, I looked around, a sense of nostalgia hitting me when I remembered how I used to hang out here when I was a teenager. Father taught me everything I needed to know here, and without him, it would feel empty. Letting out a sigh, I took out a box, unfolded it, and started to push everything inside. I cleaned the place without even realizing that I was doing so much work. When I realized I had cleaned the entire office, I scoffed to myself, smiling at my handwork. The door suddenly opened, and I turned, expecting to see my father walk in, but my smile immediately faltered when I saw one of the twins step in. I didn't know who he was, if he was Kael or Draven, but he started approaching me, and I took multiple steps backwards warily. “What do you want?” I asked, my voice shaky as he kept coming closer until my back hit the desk and he stood in front of me. I was trapped between the desk and him right now. I glanced at his lips, gulping at how luscious they were, and that was when I noticed a mole on his lips, the same one I had seen when he kissed me earlier. “You're Draven,” I muttered and he looked at me in surprise, his brows raising as to how I recognized him. “What do you want from me?” “Simple.” He spoke, his voice rumbling something in my chest and without warning, he grabbed my waist and lifted me so that I was on the desk. “What the hell are you doing??” I asked in shock and to my horror, he parted my legs apart and stood there, his hands firm on the desk as he stared at me. I wouldn't even deny it, this had to be the hottest thing I've ever experienced in my life. My legs were almost wrapped around him and if anyone stepped in right now, they would think he was fucking me on this desk. And honestly, I didn't hate the idea of that. “You have no idea what I want to do to you. I know what you are.” He whispered and I looked at him in confusion. “Excuse me?” “I will fuck you right here, on this desk. And you will beg me for more.” He whispered again and I froze, my body heating up at his words. Fuck.Elara's POV “Get away from me,” I said calmly, ignoring the fact that I was extremely turned on by whatever the fuck he was doing right now but he simply smirked.“And if I don't?” He asked, causing me to swallow as I placed my hand on his chest wanting to push him away.“I'm married,” I muttered, ignoring the muscles under his shirt as I tried to push him off me but he didn't budge. “Someone could walk in and get the wrong idea.” “Let them. You want this anyway.” He whispered, and I sucked in a sharp breath before doing what needed to be done.I slapped him hard, and his face tilted to the side just a little before he chuckled, a low, dark chuckle that twisted my insides.“Was that supposed to hurt?” He asked, clearly amused and I stared at him in surprise, expecting to get his ego hurt so he would pull away. But he didn't.“I'll do worse if you don't move away. I told you, I'm married.” I reminded him and he snorted, his fingers gently tracing my cheeks.“You’re married to a man w

Elara's POV “You won't even let me work with my father?” I asked in despair and Rowan scoffed. “You want me to stay here and suffer like your slave?”“I know what you want to do, Elara. And I won't allow it. My words are final. You will stay home and not leave until I allow you to.” He growled and I pulled at my hair in frustration.“What do you want from me, Rowan?” I asked in despair. “I've given you everything you've ever asked for. But you won't even let me live my life in peace? What have I done to you? Was it a crime to love you?” “I don't give a damn about your sentimental acts, Elara!” He yelled and I flinched in shock. “I'm your husband. I won't let you go out there to fuck other men when I didn't give you permission to.” He growled and I scoffed in disbelief.“So this is what it's about. Me fucking other men. You think I'm as promiscuous as you are? You think I'd throw myself at anyone just because you do the same?” I yelled back and he suddenly grabbed my chin harshly as
Elara's POV As absurd as the idea felt, I wanted to believe that something was awakening in me. Because that movement earlier, it wasn't just a random chest issue. Something stirred in me. I grew up believing I didn't have a wolf. I was mocked for it, even; some told me I'd never find a mate.Could it be that my wolf had been dormant these while and was waiting for a moment to awaken? Was this why the bond between Rowan and me was drifting apart?I was so deep in my thoughts as I sat on the couch that I didn't notice Rowan walk down the stairs with Monalisa behind him. Only when they walked past me did I finally notice and I didn't bother to glance at them twice before making my way upstairs.“Elara.” I heard Rowan call to me as I reached the top of the stairs and I paused. “We made quite a mess. Clean up the room for me, will ya?” He asked and I heard Monalisa snicker while I clenched my hands into fists.I simply walked away without responding as I made my way to the room where the
Elara's POV I never thought my life would turn into this. I was technically the talk of the town and not in a good way. After that discussion with Rowan, he flaunted his freedom to the world. He was rich, handsome and the world knew him. So of course, news about his open relationship spread far and wide. The worst part? Girls flooded him like moths to a flame. I became the mocked wife, the invisible housewife who did nothing but sit at home and watch her husband live his life.On Monday he was seen with Carolina. On Tuesday, he was with Sarah. Wednesday, Charlotte. He had a different girl for every day of the week, and he never tried to hide. He was public with his freedom. Cameras caught him kissing different celebrities, holding hands with them, and even being in intimate positions with them. And I? I was the obedient wife. I was going insane but there was nothing I could do about it. Last night he had come home drunk and reeking of women's perfume. I had cried in the bathroom beca
Elara's POV “I want an open marriage.” It felt like time had slowed as his words echoed in my head. I had just woken up, my brain was still trying to process why I had married him in the first place and now I was hit with… this.“What?” I questioned groggily, wondering if I heard him wrong. “It's 6 am in the morning, Rowan. Today isn't April 1st, is it??” I asked, pushing the blanket off me.“You heard me, Elara. I have thought about it a lot and I've decided that I now want an open marriage.” He said like he was making an announcement and I stared at him in confusion.“We've been married for just six months, Rowan. I… I've given you everything I've ever had. I've done nothing but love you and be a good wife to you. Why would you suddenly want an open marriage? Does it even make sense? We're mates. What kind of mate wants a fucking open marriage? You know what cheating does to your partner’s wolf.” I asked in despair, and he simply leaned against the wall with his arms crossed over
