Chapter Three

Adrian POV,

With my eyes still locked on Linux a frown begins to form on my forehead.

"My Alliance with Alpha Alfanso Torricelli shouldn't be a bother to a rogue."

"You know it's everyone for themselves in our world." I grit out.

"Same goes for anything here, while you think I can help you I don't have to meddle in what is not mine." The corner of my mouth curves and I let out a chuckle.

"We don't have business ties anymore, you're no longer the Alpha's heir." Alpha Linux matches his chuckle with mine mockingly.

“Right now it is.” My gaze snaps back to Marilyn, who’s still refusing to look at me. "Tomorrow, it might be a different story altogether," I mutter.

"I have no intention of helping you." He steps forward. "Let's resolve this amicably and not create a scene."

I might be one against multiples, the man before me wasn't completely clueless about how ruthless we can be when we're angry, the Raven pack had destroyed a lot on their own without siding with any of the modern Pack.

My eyebrow raises and my eyes sharpen on him. "It sounds interesting," Alpha Linux shakes his head. "But you've chewed into my patience for a peaceful resolve." I grabbed my car keys from the bunnet.

Leaving Linux on the road side I staked through the crowd, I could sense Marilyn as her eyes darted to mine, and before she could glance away, I captured them with my own. Her lips part, but when she doesn’t answer me, I drop my voice low with warning. " I've changed my mind, little daisy."

"I do not wish to be your mate, Stranger." With every word leaving her mouth the mystery surrounding her deepens, I have never met someone like her before, most wolves are eager to be with their mate after meeting them and with a man like me I was sure I am everything needed in a man, the standard and the position only that I have an impediment; I was exiled from my pack, a rogue. They're drawn by their hormones I thought looking into her eyes. From what I have seen Marilyn is nothing like them. I would say she's scared and broken straight out.

A server passed by with a flute I took from the tray and then sipped the bourbon. "Does your parent know this?'' I wait for her reply.

Marilyn only shakes her head.

"Why are you pretending?''

I feel a hand tug at my shoulder, her jaw drops and her hand shakes around the flute. I drop my voice and ask her. "Why are you pretending like you're not going to die like a coward?''

Fear danced in Marilyn's eyes then she let out. "I'm not going to die."

Nothing she says adds up, and it has me bending a little forward. I take hold of the tumbler and twirl it slowly before my eyes snap back to hers. I basically ignored every of Linyx attempt to snap me out of the suite.

“Careful, Marilyn. I don’t like secrets. If it’s your intention to die for someone that doesn't give a fuck about you out there, then I suggest you rethink it.” Marilyn swallows hard, and then she rises to her feet. She gives Alpha Linux an apologetic look. "If you don't mind,"

"What you want?''

"I need a pack,'' I demanded.

" You're wrong, this is my pack and you can't come to my house and insult me." Alpha Linux says.

Suspicion slithers down my spine as Marilyn walks away from the table but

then she stops.

I gave him a death glare and burst into laughter. "Damn I wouldn't be here all fried out if that is what I wanted I would have taken it without going through the troubles."

"So, what is it then?''

"I need you to take me into your pack and give me some men to reclaim what is mine." God! I hate the fucker my muscles grind as I expect what he would say, he was just so naive to be an Alpha and to think I will plan a revolt with him he would back down like a chicken.

"That isn't possible, I can't let you implicate us, we are living according to nature and that is what we live, no war."

Alfonso Toricceli is old enough to be taking his last run through the woods. A violent man who takes joy in killing. Even someone as hard as me pities Alpha Linux if he takes a fight against him.

"Fine, I guess I have other things to do here for now while I think of a way." My gaze follows the curve of my mate's hips and breasts before locking onto her face again. For a third time today, something unknown stirs in my chest.

My eyes meet with Alpha Linux. "Taming the wild dog."

He can't turn me down, that was one thing I was confident of, I stop myself from saying more as I take a sip of my wine. I have done my share of killing and certainly do not wish to lay low, I have every urge in me, my muscles screaming I take back what is rightfully mine.

Alpha Linux's eyes travelled around and he took a deep breath setting down the glass of wine.

"I can help you with some cash, Adrian, your father warned every living Alpha of you,"

"To stay away from me?'' I ask as I fish my phone from my pocket to call my father.

"I'm sorry." He murmurs softly not wanting his voice to cry. "Stay at St Louis for now, a flight outside the country will help you with a new identity." He suggests.

I'm Adrian Toriccelli and the blood of the Raven runs through my veins, I'd rather stays and fights for what is mine than run away like a coward.

"Your father owns the Bratva, the pack members are trained just as you, you must be insane to stay back." He instructed.

"I'm not."

"Keep your head low and your guard up." He warns.

"Don't worry about me," I reassure him.

"Impossible." He grumbles and it draws a chuckle from me. In his hand was cash he pulled from his Beta. He force it into my hand and I chuckle dropping it to the ground.

I return to the table. Marilyn's features tighten as it looks like she is tearing a secret from her soul as she admits. "Freedom, I want to end it all."Her shoulders sag a little as she takes a step

away from me. When she turns and begins to walk toward the exit, she whispers. "I want it to go all away."

My gut tells me something is off about this situation, and it demands I dig deeper until I find the answers.

My eyes snap to her friend or her sister, I was sure the lady was either of the two with the concerned look on her face. "Tell me everything."

I will use the last resort I have to stay here, Alpha Linux have no idea what I was up to, if there is one thing about this pack is that they don't allow their kids to be mated outside of their pack, it was a thing of common to keep everyone under check,

"Choose to send me away or let me stay, I have found my mate in your pack, Linux."

Lowering my eyes to the bar, my thoughts are inundated with the looming threat and my mate's surprise arrival when I least expect it.

One thing is for sure, life just got interesting.
