Chapter Two

Adrian POV,

I don't have a clue what I'm doing here yet I'm not completely clueless, I clenched my jaw tight and stared around this neighbourhood, the aura was completely noisy and remote for a city.

"This is where we will be training." The woman said hastily.

A grin tugs at the corner of her mouth as I turn to face her. "I'm here for something else." I break the silence.

The woman's gaze sweeps over me.

"What else could you have been here for? The gym instructor said he would send in a substitute and here you are." She sounds certain. "Without taking much of our time let's get down to the backyard."

My eyes locked with hers. "Are you sure?'' I moved away from her and grabbed myself a place at the corner standing there I lean against the wall on my right.

I take after my father in every way, which has made us closer than any father and sons, very much closer. I'm not just Alfanso Torricelli's heir but his trusted son, but now I am forced out of San Diego into this remote town due to a misunderstanding, friends are a luxury we can't afford, as the heir, well, no more ties with my pack, but Raven pack were the strongest pack and still dominates every other.

"He's been standing there, I thought he was the trainer for me but turns out odd." I overheard the ladies whisper to themselves.

I pull out my cigarette from the stack and light it, stuffing it into my mouth, I'm here for the Alpha of their pack, he dared reject my plea to have a word with him, but somehow I feel this party will lure the lion out of his den if he hears I'm here disturbing his pack member from holding their party. We're naturally feared because we belong to the Bratva.

"Thought you made it clear that you want to get something." Said a voice from behind me. I smoke in and turn my gaze to the pristine bungalow in front of me.

"And I'm getting it," I replied without minding, I turned to look at her, the lady from earlier, I recalled and bent my head to stifle a smile.

She rolled her eyes, placing a hand on her hips. "Why are you disturbing us, you are not from this pack, better scurry off if you've strayed."

I hover close to her. "What do you think? Do the favour of informing the Alpha of your Pack that an intruder is disrupting your privacy." I peered into her dainty brown eyes.

She squeezes her face and I walk to the other side of the wall and smoke my cigarettes then stomp on the remains. "He won't come if you're looking for him, go to the pack house."

"I don't think you want them to know all the details dearest."

She fixes her gaze on me after a few seconds, she says. "That is not by the way. . ."

The doorbell rings and she slides her eyes shut. I cocked my head in the direction of her family member.

"That requires some extra work." Her sister's eyes bulged when she looked at me. "Marilyn get inside."

"Marilyn." I enunciate every word from my mouth.

"I have already informed the Alpha of our Pack." She dropped her arm by her side. "He will be here, better not make the greatest mistake of your life."

"Saved by your sister," I call after Marilyn. She stops, points blank, she says nothing.

"I saw you, the type that cries behind closed doors." I fold my hand around the lighter nonchalantly.

"It's none of your business." She said feeling embarrassed.

"Heartbreak?" Something draws me to her, it wasn't something but my wolf screams to get closer, if anything she already felt the surge between us. The least I expected was finding my mate in this little town. "Probably because you're wet behind the ear. You look at me like you wanted to jump at me earlier. And just now."

"I plan on ignoring that. Don't think otherwise." She darts her case to the trash can.

Not exactly the type to bite around the bush. "Go on,won't claim a mate that got tripped by another man," I knew I hit a nerve seeing her hand balling by her side.

My legs crossed I stood beside my car stressed from standing there, I took a step out and drove to the backyard waiting for several hours. My gaze sweeps over the bungalow house as different people step in and out in preparation for what they call a party. Those that dared look at me, had most of their smiles sashayed. It makes me lift my chin and then I remember to tuck my cigarette stick away under my foot.

I help myself to another drink, and then I watch. I memorize every dark glance, every lingering glare. I keep my head held high under the pressure.

Everyone is bothered by my presence, it's been more than eight hours sitting in my car and walking on some stances with nothing but cigarettes and wine. I know they're not happy with me, fear danced in their eyes.

I will just have to wait a little longer, my gaze dribbles to Marilyn, she looks busy in her red cropped top and sweatpants, on the other side I realized she is stressed but trying to keep up pace with her family. My gaze meets hers and she try to stifle a smile.

Shit! I recall how she almost fainted from crying seeing her from over the window, my heart urged me to interfere but realization cursed through me, I made sure I don't get personal with any of the pack members that way their Alpha Linux will find me susceptible.

"The locals are scared." I heard a voice from behind me.

"Linux," I call taking in his dreadful scent. "Had to pull you from your hunt." I force the wine into his hand. "Or your rest,"

"What are you doing here, Adrian?" He asks not sounding pleased to see me.

"You feel threatened. I'm here to claim what is mine."

"Nothing here is yours."

"Not anymore, this could have been avoided from the onset if you honoured my invite, I mean everyone is gawking at us, wondering what a Bratva wolf is doing in your borders despite your strict rules, old friend." My hand tapped on his shoulder.

"I will have your head, Adrian, better get the fuck out of here while you can." My gaze slowly trailed to my little daisy and back to Alpha Linux.

The thought has the corner of my mouth curving up in a daring smirk, and I pray to the almighty he sees my father’s blood pulsing beneath my shirt, ignoring me and acting indifferent when I needed him most was the worst of betrayal.

"Who told you that? Father? You've gone all in with him." I clench my jaw.

"You're not welcomed here," he growls

Now it’s kill or be killed. Rule or be ruled. Fear or be feared, I hold up my hand at him.
