Chapter 3

"You're beautiful," mom said and I just smiled. Today will be our wedding and the makeup artist is fixing my makeup. She used shades of brown for my makeup. Ramdam na ramdam ko ang panlalamig ng mga palad ko habang inaayusan ako ng m

"What's next?" Mom asked.

"I'll fix her hair," the makeup artist answered. I was just sitting in front of her. She decided to do a messy bun for my hair. She also added a few accessories on the bun.

"You can wear your gown now," she said after she finished fixing my hair. I smiled at her before standing up to wear my gown. I didn't invite any of my friends. This isn't just the kind of wedding they'll be glad to attend to. I'll invite them once I'll marry a man who'll love me until his last breath. I can see it. In the near future, Brooke will get a divorce.

I wore my gown. It was beautiful but I just couldn't feel it. Maybe this is how it feels to marry someone you don't love. Nothing seems to feel right. Nothing seems... magical.

When I was on the way to the venue, I kept playing with my fingers. I was nervous about something.

"We're here," napaigtad ako nang marinig ko ang boses ng driver.

Oh my god, this is it!

I was subtly trembling in nervousness. Oh my god. Oh my god.

I was starting to freak out but I managed it.

The organizer smiled at me, "What a beautiful bride! Come on now, be in your position," she guided me.

It was a garden wedding. My heart was pounding loudly. I never knew that this is how it feels when you're on your wedding.

I held my bouquet tightly when it was about time for me to walk down the aisle.

"You're beautiful," Dad whispered while they walked me down the aisle.

"Thank you, dad," I smiled.

"Take care of my daughter," my dad said as he gave my hand to Brooke who was staring at me. I met his gaze and I saw how he swallowed. He looked so dashing with his suit. He was wearing a black suit that complimented his dark, charcoal eyes.

He took my hand, "Not bad," he said.

"Uh, thanks?" I said. He shook his head, stifling a smile.

The priest started the ceremony.

He was talking about things. I didn't really pay attention because I was too nervous to even listen to him.

"Brooke Levine, do you take Renesmee Hades as your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?" The priest asked.

I saw his jaw tightened before answering, "I do."

The priest turned to me, "Renesmee Hades, do you take Brooke Levine as your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?"

I swallowed hard before answering, "I... do."

The priest made us exchange our vows. I actually did my vows and memorized it beforehand. I don't even know what I wrote in there. I just made it sound like how a wedding vow should. I just didn't specify things about affection and love. It was clear that he did the same too.

"You may now kiss the bride," my breathing hitched and I could feel my heart beating erratically. He lifted my veil before he started at me.

Suddenly, my world stopped spinning when his lips pressed against mine. He kissed me and I could feel waves of electricity flowing through every nerve of my being. He pulled away, avoiding my gaze. I did the same. It was too awkward.

I was stiffly sitting beside Brooke. Our wedding just finished and we're already in the reception. As expected, there was nothing special about our wedding. He made me feel that. Hindi kami nagkikibuan. It was very awkward when we were in the 'kiss the bride' scene. Like what the hell, I'm marrying a stranger! This is one of the cons of not going out with guys when you have the time. You'll lose your first kiss to a stranger. Well, I had a suitor, but... Nevermind.

"What's with the face?" I flinched when he whispered to me, his breath fanning the hallow of my neck. "You look like you've seen a ghost or something. Is it that bad to get married to me?"

I faced him and my lips parted when I realized that we were too close. Napalunok ako bago nag-iwas ng tingin.

"Answer me, woman. Is it that bad?" He repeated.

"Let me ask you something," I faced him, not minding that our faces were just inches away from each other, "What do you feel about marrying me?"

He stared at me before sighing, "It feels horrible," he answered.

I knew it.

"I feel exactly the same way," I just answered. He stared at me before he shrugged.

The emcee was talking about stuff when suddenly, the guests started to hit their wine glasses with their spoons. I don't even know who they were. I recognized some of them, but most of them were unfamiliar.

"Kiss!" The guests shouted.

My eyes subtly widened. What the hell, why would they want us to kiss anyway? Didn't they had enough with the 'kiss the bride' scene earlier? Geez.

I heard Brooke letting out a loud breath before cursing under his breath. We were both frustrated.

"Guess we don't have a choice," he said.

"Huh?" Before I could even react, his lips was already against mine. It was just a press of the lips for a few seconds. He pulled away eventually.

After for almost eternity, pinatayo kami ng emcee para hiwain ang cake. She even came up with a kind of saying that your love to your partner is equal to the size of the cake that you'll slice for your partner. Like, the heck?! Really?!

Brooke sliced a very small size of cake.

"That little?" The emcee asked.

Brooke smirked, "It would be a shame to lose my beloved wife in our wedding night, yeah? And I don't want her to struggle to eat a big slice of cake, I love her, that's why," he said that with utmost sarcasm. I knew that.

I was so close to hitting him but I stopped myself. Instead, I took a big slice of cake.

"Damn, woman, are you going to kill me?" He hissed.

"That's the plan, asshole," I whispered before I shove it in his mouth.

Nagpalakpakan naman ang mga tao.

I saw Brooke drinking water from my peripheral vision. He took a tissue before wiping the side of his mouth. I saw how he glared at me so I stopped myself from chuckling. Take that, jerk.
