Chapter 5

Author: Forest Fire
Adrian was about to kiss Sienna on her lips, but she turned to avoid it.

Somehow, she just felt disgusted with Adrian's intimacy now, but she still had to lie to him and say, "I'm on my period these few days."

Adrian's eyes darkened. "What nonsense are you thinking? Must that be the only reason why I'm missing you?"

Sienna scoffed internally. What else, if not that? It wasn't like he really loved her or anything.

She looked at Adrian's dark eyes and prominent features with a lost expression on her face. She then gripped the hem of her shirt tightly as she gave him a wide-eyed, lustful glance. "Isn't that what we always do the most whenever we're together?"

Adrian was stunned for a bit. A hint of a smile appeared on his lips as he replied, "Sorry, I haven't been accompanying you much. How about this—I'll take a few days off and take you travelling abroad once your sister is out of the way. You can choose the destination. What do you think?"

He was really good at coaxing her back to him.

If this had happened in the past, Sienna would have been over the moon hearing that he would purposely make time to take her overseas. But now, as Sienna thought more of the past, a lot of things simply didn't make much sense to her.

Other than showering her with expensive, lavish gifts and sleeping with her in the same bed, he basically never spent any more time with her. And of course, the value of the gifts Adrian gave her was the cheapest and meant the least to him anyway because he was filthy rich.

Adrian's phone rang again. He released Sienna and fished his phone from his pocket. Sienna could see the name "Fiona" displayed on the screen.

He hung up without answering the call. However, Fiona called again, and he finally accepted it.

A short while later, he frowned and said, "I get it. I'll come over at once."

After putting his phone away, Adrian kissed Sienna on the cheek and said, "You said you were on your period, and I was worried that you'd be in pain or feel uncomfortable, so I purposely came over early to bring you some beef stew.

"Don't forget to eat it. I have to go now for a meeting at the company. Take care of yourself, alright?"

Sienna nodded slightly.

Adrian then walked out of the walk-in wardrobe.

Sienna had always trusted him. He also used to rush off after getting a call on his phone like this. She had never once glanced at his phone screen before.

Now, she realized just how foolish she had been.

How could she ever believe that a playboy like him would be willing to settle down with just a single girlfriend? If only she'd paid more attention to him, she would have realized that he had been seeing Fiona while seeing her at the same time.

Also, there was no ruling out that maybe he was seeing even more women out there.

She'd been such an idiot!

Sienna walked into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. She grabbed a face towel and began scrubbing at the spots where Adrian had kissed her.

When she walked out of the bathroom, she saw a ceramic pot sitting on the dining table, and it was still warm to the touch.

It was at least a half-hour journey from Humphrey Manor to her apartment. And this ceramic pot didn't have any thermal properties, yet it was still warm to the touch.

Adrian had always paid much attention to minute details. And that was how he always managed to charm his women.

Now, Sienna didn't want to care about all these little details anymore. She threw everything, including the ceramic pot, into the trash.

She then set an alarm before taking a nap.

The alarm rang sometime after 3:00 pm. Sienna finally got up to wash up and noticed a text message on her phone.

It was from Adrian.

"I bought you a brand-new Bugatti. The licence plate number is your birthday. The car keys have been slipped under your door mat. Remember to go and retrieve them."

Adrian was just as generous as ever.

No wonder all of the other women with whom he'd had scandals or rumors still gave him glowing reviews after breaking up.

However, with Sienna, it was just negative reviews all the way.

By the time Sienna got ready, it was almost 4:00 pm.

Since Adrian insisted on gifting the car to her, she would take it. It would be stupid of her not to accept it anyway.

She retrieved the keys and went down to the parking lot. The first car that caught her attention was a baby pink Bugatti that looked like it had just gotten a fresh paint job, glittering magnificently under the sun.

Sienna drove the car to the airport and stood at the exit, waiting.

About ten minutes later, she quickly located Winona's tall figure from among the crowd of passengers.

Her hair had been neatly tied back into a low ponytail, revealing her forehead. She also had on some light makeup and a bold red lip, making her look very aloof, classy, and elegant.

She was also wearing a fitted khaki-colored suit that made her look even more like a smart and capable businesswoman.

Her stilettos clicked against the floor as she weaved through the passengers with sure, precise steps toward Sienna, her presence tall and somewhat intimidating.

Winona walked up to Sienna and finally stopped. Then, she let go of her suitcase handle, grinned, and spread her arms wide at Sienna.

Sienna immediately felt a tingle in her nose. She fell into Winona's embrace at once.

Suddenly, all the grievances she'd been suppressing just gushed out in tears.

Winona and Sienna hugged for a very long time. Eventually, Winona realized that Sienna was shaking in her embrace.

Her face darkened at once. She grabbed Sienna by her shoulders and pulled away from the hug, immediately noticing her tear-streaked face.

"What's the matter, Anna? Did your boyfriend treat you terribly?"

Sienna shook her head and hiccuped as she said, "I just missed you too much."

"Didn't we just see each other last Christmas? It's only been a month or two since then. You could always come home to see me whenever you want if you really miss me that much."

Winona then slung an arm across Sienna's shoulders and continued pulling her suitcase behind her by the handle with her other hand, heading out of the airport.

They chatted with each other during the walk.

When they reached Sienna's car, Winona immediately noticed that it was a new one. Yet, she didn't say a thing.

After all, even though Sienna looked very innocent and docile, she was rolling in a sizable amount of dough every month, and it didn't surprise Winona even if Sienna were to swap out her old cars for multi-million dollar race cars every once in a while.

Even if Sienna couldn't make her own money, the Coltons would still be able to afford this car for her anyway.

They were both just about to get into the car when they suddenly caught sight of Adrian.

There was another woman walking beside him. Sienna had never seen her before, but judging from her appearance, this had to be Fiona, the person who messaged her on Instagram.

Winona scoffed. "What a bastard!"

When Adrian looked up, he caught Sienna looking at him. Winona then turned to Sienna and said, "See that guy? Don't you ever poke your nose into any of his business."

Sienna quickly averted her gaze and pretended not to have seen Adrian.

Adrian frowned.

Fiona Bolton wrapped her hands around Adrian's arm. "Rian? Did you recognize them?"

Sienna had already started up her car by then. She glanced in the rearview mirror and saw that Adrian was still looking in their direction, and he was standing so stiffly he looked like a pole.

She naturally assumed that he must have been staring at Winona the whole time.

Soon, she pulled out of the parking spot and left. She could no longer see Adrian in her rearview mirror.

"That woman next to him looks a lot like you, Winnie."

Winona froze. Then, she continued smiling and said, "You do know that your sister here has always been the prettiest woman you'll ever see wherever I go, right?

"You say that the woman looks like me, which means you're calling her pretty. What kind of fuckboy wouldn't go for pretty women and go for ugly ones instead?"

She never revealed to Sienna that Adrian had once tried pursuing her before. Sienna also didn't know why.

It was quite obvious that Fiona was very highly likely to be Winona's replacement after all. Meanwhile, Sienna was simply used as a tool for Adrian to get revenge on Winona.

It didn't take much to realize that Adrian was deeply in love with Winona.

Sienna felt her heart bleeding again. She hated just how useless and helpless she ended up being while still madly in love with Adrian.

After going back to the apartment, Winona said that she wanted to have a quick nap before going out for dinner later. She then tasked Sienna with the job of waking her up at 7:00 pm before going into the second bedroom to nap.

Sienna had just sat down when her phone buzzed twice with a notification.

The screen preview showed that she had received two text messages, one after another. One was from Adrian, and the other was from Fiona. Sienna tapped on Fiona's message first.

"Who was that woman next to you just now?"

Even Fiona was feeling threatened after catching sight of Winona earlier.

Sienna didn't respond to her. The only reason she hadn't unfollowed or blocked Fiona was that she thought that Fiona would be able to give her more information and insights later on.

Then, Sienna tapped on Adrian's text message notification.

"Don't forget our promise tonight, Anna."
