Chapter 21: Rejected

The three seconds silence that came after Lucille's announcement was deafening. All that could be heard was the low whispering of the wind. Then came the murmurs, arguments and soon there was an uproar.

Some of the werewolves had guessed that something had happened to Roman as he hadn't made an appearance in a whole month, but never would they have guessed that their grand alpha was dead.

How? When? And so many questions were flying around. The Pentagon tried to calm the people but the crowd was out of control.

Considering how much noise was coming from the premises, some humans had gathered outside the gates. It was just impossible to get in as the the gate was heavily guarded by huge men who the humans couldn't have guessed were werewolves.

From the gates, no one could have a clear view of what was going on in the parking lot. Inquisitive reporters had already been called but no human could pass through the barricade that the werewolves had put in place.
