Chapter 2 - Separate

A young man with a formal appearance approached the prince who was making out with his lover suddenly, spontaneously a rough breath was released from the prince’s mouth full of anger.

"Why do you even approach me when I'm making out with my fiancé!" Gabriel grumbled crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"You have important business to attend to now."

“Ouch, why do you always speak formally in front of me! You better talk casually so I feel comfortable every time I talk to you."

“But Your Majesty—”

“There is no 'but'! You are forbidden to go against the orders of a prince!” Gabriel snapped, his lips pursed.

"Okay I understand!" obediently the young man bowed his head respectfully.

Charlotte could only laugh awkwardly while covering her mouth gracefully.

“Why are you laughing, Charlotte? Is there something funny?" Gabriel asked, confused.

"It does not matter. You just look funny to me," said Charlotte casually.

"It's better for you to laugh like this in front of me than be stiff." Gabriel laughed happily while stroking his lover's head.

Meanwhile, the young man known as Prince Gabriel's private secretary was silent like a mosquito flying between lovers making out. He refrained from clearing his throat in front of them because such treatment was not appropriate in front of the royal family and nobles.

Gabriel noticed his secretary standing still, made him shake his head while patting his shoulder lightly.

"Why are you keeping quiet, Lucas?" Gabriel asked.

"Sorry, I didn't want to disturb your intimacy," Lucas replied shyly.

"Oh yeah, you said you had some important business? Looks like something serious was discussed.”

"I have information that you must visit Mr. Alexander's residence tomorrow afternoon."

"What?"

Gabriel's eyes widened at the information from Lucas, causing a shaky breath to escape his mouth. His strong arms spontaneously embraced his fiancée tightly like glue.

“Gabriel, why are you suddenly like this?” whispered Charlotte quietly.

"I don't want to visit him," Gabriel refused without thinking.

"But Prince Gabriel, there's something he wants to talk to you about on an emergency basis," Lucas evaded trying to persuade him.

"I just made up with my fiancé, I won't leave her alone here."

Gabriel's gaze shifted to his lover, tightening his grip on her.

“Charlotte, I still want to spend time with you before our wedding day. I don't want to part with you, for what I did to you that time."

Charlotte shook her head slowly while touching Gabriel's hand gently, sucking in her relaxed smile.

“Work is more important than me. You must be able to distinguish your personal feelings from other important matters.”

"But Charlotte—"

"Never mind, instead of wasting our time talking about it, how about we make the most of this opportunity before you leave tomorrow?" offered Charlotte smiling intelligently.

“Alright, then let's continue our leisurely walk. You can leave us, Lucas," Gabriel said, looking at Lucas.

"I'll leave you guys. I'll excuse myself, Prince Gabriel and Lady Charlotte."

Quickly, Lucas left the lovers in the palace garden. Now they are back again to continue their moment of intimacy that had been cut off earlier.

While walking leisurely together, Charlotte's face looked a little sluggish as if she could sense something bad was going to happen in the near future, which affected a lot of people. Actually, Charlotte had to agree about the meeting tomorrow, but in her heart she was scared.

Especially the nightmare she had, watching his lover killed right in front of her, scared her a little now. Fear of nightmares coming true, especially before the wedding day.

Her heart felt more and more uneasy, making Gabriel worry about her.

"Charlotte, what's wrong with you again?" Gabriel asked.

"It does not matter."

"Is something bothering you?"

"No."

"Could it be because tomorrow I have to leave you here alone?"

"Not for that either."

"You better not have to lie to me. Your face looks very sad because you don't want to part with me. Moreover, tomorrow we should be preparing for our wedding, instead I have to visit someone else's residence.”

Wondering what to say to him. It's also hard for Charlotte to keep her secret in her heart, it's also not something that is light about life.

Charlotte had to open her mouth to sigh wearily, telling Gabriel about her nightmare.

“Even if you only visit him tomorrow for a while, somehow I don't feel like letting you go that easily, Gabriel.”

Spontaneously, Gabriel hugged her tightly until it was hard to breathe.

“Gabriel, this is too strong,” Charlotte said breathlessly.

"I also will not let you go like what I have done to you now."

“But…”

“But why?”

Charlotte opened her mouth, recounting her nightmare at length until he was killed in her eyes. With a tone of fear shaking until it felt like crying again.

Gabriel's hand stroked Charlotte's head gently trying to calm her down. Moreover, he was very worried and was not used to looking at him this pale.

"Nothing bad will happen to us. Did you forget? I am a prince of this kingdom, no one will be able to destroy our life. After all, even if there are strong winds that hit our relationship, our relationship will still look intact forever. You should forget about that nightmare." Gabriel tossed it casually while tucking a strand of Charlotte's hair behind her ear.

"It's true what you just said. Maybe I had too many hallucinations to think of strange things.”

“How about we just go inside the palace? It's getting colder, you could catch a cold."

"Okay, let's go inside."

When the two of them were walking into the palace, the mysterious person apparently overheard their conversation from the beginning while carving a sly smile. Leaving the palace gardens without the sound of footsteps.

Meanwhile, on the other side, the Prime Minister, who is known to be stubborn and firm, is in her office looking at her phone which contains photos of her times with Prince Gabriel. Then, suddenly her personal assistant entered the room while brewing a cup of warm tea.

“Prime Minister Agnes, are you alright?” asked the assistant very anxiously.

"You can see what my face looks like now," Agnes answered flatly.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. But since I've brought you some hot tea, why don't you drink some tea first to calm your mind." Agnes' assistant gave her a cup of tea.

Agnes swiftly took a sip of her tea, enjoying it slowly while exhaling languidly.

"I didn't think the wedding would come soon."

“Do you want to just give up? Wasn't Prince Gabriel your first love?"

Hearing her assistant's words just now, Agnes narrowed her eyes while gripping her cup tightly.

“Watch your words just now! I can't just snatch Prince Gabriel away!”

“Sorry, Prime Minister Agnes, for my impudence just now,” the assistant regretted and knelt before her.

"Although I'm known as a woman who is arrogant and always approaches the prince, I'm not the type of woman who dares to take someone else's property!"

That night, when Charlotte stepped gracefully towards the palace gates, suddenly Prince Gabriel ran up to her, wrapping his arms around his fiancé's slender stomach from behind.

"Charlotte, tomorrow morning can you really see me before I leave?"

"Of course, I can. Tomorrow I have a lot of free time, after all I did want to take you."

"Thank God, then tomorrow I will look handsome so that you love me even more," Gabriel released his embrace and took out his flagship rag stance while blinking his right eye coquettishly.

"Ah, you could say something like that." Charlotte was blushing.

"I want to take you home actually."

“But my personal driver has been waiting for me for a long time. It's okay, I can go home alone."

“You always have to be careful. Call me if you have already arrived at your home.” Gabriel ordered gently.

"Yeah, take it easy, my driver is good at defending himself, he's been reliable from the start."

Waving to each other, throwing their most beautiful smiles before going their separate ways even though tomorrow there is still time to meet.

The next day, Gabriel and Lucas boarded a royal private jet to visit Mr. Alexander's residence. Usually when Gabriel and Lucas traveled to faraway places, they always boarded a jet. Before the plane took off, Gabriel said goodbye to his fiancé before parting ways.

"I'll be home soon, wait for me."

"Don't be away for too long, I could miss you."

"I don't know why I want to play the piano for you later."

"That is true! We haven't played the piano together in a long time," Charlotte exclaimed, widening her eyes perfectly.

"Then we'll play it together to celebrate our wedding tomorrow."

Suddenly at the same time, Lucas approached the two of them, bowing his head respectfully.

“Sorry, Prince Gabriel, it is time for us to go now.”

"Before that I have to do something for her first."

Gabriel touched his fiancé's temples with both hands, landed his lips on Charlotte's lips in a passionate kiss while slowly touching her back, ignoring the people around them watching. There was no pause for a second, Charlotte replied by playing with her lips tightening her hug enjoying the kissing action they did for a long time. Satisfied with what they were doing, Gabriel broke the kiss ending it by kissing Charlotte's forehead lovingly.

"I'll be going now, see you later, Charlotte," said Gabriel waving his hand.

"See you later, Gabriel. You always have to be careful there.”

Gabriel stepped slowly, accompanied by Lucas to enter the jetliner while looking at his lover from a distance, as if not willing to part with him.

Moments later, after the prince’s departure, Charlotte waited for his return to her own residence while relaxing in the living room. When she wanted to sip a cup of hot tea, she accidentally dropped the cup until the glass shards scattered on the floor. Like feeling something bad happened to him indirectly.
