LOGINChapter 31
Jasmine's POV I knew I was being watched. I didn't know where they were, but I could smell them. I read Barry's mind; he really thought I was stupid and weak. I've been around longer than the young king has. I have seen his father, his father's father, and his father's father. Can you guess how old I am? Probably not. I've already made up my mind, and my answer is no. Now, I have to figure out how to let Lucas know what's going on since I'm being watched. I made it home, opened my door, then locked it. I made a booby trap on my door—I put a wire around the doorknob, then placed my shotgun right in the middle of the door. If anyone tries to even open my door, they will be shot. Yeah, I know how to set things up. Like I said, I've been around for a while. I placed the paperwork in a large envelope, then I put it in my floor safe. I covered it up with my carpet and placed my nightstand back over it. These will be safe no matter what happens, but I also have the copies. I'm going to need my small duffle bag. I got that out of my closet, placed the copies in the bag, then put it beside my bed after I filled it with clothes—just a few pairs of jeans and shirts. I can buy what I need when I go on the run. I have a feeling that I'm going to be blamed for this, so I need to be ready for anything. The two days can go by fast, so I called to make a trip by train and by plane, so they have no clue which one I will take. I called around town, making sure I had a bus ticket as well. I told them I would pay as soon as I get there, just have the ticket ready. Even though I won't be going there because they will make sure the bus station is surrounded. I had everything covered. What they didn't know is that I had a getaway. Trust me, I had everything covered—I always do. I took my shower and then laid down for a bit. I wasn't tired; I needed to relax before I went to sleep. Luna's POV Two days went by, and Renee and I are still on the road. The only time we stopped was for gas and the bathroom. We ate when we were hungry and got something to drink when we were thirsty. After being on the road for a few days, I was finally getting tired. Renee and I took turns driving. If I got tired, she would drive while I slept, and vice versa. But both of us were tired as hell. So we decided to stop at a hotel. We rented just one room with double beds. The girl looked at us, then sniffed the air. She growled at me, thinking I was a rogue. I knew I smelled since I hadn't taken a shower in a few days. I was going to shower once we got into the room. But when she growled at me, I pulled her by her shirt close to me, growling right back at her. “Listen, bitch, I'm not a rogue. I've just been driving for a few days to go see family. If you kindly just give me my hotel room key, I will take a shower and then rest. If you trust to mess with us, I will rip your head right off your shoulders. I'm not in the mood for BS right now,” she whimpered and told me how sorry she was. “I'm sorry. There are rogues that come here all the time. We don't like them here. They try and tear everything apart, and they don't care who they hurt.” “Yeah, well, we're not rogues. We just smell because we've been on the road for a few days, that's all,” she handed me the key to the room. We went inside. I took a shower, feeling much better cleaned up, and then she did the same. I knew the desk girl was going to call for help, so I needed to be prepared. We were only going to sleep for a few hours and then leave. So that's what we did. We slept. When we woke up, it was three in the morning. We packed our bags, left the door key in the room, and then left. When we got into the car, I could smell the scent of wolves. They looked through my car, thinking they would find something, and my guess is they didn't find anything. I did find a note with only one word in it, it said "Leave." I chuckled before I crumbled the note up. I wrote on it, knowing they will look at it. I wrote, "F**K YOU!" and crumbled the note up, tossing it out of my window, then sped off. Renee laughed, knowing that what I did would piss them off because I let my tires spin for a second, then hit the gas. I knew I left tire marks in their driveway. She screamed, "YOU'RE CRAZYYY!!" I started laughing as I sped on, knowing full well they would be after us in a few minutes. It took about five minutes for us to be as far away from that hotel as possible. But it didn't take long when we heard the howling of wolves. They were pissed off. They were the ones that started it. They were shifted and running toward the car. So I pressed the gas pedal all the way down, and the car was way ahead of the wolves. I gave Renee the pistol and told her to shoot. “What the hell do you want me to do with this?” “Shoot, and when you're out of bullets, get the other one from the backseat,” she nodded. I don't think she knew what she was doing, so I said, "Forget it.” "Grab the wheel, don't let go. When I get over, you get over at the same time, but don't stop the car. You got it,” she nodded, ready to get over when I did. So, we counted to three. She put her foot on the gas so the car wouldn't slow down. Then she scooted under me when I went over her. She was in the driver's seat while I sat on the passenger side door. I waited until I saw the first one, aimed the best I could, and then pulled the trigger. The wolf went down. Alright, where are the rest of them? And then I saw them; they were coming up fast. I started shooting one by one. Then I grabbed the other gun. I started shooting as many as I could. One jumped forward; I shot it in mid-air. That was the last one. I got back into the car, sitting back and laughing. “Girl, step on it. I know this car can go faster.” Shit, what a morning. This is just too screwed up. All because we smelled a little. Well, they should have never left the letter or even looked through my car. They're the dumbasses. We needed to get to the next town so they wouldn't be looking for us. If I missed any, they would go back and let them know what had happened. They will do anything possible to get to us, so we need to get as far away as possible. We headed toward the next town. Maybe that's a bad idea. How about three towns over, and then we will get some rest. They don't think we would do that; they will probably think we will stop at the next town. I'm not stupid. My father taught me very well not to do dumbass things, and stopping in the next town over is a dumbass mistake. They could grab us right there and kill us, and that's not happening today. Let's see how long we can last until we get to the other towns. Maybe then we will stop and sleep through the night.” Jasmine's POV: It's been a few days, and I have noticed that more people have been around than usual. I have to lock myself in my office so no one would just walk right in. I had my duffel bag kept in the trunk of my car because today is the day that I get out of here. I had enough money to get me to London, and then it would keep me well off for about twenty years. I couldn't take the money out of my account like I usually do, so I had prepaid cards to ensure they won't be able to be tracked. I thought about everything; I'm sick of being followed. They suck at hiding. I'm not sure if they followed someone before, but they do suck at it. I put the files that I was looking at away. It seems more money has been transferred to this company called R.S. Company. I've never heard of this. Why are they actually taking money away from the king? Do you think he is that stupid? The king has money everywhere, and they've only been taking it out of the only account they know of. I was done for today. I got my briefcase, ensuring I took everything out of it and burned it in my fireplace the other night. This way, there are no deep dark secrets they could find nor any copies of things they could read. Those are in my floor safe. The only one who knew about it was the king. He knew that if I went missing, he should go look. I even gave him the code to the safe, and he knew not to leave it lying around for the wrong person to get a hold of it. I was ready to head out, putting everything away, walking toward the door. I turned off the machines and the lights, then took one last look around. I left one folder out; I had a purpose for that. Then I opened the door. I could smell them; they were hiding. So, I took a deep breath, shut the door, and left the building. I got into my car and took off. They were following me in a wolf form. Shaking my head, I laughed at them. I began to speed away. I knew they could easily catch up with me, but not so fast. I put my foot on the pedal and sped away. They had to run faster, and I didn't even get a chance to hit the next town when they jumped on the car, clawing at the roof. The others busted out the passenger window to try and get a hold of me. I think they thought I would be screaming for dear life. But no, this was fun. I was driving so fast that when I stepped on the brakes, they went flying off the car, hitting the road hard. Once they were off the car, I sped away. After they shook off what I did to them, they came after me again. But this time, three of them. What the hell? They were just waiting for the other two to finish, and now three were after me. I'm not sure how I'm going to do this, but I need to get rid of them, too. Goddess knows if I don't get out of this, I’m as good as dead.Chapter 48William's POVWe woke up a little later than we should have. I was exhausted from the all-night driving to catch up with Luna and the others, so I slept in when I knew I shouldn't. I knew it was a bad idea, but I couldn't help it. Me being a leader to these guys was a bad idea on the Moon Goddess's part, but she insisted on this. I felt like I was letting her down. When we left the hotel room, I didn't know how long Luna was ahead of us, but I knew her car was not there. "Shit, I knew I shouldn't have slept in." But I also remembered we shouldn't be so close while she is driving. She would spot us and wonder why we are following them. We hurried to the car, then sped away from the hotel. I had to get the GPS out so I could see how far the castle was that Anna was talking about, her brother being there. It made me wonder if this guy is the real Lycan King. I remembered an old tale of a Lycan King. He only wanted the Lycans around; he wanted everything else dead. He wanted to
Chapter 47Dark Witch Tree (Sorry, I couldn't think of a better name to give her, lol)I was sitting on my porch enjoying the night. The owls were feasting, and I heard the snakes crawling around. When that girl came to me wanting some off-the-wall potion to make the king think that his mate was her, I thought she was insane. I've made this before long ago that the woman died because she didn't put enough in his drink. He was an alpha that everyone wanted, and she did, too. She decided to come to me and ask for it. I made it strong for her, warned her of the karma that it might cause, but she didn't care; she wanted it. I told her I wanted her first child, and she agreed. But things happened; she didn't put enough. They were in bed together when the potion wore off; the alpha killed her right there. Now, this girl comes to me asking for the same thing. I told her that I wanted to live in the castle, and she agreed. However, I had a feeling she wasn't going to live either. That girl is
Chapter 46Barry's POVIt had been a few days since I saw my daughter Angie. She told me she had plans for this little bitch, but what plans were they? I needed to let her know what my plans were before she did something stupid. I mind-linked her, telling her to get to my house now; she would be living with me so I could keep an eye on her. She didn't need to be living in the castle right now. I knew she didn't like the idea. I was waiting on the porch for her when she arrived, and she didn't have anything with her."Where the hell is all your stuff, Angie? I told you to bring it with you.""Dad, if they saw me take my things from my room and move in with you, they would think something is going on, and I don't need that right now. You said you had a better plan than I had. So before I tell you mine, you need to tell me yours. Besides, mine is already in progress." I couldn't believe my ears. What the hell was she doing that was already in progress?"Girl, I hope it's nothing stupid t
Chapter 45This is how William became part of the assassins.William's POVAs I slept beside my mate Anna, I came to realize something profound: I was part of a very strong family. It took me a while to understand this, but I am an integral part of this family. I often wondered how I could help them. While I slept, the moon goddess came to me. I knew she never appeared unless there was something important to convey. I found myself standing in the woods, arms crossed over my chest, simply observing. I was pondering why I was there until I heard her voice. I turned to see her: she had white hair cascading down her back, white eyes, and a white dress with a tribal mark on her forehead."I know you're wondering why I summoned you here, William, but I am forming an assassin group to aid Mercury's family. I know you well, William. It will be tough, but Anna's sisters, Luna and Kayla, are in dire need of help. A significant war is imminent as they seek to dethrone the king, who refuses to st
Chapter 44 Kayla's POVI knew I shouldn't have smacked him, but I was pissed off right now. How dare she kiss what is mine? I stormed outside; I wanted to go for a run. I decided to use my wolf form. This time it really didn't hurt that much. Once I was done shifting, I ran into the woods. It was amazing how it felt looking through my wolf eyes. Everything seemed different. I could see so many colors and smell the animals before I ran up to them. I jumped over a few logs, marked some of the trees. I was having so much fun. I even let Aurora hunt down a rabbit or two; she enjoyed the run as well. I found a small lake right in the middle of the land. I looked down into the water and noticed how silver my wolf was. I think I needed to shift into my lycan. If anyone saw me like this, they would probably try to kill me. So I shifted right into my Lycan. She roared and then sat down on a log. Her fingers went into the water, scooping up some water to drink. I looked down into the water and
Chapter 43Angie's POVThroughout the night, I kept hearing howling, screaming, and even some growling. What the heck was going on? I got up and looked out the window; oh, it was a full moon, a night when first shifters did their first shift. Smirking, I hope the one that shifts gets tortured from the pain like I did. Trust me, I felt like I was dying when I did my first shift. I don't like to shift that much, but when I do, I let my lycan run as long as she wants; it makes her strong. I looked further and saw Lucas picking someone up off the ground. Motherfucker, it's that girl's first shift, and he's carrying her. I bet they're going to mate and mark each other. Walking out of my room, I watched as he carried her to her room. He went in and out of there several times, bringing up a cupcake, then food to her. The last time, it took a while for him to come out. I thought that's when they were going to do it, but I didn't hear anything; these walls were soundproof, but every now and t
