He messed it up

Jackson was racked with sobriety; he couldn’t imagine his life without Kate. His whole world is collapsing right now from the loss of her. The ache of her loss wouldn’t fade away; it was like a million piercings of emotional agony that pounded his mind in merciless bombardment.

He went to his bar showcase. He got whiskey to brighten his mood the night she came as a ghost and flooded back into his memory. He couldn’t believe that he had made love to a ghost. His jaw dropped as he opened his whiskey and sipped it. He swallowed all the liquid at once.

Helen knocked on his door, but there was no response. She was so excited to find the door open that she beams with joy seeing Jackson after a long time; he was already drunk. She excitedly hugged him.

"I miss you so much," she said to him. He was unable to grasp a breath.

He recoiled from her embrace; he stared at her deeply in her eyes; he could see Kate's face brimming with beauty.
