My Pain, My Inspiration

Flame heart

As far as I remember, I have always been alone. Although I grew up in an orphanage on the outskirts of Sunshine City, I never felt like I belonged. Let's just say I was always the black sheep of the lot.

For some reason, even the patrons and matrons of the orphanage detested me. It was hard to live like that but somehow, I managed. At the age of seventeen, I had to start working odd jobs. I had to do this to save up for the following year. The orphanage would have no place for me once I turned eighteen.

Everywhere I went, because of how tattered I was, everyone would hurl expletives at me. Ha! Mine was indeed a sad life. There seemed to be no way out for me. I also had lost hope. Little did I know that fate would present a way out for me in the cruelest way ever. I had to lose so much to obtain freedom.

In losing, I still gained much more. That was the birth of the Flameheart Consortium, a globally recognized company. It had branches in almost every part of the world. In Azania, Flameheart had its hands on both Platinum and Diamond.

It goes without dispute that Flameheart is the biggest Diamond company in the world. One can only imagine how wealthy the highest shareholder is. In any other business, I do not mean to brag but I am the sole shareholder.

It is only on the diamond business that I hold most of the shares. About sixty percent of the shares. This was only due to the fact that I am a foreign investor in Azania. Otherwise, I could have monopolized it as well. The Azanians did not have much knowledge of how worthy platinum is, thus, they allowed me to do as I pleased.

Nonetheless, my company has developed in most of the countries that we invested in. We built schools and hospitals. As well as develop their infrastructure. That is who I am, I make sure to give back to society as much as I can.

I have also recruited different talents from all over the world. Mainly those who are considered to be at the bottom of the lot. Knowing where I was coming from, I made it my sole purpose to uplift those whom society looked down upon. They all reminded me of my former life.

They say that ultimate power corrupts, but that is not the case with me at all. Having so much power has allowed me to reach out to those in need without any inhibitions. No one dares stop me from lending a helping hand. Not one soul, human or werewolf can force me to adopt their detestable habits.

These are silent rules that society unanimously adheres to. If one of them says something, they automatically go with the flow. Not me. I dictate the pace and when others falter, I use brute force. As long as it is for a good cause, I ascertain that they follow through.

Had it not been that way, I would have never lived such a miserable life. I recall instances when some old fisherman took pity on me and offered me a job on his boat. However, the moment another fisherman who had more status than him said I was a stain in their community, the old man had no choice but to sack me.

The same with the night that my life was almost taken from me. Those guys were doing what they deemed mob justice. However, I know that they were only following those above them. This is the cruel reality of how society works.

All because I was a poor orphan, I became a pawn in their sordid plan. They needed a scapegoat and I fit the profile to a, T. Once they succeeded, they discarded me as they would, trash.

Not before they beat me blue-black. Almost every bone in my body was fractured. Then they proceeded to bundle me up in a sack and hurled me into the murky, Savannah River. A river that was infested with predatory reptiles.

They had committed what they deemed a perfect murder. No one would know as no one would care to look for me. I was all alone in this whole wide world. My disappearance or death would affect no one. I neither had family, friends nor a girlfriend.

No one ever gave me a second glance. Even my employer never remembered my name. He was a constructor who took pity on me and offered me a job in exchange of accommodation. I would help with the brick laying and in exchange, I would get a bite of food and a shack behind the building under construction, to sleep in.

I knew it was temporary, but I made good use of the opportunity. I learned all I could where construction was concerned. Although the burly man kept forgetting my name, he took a liking to me. He saw how thirsty I was for knowledge.

I was so spellbound by the magic of building. To me, it was magical because I got to watch myself creating a magnificent building from scratch. I vowed that one day, I would rise from the dust and stand tall and unwavering like a sturdy building, built with concrete, cement, bricks and metal rods.

What I did not know was that the opportunity would present itself in such a cruel manner. I had to be forced to take the chastity of an innocent and pure girl, suffer fatal injuries, and brought back from the dead, in order to achieve my goal.

Sounds far-fetched, doesn't it? Unfortunately, that is the truth. When those rich kids force-fed me the drugs, I lost control and ended up deflowering an innocent girl. After which they then blamed me for rape and thrashed me until they believed I was dead.

However, fate was not done with me yet. Instead of drowning, I was carried away by the current. Unknowingly, I was on top of one of the deadliest reptiles in the water. The three-headed mythical serpentine. A serpent that is only known to live in Azania. The Nyaminyami. To this day, I do not know what connection I have with the serpentine. I believe that it was not just a mere coincidence.

I would not have known this, had my master not told me. The serpentine bit off the ropes that were binding me, and gently carried me on its back. Then my master says he received a message in his dreams. He knew that the time had come.

It took me four years, to fully understand what he meant. He has since begged me to stop calling him master, but it is my wish. Apparently, when it comes to rank, I am his king, this means he bows to me. But for me, he is the reason I am here today.

From the beginning, he saved me. When I was a baby and the raging war between the witches and werewolves commenced, he took me to safety, risking his life. He changed my name and gave me a new identity. He forsook his identity for my sake.

I owe him my life but humble as he is, he keeps brushing me off, saying it was his duty. It took me a while to embrace my true identity. Three years to be precise. However, towards the end of the third year of living with Master Hans, I got my turning point.

I had already built my own training center from scratch. There was no problem with money as master has handed me my trust funds. My parents had made sure to save billions for me. Even with all that money, I still took great pleasure in building my first Flameheart tower. Of course, for a project that big I had to employ others.

Anyway, the day I started embracing my true identity was a day like any other. For some reason, I could not sleep so I decided to read the history books of our world that Arthur had given me. When I came to the part of mates, I was enthralled.

Even without me knowing my true identity the Moon Goddess did not forget me. She bestowed a mate on me and I recall vividly, how I had marked her in my delirious state. Before my wolf even awakened, I recognized my mate. She became the reason for my drive.

I remembered promising to look for her. As soon as I embraced my true identity, my wolf, Emberwing, awakened. We both vowed to comb the whole earth until we found our human mate. She is the reason I have businesses in almost every part of the world. It is a quest to find her.
