As Christopher and Thomas were approaching the rest of their group John and Vanessa saw them first and ran over to them.
"Chris! Braum kept insisting you and Thomas left!"
"Sir, Something has happened. I thin-" Chris held up his hand but did not slow his pace.
"It's ok I got it."
"Chirs!" Sarah called out happily. In front of him the group seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.
Christopher came to a stop with his arms crossed. "Well seems our little party has grown....A lot." Behind Sarah and the rest sat twenty Imperial Knights on horseback with Braum in the lead. Their armor all bearing the same family crest as him. 'Personal troops huh.'
With just a glance anyone could tell these were no common soldiers. They all wore plate armor and carried themselves as abled veterans. One of the men spurred his horse forward and looked down at Christopher with contempt.

The Knight captain turned just in time to see the eyes of the one he thought was nothing but a useless coward and a blade cutting into his neck.
