The sun spilled through the slightly opened windows, casting a soft glow across the room. On the bed lay a petite figure, her skin pale from the fever that had held her captive for a whole day.

At dawn, Emma’s eyes fluttered open. She blinked against the brightness, her lashes trembling as she tried to adjust to the light.

“Miss Emma, you’re finally awake! How are you feeling?” A worried voice asked.

In her daze, Emma saw a young girl approaching—about twenty years old, with a palm-sized face, wide round eyes, and plump cheeks.

Doudou, who had been keeping watch in Emma’s room on Mrs. Norris’s instructions, rushed forward to help her sit up. She carefully raised a cup of water to Emma’s lips. “Here, drink a little to moisten your throat.”

Emma’s lips parted, the water cool against her dryness. She swallowed, then managed to rasp in a hoarse voice, “Who are you?”

“My name is Doudou,” the girl replied gently. “I’m one of the servants here. Mrs. Norris told me to take care of you.”

Emma froze, staring at the door in shock as Grayson walked in unannounced. Her chest tightened—fear and panic surged through her veins. She remembered his threat if she didn’t stay away from Dexter, and now she didn’t know what to do.Grayson stood silently, his cold gaze fixed on her. The intensity in his eyes made her tremble. The air grew heavy until Dexter’s voice finally broke the silence.“Grayson, why are you here?” Dexter asked, his tone steady but edged with tension.Grayson smirked. “This is my house. I can be anywhere I please. Or…” his eyes flicked between them, “did I interrupt you two lovers?”Though his voice sounded teasing, the threat beneath it was unmistakable.Dexter narrowed his eyes. “What do you mean by that?”“Are you not lovers?” Grayson arched a brow. “Why else would a single man and woman be hugging alone in a room?”“No… no, Young Master, we weren’t—” Emma’s voice shook as she shook her head desperately.Grayson’s stare sharpened. “Are you saying I’m blind?

  • For Her Heart Again    Dexter's Visit

He arrived in half that time, his chest tight with worry. The servants didn’t stop him when he rushed inside. As Grayson’s best friend, he had free access to the house.---In Grayson’s RoomGrayson had just ended a call with Dexter. He knew his friend was on the way, and he already understood the reason.A knock came.“Come in,” Grayson said.Butler Harry entered, head slightly bowed. “Young Master, Young Master Dexter is here. He requests to see Miss Emma.”Grayson kept his eyes on the documents in front of him, his expression unreadable. A low grunt slipped from his throat. “Hmm.”Harry hesitated, unsure whether that was permission. “Master, should I allow him to see her?”“Okay.”It wasn’t much of an answer, but Harry took it as consent. He bowed and left quickly.---Emma’s RoomAfter her bath, Doudou had brought b

  • For Her Heart Again    Down With Fever

The night in the Miller mansion was unusually silent, the kind of quiet that pressed down on everything like a heavy blanket.Emma lay quietly on the bed under a thin blanket, her face pale, lips cracked, and weakness etched into every movement. Mrs. Norris and a few servants hovered nearby, their worry evident. She remained unconscious, her fever relentless.“Mrs. Norris, her fever… it’s getting worse again,” a female servant, Doudou said nervously, wringing her hands. “Maybe we should try—”“We’ve tried everything we can,” Mrs. Norris interrupted gently but firmly. She knelt beside Emma, brushing a stray lock of hair from her forehead. “I gave her the medicine the Old Master provided; it worked for a while, but now the fever is back.”“She’s so fragile… what if—” Doudou began, but Mrs. Norris’s sigh stopped her.“We can only wait for the Old Master—or Young Master Grayson—to allow a doctor. Until then, our hands are tied,” Mrs. Norris said softly, her voice carrying the weight of ye

  • For Her Heart Again    Grandpa Miller—A Quiet Visit

---At the Miller's old estate, the afternoon sun filtered through the wide windows of the living room where Old Master Miller sat reading the newspaper. The scent of aged wood and polished leather filled the room. He looked up as a servant entered, bowing respectfully."Old Master, Mrs. Norris is here to see you."He raised a brow, folding his paper slowly. “Mrs. Norris? I thought she wasn’t due until the weekend. Send her in.”Moments later, Mrs. Norris walked in with a heavy heart and tense expression. She bowed slightly.“Old Master.”Old Master Miller gave a half-smile. “Mmm… Why are you here today? I thought you weren’t going to come over till the weekend. Or have you finally gotten tired of playing nanny to your baby Grayson?” he teased gently, trying to lift her mood. But when she didn’t smile as usual, he set the paper aside and leaned forward.“What happened?” he asked, his voice lower. “Is it about Emma?”Mrs. Norris nodded. “Yes. Grayson made her sleep outside the Villa fo

---Gasps erupted from the hallway.Footsteps thundered closer, echoing against the marble as Mrs. Norris rounded the corner and halted, her breath catching at the sight before her. “Dear heavens…” she whispered, rushing to Emma’s side. “Emma!”Her hands gently touched the girl’s clammy forehead, then her wrist. The faint flutter of a pulse brought little comfort.“Someone fetch the doctor—now!” she shouted, not caring who heard.Grayson appeared at the top of the stairs, drawn by the noise. His eyes found Emma instantly, her motionless body curled awkwardly against the steps. His stomach clenched. For a moment, no one moved. The world seemed to still.Mrs. Norris looked up at him, her face taut with fury and disbelief. “Are you proud of this?” she asked, voice low but sharp.Grayson said nothing. He descended one step, then another, each footfall heavier than the last. But Emma didn’t stir. She just lay there—broken, silent, and fadingGrayson’s gaze darkened as he stepped forward,
