Chapter 10

Ellie has been here all week. Avoiding here brothers calls he even tried showing up here. I haven’t heard from Logan either but I know he is busy getting ready for world finals.

Ellie was stretched on my couch when I got home from work. “Honey I’m home” I announce giggling.

“Hey” is all she gives for an answer.

“That’s all I get” pouting as I get up and head upstairs to take a shower.

“Hey question for you who was Logan’s friend with the green eyes” she asks. I have to stop and think.

“O you must mean Evan” I say. “I thought we where both swearing off race car drivers”

“Yeah but Evan is cute and you are totally into Logan. And Logan is twice the man my brother could ever be”

Damn her for being right. I throw the couch pillow at her and finally head to the shower. Logan stays in my thoughts. She is right her brother is too messy for me.

It’s day 1 of the world finals me and Ellie are watching on my computer. Logan has been having a rough go he tagged the wall in warm ups.

Next up is time trials Evan drew to go first which isn’t great.he had an okay time but he won’t know how he really did until the end.

Logan comes out in the 2nd group. His time wasn’t as good as Evan’s but he was in the top 10 in the group. Evan start 3rd in the 2nd heat race and Logan starts 7th in the 4th heat race. I know he is pissed but he can make it up.

I decided to send him a good luck text.

Me: hey I know it isn’t going the way you wanted but good luck.

Logan: not in the mood

Was all I got in response. I get up off the couch and leave Ellie to watch the rest. I was taking a break from studying to watch Logan. But forget it Logan is just like all the other guys including Ricky.

Ellie didn’t say a word about how the heat races went. She knew I wouldn’t care. Around 11pm Logan try’s calling. I silence his call and turn my phone off. I don’t want to hear anything he has to say.

I didn’t bother watching the rest of world finals. Ellie told me Evan won nite 1 and Logan finished 12th. Evan finished 4the on nite 2 and Logan DNFed and then was fined for unsportsmanlike behavior.

Logan didn’t seem like that when I first started to get to know him. He put up a fake front to make him look like a good guy.

Logan returns home today from NC and I do everything in my power to avoid him. But somehow he is sitting crossed from me at the library.

“What could you possibly want Logan I am clearly busy” I snap at him.

“You’re ignoring my calls and text” he answers.

“I have nothing to say to you. Now leave me alone my test is tomorrow” he gets up and looks me in the eyes.

“I’m sorry Shelby that u was such a jerk. Good luck on your test tomorrow” then he was gone.

I sit at the table with my book open. Leaving Logan and Ricky alone was for the best. I will just continue with life single it hasn’t been that bad.
