CH2: Don't come here again

"Stop it Sunna!" The man said to her. " We have to leave first."

So, she decided to be a good girl. She would know all about them once they were at a safer distance.

But still, she had some confusion. Even though she was almost sure that this was her brother, she felt like something about him was not right.

He felt bigger than usual, and his body was all soft, like he was covered in fur...

It was just that his scent, and Aura remained the same. Maybe he grew up in the year that he was gone?

As they went further and further away, the growling sounds were getting distant.

And after a while, Sunna could not hear them anymore!

She sighed in relief, knowing that she was finally safe. She had been saved!

After what seemed like an eternity, she felt them stop. No! It was actually like they had landed.

And it was then that her brother released her eyes.

They were standing in front of a certain door of a house that seemed somehow extravagant.

She looked up at her brother now. And yes, it was him! It was Deagan.

"Brother?" She called in disbelief. And she jumped into his embrace again. She was happy to see him.

"Let us get in first," the man replied calmly, patting her back. Then while holding her hand,he opened the door for them.

"Is this where you stay?" She asked. The house was clean, just like his taste always.

So, all this time that she had been looking for him, he was here, living peacefully.

But the man did not reply. He just held her hand and led her to the living room.

"What were you doing there?" He asked. And he looked angry, just like he would admonish her in the past.

Deagan was twenty eight years old, and she was only twenty! He was eight years older than her, and she had always respected him.

She felt mad when he asked her that question. "I was looking for you!" She said and pouted.

He had just left like that. She was scared that she would never see him again if she had never gone looking for him.

"Do you remember our rule?" Deagan asked as he looked at her face. He seemed even angrier than she had thought.

"Mmh?" She asked back. Deagan seemed so cold towards her. Did he not love anymore?

The man held her leg and looked at it. They were all swollen. And it was then that she knew what he meant. He had told her never to get herself hurt or he would punish her.

"For how long have you been away from home?" He asked as he looked for the first aid kit.

Sunna jumped off the seat and began walking behind him, just like she was his tail. She did not want him to get lost again.

"I do not even know!" She replied. "Maybe a week? My phone got lost."

But the man stopped and looked her. " You can still walk?" He asked coldly. "Do you want me to break those legs of yours?"

Sunna was taken aback. "Brother?" She called in confusion. Why was he saying so many scary words today?

The man did not respond. He just lifted her up and placed her on the sofa. "You are hurt, do not move around."

Sunna sighed in relief. So he was just worried about her?

She watched as the man calmly treated her legs. It was just like he would do in the past whenever she was hurt.

"Brother, why did you leave? I missed you so much," she said as tears welled in her eyes.

"Does dad know that you are here?" Deagan assumed her and asked a question of his own. He seemed so serious than ever.

"No!" Sunna shook her head immediately.

"Do you know how worried he can be now? You have to go back," Deagan said looking at her legs that he had just finished dressing.

"Not yet," Sunna shook her head. "Dad went to country B. He will be there for a month. And Auntie Sam knows that I am at school."

"Sunna?" Deagan called, looking at her face. "Don't come here again. It is not safe for you," he said.

"I know," Sunna nodded. "But I know you will protect me,like today!"

Deagan sighed. "I will bring you something to eat. We shall leave when you feel better," he said to her.

"You will stay with us, right? Dad seemed depressed when you left," she said.

They had been living the three of them since her mom died. And they had always been a very lively family.

And Deagan had always helped his dad at the company and every other thing. He had even helped in taking care of her.

But they were only left two when Deagan left a year ago. And even her dad said that he had not heard from him.

He got so busy after that since everything was left in his hands. He had to be in charge of the company and also his other business abroad.

"What about you?" Deagan asked as he placed some food into the microwave in the kitchen.

The stubborn Sunna who had followed behind him remained silent for some time.

And Deagan turned to look at her. She seemed to be having complicated emotions within her.

"I... I..." She stopped again. She was not sure what she had felt. "I was worried that maybe something had happened to you," she said.

But Deagan kept looking into her eyes. "Just that?"

She shook her head and a tear fell from her eyes. "I thought I would never see you again. And I cried everyday, thinking you had abandoned me..."

The microwave beeped, and Deagan turned to take out the food. He carried her back to the living room before bringing the food to her.

"Eat," he said as he placed the food before her.

Sunna blinked her eyes. " I am tired, brother..." She said, looking at him in a spoiled manner.

And he knew what she wanted. Anyway, he was the one who had spoiled her like that.
