CH1: Run!

Sunna Delmar, the only daughter of the great Malden Delmar, a great business man, a man in the highest rank of the powerful people of the world, was crying.

Yeah, Sunna Delmar, the only sister to Deagan Delmar, a young man who had followed in the footsteps of his adopted father, was hopeless.

She stood amidst the abandoned buildings, looking around, tears continuously falling from her eyes.

Yes, she knew that she should not have come here. She should never have thought of leaving home, because she was sure that it would be dangerous.

But she wanted to. She wanted to find her brother Deagan. She wanted to see him again. It had been so long since she last saw him.

She was tired, and her legs were sore after walking for a long time. She was hungry, yet she only had a bottle of water left.

But she kept walking. There were two reasons for that.

One, she still had the hope of finding her brother. She wanted to go back home with him.

And two, she was not even sure where she was. She could not even go back because she was lost. She had just walked, for a long time, maybe even days.

Her phone was lost when she had been chased by some bandits. She did not even know what time it was.

And now, it was like she was all alone in this world. You know, she had not seen any human being for a while now.

She was not sure if she was still in the same world as everyone else.

She stopped when she felt like she could not move anymore. She leaned against the wall, and looked through her backpack.

After realizing that there was really nothing else she could eat, she took out the bottle of water.

But just as she undid the cork, there came a loud growl behind her.

She froze. But there came another growl. Slowly, with trembling hands, she turned to look behind her.

And the bottle in her hands fell to the ground, her only edible thing was gone.

But huh! She did not have the time to think about that. All she saw were creatures.

At first, she could not tell what they were. But they looked a little familiar to her. Yeah, she seemed to have some images of them in her head.

All she knew was that she was in danger! Because behind her, there were just too many! She could not count them!

Run!

Having only one voice in her head, she took off to her heels. She had to escape!

She knew that she would never leave here alive if she remained dumb. And oh yes... She wanted to live!

She wanted to be there for her dad! She wanted to be there for him, because she was the only thing he had!

However, she came to a halt when she saw the same creatures ahead of her. And the noises...

They were all howling, or was it barking? She could not tell what it really was.

She looked at the right, maybe running to that direction would help. But the same creatures were to her right.

To the left, there was a building, and it would be difficult for her to get any exit.

Her heart had come to a standstill, and the hair on her body stood straight.

She ran some steps to the left. Of course, she would only run to the direction she thought would be a little safe.

She turned to face the creatures, her hands pressed backwards on the cold wall, and her face covered in cold sweat.

At the frontline of the beasts, that was one that she would call them at that time, there was one that looked bigger than the others.

She was breathing so loudly as she stared at them, not very sure of what to do. They were inching closer.

They all had their teeth bared. And she even thought that she saw blood on their extended teeth.

She wanted to imagine that she was just dreaming. And mmh... That thought reminded her where she had seen the creatures.

She had always dreamt of them! She had always seen them in her dreams!

And that was the reason she wanted to believe that she was dreaming. That she would wake up at the end.

However, nothing seemed to change, the beasts came closer.

And a few feet from her, the bigger beast extended its fangs, growling even louder, and it was like it wanted to pounce on her.

She closed her eyes, making her last prayer in her head. And she did it to apologize to her dad!

She had promised to be always beside him,but here she was, going to die!

However, there came a loud growl in front of her. And the next second, something landed beside her with a thud!

Thinking that it was the beast, she bit on her teeth, because she knew that even if she screamed, no voice would come out! Or maybe, there was really no one to help her!

But she was shocked when she was pulled into a warm embrace!

"Are you okay?" Someone asked close to her ears.

And she thought that she was really dreaming. Because that voice belonged to her brother, Deagan Delmar!

"Brother," she called as she lifted her head to look at him. He came to save her. Yeah, he was the only one who would do it at such a time!

But he covered her eyes immediately. "Let us leave this place!" He said.

All Sunna had wanted to look at was his face! She had missed him so much!

It had been one year since he had left, and there had never been any form of communication between them!

But he was covering her eyes! All she could see was darkness, and all she had were the loud growls below her!

Yes! That was it! It was below them! Wait! What was happening?

She knew that Deagan was carrying her!

But wasn't he supposed to be running? Why did it look like he was flying instead?

She struggled a little to pull his hand from her eyes. She wanted to know what that was happening.
