LOGINMyra’s pov
“Thank goodness you are back.” Sera said with so much relief as she saw me make my way into my room through the windows.
She lends me a hand and pulls me in.
“Let’s get you changed.” She hurried to the closet and I took off my boots and tossed them to the side, but just as I was about to take a step. My door swung wide open, with a loud crash.
“Myra!” My step mother Lucia stormed in. Her brows pinched tightly.
“I just knew it!” She scoffed. “There’s no way you listen.”
“What you want Lucia.” I asked, my face was straight and I definitely wasn’t in the mood to suck up to her bullshit. I also did not care if she knew I had gone out either.
She let out a gentle bitter laugh under her breath as her eyes scan the room.
“You are always so good at ruining things aren’t you.” She retorted. “Why the hell are you not ready.. Where did...”
She was still talking when a deep familiar voice cut through the air.
“She was with me.”
My chest tightened as my eyes fell on the last person I wanted to see right now. He was standing at the entrance of the room with a straight face.
“Oh.. Alpha Ethan.” Lucia’s frown instantly turned in to a huge smile. “I didn’t think you would be here. I was just...”
“She'll be down in a few minutes.” Ethan cut through her statement as he made his way in.
“Sure, take your time.” Lucia bowed her head slightly at him.
“Please excuse me.”
She walked out with Sera behind her and they slammed the door, leaving just Ethan and myself.
“Myra..” His voice softened.
“You’ve been ignoring my calls and messages, what's wrong?” He cupped my face in his hands, and tried to caress my cheeks but I pulled away.
His touch burns and I couldn’t help but think how he could be so pretentious. Like he wasn’t glad I didn’t reach out so he could have all the time to mess around with Tiara.
“Come on baby..” He closed the gap between us. “Are you still angry about what happened yesterday.. I know I shouldn’t have left you all alone, I’m sorry..”
“I want to end our engagement.” I broke from my silence. My voice didn’t tremble, but my stomach twisted. I could feel my eyes heating up and I clenched my fist tightly, not minding if my nails would make a hole in my palm. The pain is nothing compared to what I feel in my heart.
“What? Why?” His brows slightly knit together and his face etched with concern.
“Come on Myra you can’t make jokes like this because you’re angry.” He breathed. “I’m sorry ok.. I’ll make it up to you.”
I chuckled dryly. A joke?
“I’m damn serious Ethan. I want our engagement called off.” I Repeated.
His presence now makes my skin crawl and the storm of rage in my heart increases every second. It hurt having to see them devour each in that store room, but right now it hurts even more, seeing how he looks at me with softness in his eyes backed with deceit. All the care and reassurance were nothing but lies.
“What do you mean Myra, you can’t do that.” His eyes darkened in a way I have never seen before. “Are you going to throw away everything we’ve shared?”
I scoffed. “You conniving bastard.” I said under my breath.
He looked taken aback.
“I’m the one throwing away what we’ve shared huh.” A bitter laugh bubbled in my throat.
“And what have you been doing?” I closed the gap between us, my eyes fixed in his, but my voice cracked with raw unfiltered pain even when I tried to keep it steady, followed by the hot tears I had been trying to hold back— not to appear weak to him.
“You didn’t only throw away what we shared, you lied, manipulated and betrayed me.” I yelled with all the pent up anger in me.
“What do you mean..”
“Quit it Ethan.” I pulled out my phone and played the video recording.
“I saw you two.. right in this building on a day that was supposed to be ours.” My voice broke. “You always told me never to worry about Tiara, but you were messing around with her all these while and you both played me for a fool.” I cried out.
Alaric was right. I have every right to put this video on every media platform and embarrass them, but what would I gain out of it? I would remain stuck to Ethan at my fathers request and everyone would see me as not only weak but also a dolt.
Ethan stood in front of me with a numb expression, but then his next sentence sent shivers down my spine..
“It’s good, you know.” He closed the gap between us even more as darkness harbored around him. It reminded me of how he ordered my death. The room suddenly felt cold, but I didn’t flinch. I don’t have anything to lose either way.
“But it’s not what you think” He relented. His hard eyes softened once again.
“It’s not what I think?” I scoffed.
“No..” He breathed.
“I mean I was just a mistake. It was just that one time. We got carried away and we both regret it. I wanted to tell you, but I couldn't bring myself to and I’m sorry you had to find out this way.” His face plastered with guilt and I could see some kind of remorse in his eyes, but I wasn’t having it.
Those eyes that once made me feel safe now look like lies and deceit to me. I know he would only try to make me forgive him like I’ve always done.
“I don’t care if it was once or a million times Ethan.. you betrayed me.” I winced. The pain I felt in my throat was unbearable as I forced myself to speak through my tears. God knows how many more times they would get carried away.
He swallowed.
“Myra please.” He lowered his head.
I sniffed, summoning all the strength inside me and fixing his gaze “I know about your agreement with my father, but if I ever meant anything to you let me go.” My voice dropped lower.
“Let’s end it here.”
There was silence carrying the weight of our emotions.
He let out a heavy breath.
“I’m really sorry for everything. I truly love you and would never intentionally hurt you.” His voice cracked through his words and then he straightened his shoulders.
“But if this is what you want.” He paused and his teary eyes met mine.
“Let’s call off our engagement.”
“But”
Myra’s pov “Are you sure you don’t need anything?“Wouldn’t you like to get some rest instead? Sera has been repeating the same questions since I told her I would be going to the Voss estate to exercise. “Myra are you..” I turned around to face her and took her hands into mine. Her gaze met mine. “I’m fine Sera.” I said softly with a gentle smile. I know she is nagging out of concern, but I would rather exercise and drain myself out and burn out all of the phene running through my veins, than lie in bed and drown in thoughts of misery. I’m sure Sera understands. Her face became red and her lips trembled. “I’m so sorry you had to go through that, I should have made sure you were alright.” Her voice broke and the tears she had been fighting so hard to hold back fell freely. “Come here..” I pulled her in for a hug. Sera might be hot headed, but could get really vulnerable sometimes. “You don’t have to keep apologizing, it wasn't your fault.” I know what exactly she must be thinki
Tiara’s Pov Shit.. I’m fucked. I need to think of something fast. If Ethan walks through that door he’d squeeze the truth out of Irene.“I’m.” I swallowed as he turned back and closed the distance between us. “I asked her to watch your father.” The words came out of my mouth faster than I could probably process the thought. I needed to say something.. anything. His brow raised slightly. “He’s been visiting the grand master hall lately.” I swallowed. “You know.. the hall for the coming event. He made Myra and I in charge, but has been visiting secretly and his Beta brought in some boxes in between which weren't approved on the list of items for the event.” He seemed interested in what I had to say. “I wasn’t sure what was in those boxes and I just wanted to know what he was up to so I sent Irene to watch. She returned with no useful information and I asked her to get information no matter what it takes even if it meant sneaking into his office.” I lied through my teeth and from
Ethan’s Pov “Did you fucking send him after Myra?” I snarled through clenched teeth as I stepped into Tiara’s home. She had managed to leave the council without me noticing. “Oh for fuck sake Ethan I can’t believe you came down here for that..” She rolled her eyes. “Wasn’t it obvious Irene did it? All evidence pointed to her..” “Remember?” She raised a brow. “But that asshole is your man.. he worked for you and I don’t really know what you claimed he did for you.” I pointed out the fact. I wasn’t sure why she needed a financial advisor out of the blue. To think it must have happened at the event yesterday just when I left Myra on the dancing floor to be with Tiara. She claimed she was in need of my attention from the series of text messages she had sent to me, so I left just before the dance would come to an end. She was just a few blocks away in some hotel. I was supposed to rush down there to check on her, but I got caught up in the situation. She was too sexy to resist and
Myra’s pov “Myra..” Ethan walked up to me immediately, while my eyes were still fixed on Irene and Nile walking out. “Are you hurt?” He was all over my face. “When did it happen?” “How did it happen?” He tried to gently cup my face, but I recoiled, pulling away from his touch.“This isn’t the place.” I said under my breath but his next question twisted something in my stomach. “Did you go out to meet him?” He asked and my gaze met his. “Say something Myra.” He added. I chuckled softly. “I can’t believe you.” All eyes were fixed on us but if he’s going to bring that conversation out here and belittle me, I wouldn’t stand for it. “What exactly are you implying?” I asked my gaze fixed in his. “I..” He paused. “No it’s not what you think.. I’m sorry.” He rubbed the back of his hair roughly. “I’m just asking if you’re okay.. you know..” He gestured by nodding his head.. “Cause I’ll fucking kill him.” He clenched his fist as he growled. I scoffed. “If you’re trying to know if
Myra’s POV What? My eyes flew open. Nile works for Tiara and my first instinct told me she could have told him to do it, but then he made his choice and I didn’t want to put it on Tiara even though I know how excited she would be to ruin me. My gaze fell on Irene. She seemed visibly shocked that her name was being mentioned. “Tiara made me do it.” Irene sobbed as she glared at her with hard eyes. “Why the heck are you mentioning me in all this?” Tiara snarled as she glared at her. They stared at each other with burning eyes before Irene took her gaze off. “She has been threatening me.” She sniffed ready to pull it all out. “She has a video recording of me from her fathers birthday party where I..” She paused and swallowed thickly like she was contemplating on what to say next or how to say it. “Where I took a diamond ring from Lady Violet without her knowledge.” She cleaned her eyes with the back of her hand. “I sold off the ring because I needed the money and when Tiara fo
Myra’s pov “What the fuck did you say?” Irene got on her feet as she glared at him with hard eyes. “I never asked him for such a thing.” She snarled and her voice trembled without control.“She hired me.” Nile repeated. His gaze fixed her. “I was at a bar having a drink a few weeks back. She offered to pay for my drinks and asked if I could do her a favor. She claimed we could make good money together. She seemed in desperate need of money, but was a bit reluctant to share the idea.. after a while she spilled out the beans and asked if I could get Myra to have a private time with me and keep recordings. She would pay me off after all of it. She gave me the Phene. She planned it all.” Nile said in one breath without flinching. “You must be out of your god damn mind.” Irene snapped. “He’s lying.” My eyes just kept moving between the both of them. “I have proof...”“Can I have my phone?” Nile asked and the Gamma warrior handed it over to him while keeping close watch of what he was
Myra’s pov“Please Stop! Please, I beg you, stop!” A stream of tears rolled down my cheek as I lay on the operating table. My stomach was throbbing in pain, my waist was on fire, and even the breath I took was accompanied by a sharp pain. It was too immense. My hands clasped on my stomach, prayi
Myra's POV:His touch for some odd reason burned my skin in ways I never expected. I immediately pulled my hand away from him and made my way out of the huge hall to the restroom, my heart pounding harshly in my chest. What was going on?He was supposed to be my father-in-law yet here I was, feeli
