Chapter 0010

"The chain-" I started but he shook his head.

"-it's good for escaping the Alpha's border breach but not for the guards. Follow me."

I just did. I mean, he was the teacher. He followed a particular trail and I did too. He told me to get on his back, to be able to cross with a pack member and I flinched a bit. But the chain was with me, what was all the drama for?

Sighing, I climbed on his back and his hands held my lap tightly. I shivered to feel uncomfortable as we crossed and when we did, I came down immediately and thanked him. He just waved it off and kept walking as I followed.

After some time, we approached a hut, it seemed bigger than Bonnie's but there were other huts around it. A girl was sitting in front of the hut next to ours and she watched me with slit eyes as I followed Daniel. It took a while for the blonde to notice her.

"Hey Chrissy," He greeted and she smiled at him, looking so pretty before her nasty look was on again.

"Invader?" She asked and he nodded. "How long?"

"Tonight," He answered with a bit of caution.

"That's enough time to fuck and you know that," She complained standing up as my eyes widened, disgust filling my insides.

"Moon Goddess Christabel," He shouted, exasperated and she rolled her eyes.

"Let her come stay with me, don't you wanna spend some alone time with a girl bestie instead?" She asked with a sickly sweet smile on her face and I nodded anyway, ready to do anything rather than spend the night with a guy who has been making me feel uncomfortable.

Her eyes expanded in surprise when she heard my answer. Daniel shook his head. "No, you'll hurt her. She stays with me and she will be gone by morning. Good evening Miss Escrow."

My eyes shifted to the old figure, coming out from her hut with a horrible look on her face. What was wrong with everyone?

"Where's she from?" The old lady asked in an awful tone and Daniel sighed.

"Bonnie," He replied and the two of the onlookers nodded to themselves. Was Bonnie some respected person here?

"Let's go in," Daniel said and Christabel loudly snorted. I followed him anyway, this Chrissy chick looked like she could kill me at night.

The insides of the house were not so bad either, but my body was still feeling tinglish, I didn't feel safe.

I sat down on the bean bag provided for me and gave him a tight smile, which he returned, his looking real. Was I being a bit too much?

"You're injured," He finally said the words that I had been expecting since he saw me. "You did that back there, didn't you?"

I hung up a bit, "Did what?" I inquired softly and he smiled, sitting down with a first aid box.

"Those rogues. I understood what was going on when I saw Corey with a healing mark on his arm, and Bonnie being so nice when everyone knows the kind of person she is." My eyes followed him as he stood up during the speech, walking around to get some plasters and other stuff.

"Is she mean?" I questioned again, changing the subject and he shrugged.

"She could kill you easily with just sand and oxblood shields. It's more like this. She's feared by people. The Midnight Pack had no problem letting her live around. It's good to have a powerful healer by a pack's side."

My mind strapped back and I finally understood why she lived so close.

"But, she's not allowed to live with anyone but her son, Corey."

That was the main reason why they wanted me to leave.

I nodded and stared at him with a stunned look when he brought the swab closer to my arm. My wolf didn't even complain. Maybe it was because those wounds were inflicted by rogues.

"You're healing pretty quickly for an Omega," His voice sounded weak as his mind was more focused on the closing injury. I cleared my throat and looked away, not wanting to answer that. My wolf was still giving off that Omega aura.

"What are you, in here?" I asked and he stopped cleaning the wound and smiled, but the smile seemed a little pained and unreal.

"I'm an outcast. We all are. I used to be a guard," He responded with his voice sounding a bit distant.

That was why he knew all he knew, huh?

My eyes drooped a little, and I got tired, already ready to end this stupid sad day of mine. Worst birthday ever.

"You should probably get some rest," He laughed out, his words sounding kind, and I smiled unconsciously as he pointed to a mat that was not so far from where I was.

"Good night."

Goodnight.
