One year later

The sunrays peered into my eyes through the curtains. I opened my eyes, rubbing my fingers on my face.

“Good morning, sweetheart. Breakfast in bed!” Darius cheered, placing a gentle kiss on my forehead.

“Good morning, my love. Isn’t this too early.” I smiled, grabbing the cup of coffee on the tray.

I took a sip and dropped the cup back on the tray.

“You need to eat well so the baby won’t be hungry, I know you are strong enough to hold your hunger but our baby isn’t.” He said, kissing my stomach.

My baby bump had become so obvious that I couldn’t hide it in my gowns like I used to.
