Rayna Bennett’s pov:

I must have been fourteen when a witch once told me that whoever would be my mate, would worship the ground I would walk on.

I guess she was right. 

Just look at me.

I am all dressed up in a white gown, like a bride, waiting for my Luna ceremony that is about to take place just in a few minutes.

Within a few minutes, I will be the Luna of this pack. The same pack who abused me, tortured me, and made fun of me. 

They still can’t seem to believe that an omega…

A weak omega, like me, will be ruling them alongside her three mates. 

Yup.

The Moon Goddess assigned me three mates—the popular alpha triplets of my pack.

Eric, Derek, and Cedric.

In the past, my gorgeous mates used to join the crowd when I used to get tortured by the pack members. 

But not anymore.

Just two weeks back, on my eighteenth birthday, I found that I was mated to not one, not two but three alpha male heirs of my pack. 

They seemed equally shocked when they found me staring at them in awe. After that, there was no looking back. We were not allowed to get intimate before the marking ceremony but obviously, we just couldn’t keep our hands off each other. 

There was constant kissing, touching, and licking whenever we got a chance. Though we never crossed the line, but the way they used to get hard beneath me… 

“Ouch!”

I came back to reality when my friend Zara poked her elbow in my ribs.

“Wipe that fuc*king drool off your face, girl.” She teased me mischievously and I had to roll my eyes. She was eyeing the stage where my mates were standing side by side with a bored look on their faces. They were waiting for their father, Alpha Magnus to end the boring speech.

They wanted me beside them on the stage. After my Luna oath, they were ready to pounce on me like hungry beasts.

I just couldn’t wait to jump to the part where they would announce my name and invite me on stage.

I turned my head and found my stepmother Lola Bennett standing in the corner of the hall. She was already looking at me and the moment our eyes met, she brought a vile smile to her face.

In the past, I used to be the first one to break the eye contact. But I was not the same timid girl anymore.

Not tonight.

Nopes! 

She seemed to be taken aback when I kept staring into her jet-black eyes instead of looking away.

She was my father’s chosen mate and gave him two adorable twins. Grace and Liam were four years old and were my half-siblings.

 There were rumors that Lola once rejected a handsome Lycan.

That Lycan was a royal warrior, but Lola wanted someone with a good position, so she chose my dad who was the beta of the pack.

Yes. My father was a beta, but I was demoted to an omega right after my birth.

Reason?

Because I killed my biological mom.

Ha-ha. Funny! Right?

My mom lost her life during my birth and my father disowned me. He held me responsible for his fated mate’s death and I ended up being an omega of the pack.

I was supposed to serve the pack members and to stay on my toes twenty-four-seven.

Ah! Not anymore.

My eyes darted back to my handsome mates who couldn’t seem to look anywhere else. That was the power of the mate bond. They were wildly attracted to me because I was their mate.

I just couldn’t wait to be marked by them and consummate our mate bond though the triplet duo always bullied me in the past.

They were neither kind to me nor did they stop the pack members from mistreating me.

Anyways! That was the past.

Our beautiful Luna Camila was seated beside the Alpha seat with a small smile playing on her lips. Every pack member was there in the ceremony except one person.

Violet.

The spoiled sister of my stepmom. Ever since Violet had heard about me being mated to the triplets, she had confined herself in her room. 

Alas! The irony.

 She was happily welcomed in my father’s house and was given my room while the daughter of the beta was serving as a pack omega. Nobody had seen Violet for the past two weeks. 

She had a hard-core crush on the eldest triplet, Eric. 

But now, nothing was in my hands. 

“They are about to call your name, Rayna.” I heard Zara’s whisper and pulled back my shoulders to improve my posture.

Lifting my chin, I focused on the stage where I was supposed to walk. 

“Hey, Rose. You ready?” I again tried to wake my wolf up. She was there with me till this morning but now she had gone quiet since the ceremony started.

“Rose! Our mates are waiting for us. This is the time to celebrate, honey.” I again tried to coax her into waking up and felt strange when I didn’t feel her inside my head.

Something was wrong. What was exactly happening? Why was she not responding to me?

Oh, Rose! You were so excited about our mating ceremony and now you are not even coming forward!

I felt Zara tightening her grip on my sweaty hand and I squeezed my eyes.

“I would now like to invite my sons’ unexpected mate, Zara Bennett.” We all heard the heavy voice of Alpha Magnus, and I took the steps with a speeding heartbeat.

I was scared.

What if I would trip? What if I lose my balance and faint?

What if…

My train of thought was interrupted by a male hand spreading before my eyes when I reached the staircase of the stage. 

The youngest triplet, Cedric was standing there with a soft smile playing on his lips. 

“Come on, our darling mate. Time to get done with the ceremony.” Such a gentleman he was!

Coming to my rescue. Not letting me fall.

The moment our hands touched, I couldn’t shake off that odd feeling. The sparks that used to erupt upon touching my mates, were missing.

“Rose! We are about to be a Luna. Wake up. Where are you?” I again tried to connect to my wolf and swallowed hard when I found Cedric looking at our joined hands with a strange look on his face.

“Is your wolf alright?” he asked me in a soft whisper, but I couldn’t utter a word and threw a glance towards my audience.

I wanted to assure myself that this was not a dream when I again found my stepmom, Lola looking at me with an evil glint in her eyes.

Bulls*hit!

I needed to ignore her, man.

Holding Cedric's hand, I climbed the staircase and walked to the center of the stage. My other hand was immediately taken by the middle brother Derek.

“Here she is,” the alpha spoke in the mic, “now I’ll invite my beautiful mate, Luna Camila, to take the oath from the future Luna of the pack.” He said looking at his Luna with so much gentleness and love.

“What’s the matter? Is your wolf sleeping?” Eric the eldest triplet hissed behind me. My heart missed a beat, and I turned my head to look at him.

“Ask your wolf to wake up, Rayna. We accepted a weak wolf because the Moon Goddess chose you. But a Luna without a wolf is a BIG NO for us.”

Eric whispered again.

My father, Logan Bennett came out of nowhere and handed me the holy book of the werewolves.

“I am sorry for the way I treated you, Rayna… my daughter. You look so beautiful. Just like your mom. Never had this idea that you were fated to become the Luna of the pack. I am so proud of you, my child.”

I tried to blink back the tears. This was the first time my father talked to me in such a soft tone. Otherwise, his wife and Violet kept abusing me in front of his eyes and he never defended me.

Nobody ever told me about my mom. I knew nothing about her.

I still remember how Eric once playfully tore open my shirt in front of the whole pack just because he wanted to show everyone my nonexistent bo*obs. Thankfully I was wearing a flimsy camisole underneath.

B…but again that was the past. Right?

This is present.

I am the pack’s future.

Now everyone would love me. Including my father. My days as a lowly omega were over. Lola and Violet could go and fu*ck themselves.

I placed my right hand on the holy book and closed my eyes.

“I Rayna Bennett take the oath and swear by this Goddess book…”

I opened my mouth to repeat the words spoken by our Luna. I could see Zara’s misty eyes even from this distance. Before I could utter a word, I heard a piercing, high-pitched scream from across the hall.

“STOP! PLEASE STOP. SHE DOESN’T DESERVE TO BE A LUNA!”
