Chapter 006

Ethan was tied up in a meeting. It seemed the issue with the rogues was worse than Alex had said. Most of their building equipment and material had been spoiled and some of the workers had been killed.

Throughout the meeting,he kept thinking of one thing, Abigail. He needed to hear her voice and know for sure that she was doing okay.

Immediately after the meeting,he called her number,but she didn't pick it up. He dialed again and her phone was switched off. His brows furrowed. What could be happening? 

“Sir, Alpha Damien is already in the lounge.” Alex reminded him. “Hmmm,let's go.” Ethan dropped his phone in his pocket.

When they reached the lounge, Damien was drinking while playing with some ladies. Immediately the ladies sighted Ethan walking in,they moved to his side to entice him,but Ethan showed no interested. Feeling embarrassed,they left immediately.

“Ah,you still have this thing of stealing the show wherever you go.” Damien smirked. “How have you been?” Ethan asked.

“Good as always. What brings you back to the Dark city?” Damien asked, pouring him a drink.

“Rogues.” Ethan whispered,jaw clenched.

“Ah,those beasts? What do they want this time?” Damien frowned. “I haven't found out yet,I need your help to be able to.” Ethan smiled.

“You know this place better than me.” He added.

“Come on Ethan,at least have a drink. The trip down here must be tiring.” Damien stretched out the drink and Ethan accepted it.

As he drank,his mind went back to Abigail,he wondered how she was doing.

Liam sat in the darkness of his room. There was shattered glass on the floor and he smelled of alcohol. Tears fell down his face as he looked at the pictures he had taken with Abigail when they were still together.

The door creaked open and Clara walked in. She tiptoed, avoiding the shards of glass that might injure her. She sat on the bed and looked at the pictures on Liam's phone.

“You must love her very much.” She said, placing her palm on the back of his hand.

Liam didn't reply at first,he kept staring at the smile on Abigail's face in the pictures,but he could tell she wasn't really happy with him.

 “That's not of much use now that father has her.”  

Clara smiled to herself.

“Liam,we are wolves. We take,we do not ask. If you really want Abigail,then you should take her.”

“Are you telling me to…”

“Yes,I'm telling you to. My brother can be a whole lot to handle sometimes,but if you want something,you should grab it Liam.”

Suddenly,Liam frowned. “What's in it for you?” He asked. He'd always known Clara as someone who always has a goal or something to achieve.

Clara's smile faltered a bit. “I want you to prove your worth. If you can't even get a simple girl now,how will you rule the pack in the future when my brother dies?” She asked.

Liam thought of it carefully,it made sense. He had to prove himself worthy of the title of Alpha. Getting Abigail back would be the first step.

“What should I do?” He asked.

Clara smiled, seeing her plan fall in place. 

Oh,Liam. Such an easy boy to fool. She thought to herself.

“Go over to her side or meet up somewhere to discuss things. You should probably apologize.” She said,in a low, pitiful voice.

Liam quickly stood up and dashed towards the door. 

“Stop!” 

He turned back with a questioning look. “You can't go there looking like this.” Clara pointed out. She stood from the bed and walked over to his side. “You should take a bath and shave.” She smiled warmly.

“You're just like your mother.” 

She opened the door and left him alone with her words.

When Abigail woke up,she had bags under her eyes from crying. Her heart felt numb,her skin pale and lifeless. She grabbed her phone, wanting to check the time,but she realized it was still switched off from yesterday. She switched the phone on and was surprised to see over 400 texts and calls from Ethan last night. 

She didn't check the texts, she was afraid to. She ordered some pizza before deciding to take her bath. 

While in the bathroom,she thought back to her encounter with pa Frey. Come to think of it,if she were some alpha's daughter,he would welcome her with open arms. He didn't accept her as she was, he spited her. Spited her blood.

Would she always be judged by her blood and not by her personality? She felt it was absurd. She cleared it off her mind. From now on,she would avoid Ethan at work and kill all the feelings she had for him. She knew it wouldn't be easy,but at least she's got to try.

When she was done bathing and dressing up,the door bell rang. She hurried downstairs, thinking it was the delivery man already there to deliver the pizza she'd ordered earlier.

To her surprise,when she opened the door,she was met with Liam's warm smile. She felt disgusted just looking at him. Her stomach twisted in knots. Her mind recalled how he had destroyed her well planned dinner the other day.

In anger,she slammed the door in his face and turned her back to the door. “Abigail, please let me in. We can talk things out.” He pleaded.

Talk things out? Abigail wondered. After he had insulted her and called her a slut. There was absolutely nothing to talk about. She hated the Freys now,and there was no going back from that.

“Go away Liam!” She shouted.

Liam didn't respond,for like a few minutes. “It's about my dad.”

Abigail paused,did something happen to Ethan. She hated the fact that she cared,that she still loved him deeply. Slowly,she stood up and opened the door. Liam was gone,but he left a note, asking her to meet him at the location later in the evening if she wanted to find out.
